1 Camshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2016

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while pulling off from a stop, the vehicle accelerated independently. The vehicle failed to decelerate and crashed into the driver side of another vehicle. A police report was filed. The contact sustained minor whiplash that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic where the front end of the vehicle was repaired. Also, the front and rear camshaft sensors and alternator were replaced. The failure persisted after the repairs were performed. The contact also mentioned that, on numerous occasions, the vehicle stalled and restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was unable to be determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
