The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, an unknown part on the driver's side front seat fractured, causing the seat to wobble. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
I bought the car not knowing that the seat bracket driver side was already broken the dealership would not do anything I looked into this and there are several thousands of other complaints on the same safety issue I'm only a hundred and fifteen pounds and I'm bouncing all over the place and I'm terrified I don't have the extra 2,000 $3,000 is going to cost to replace and this is a major thing it has happened several times this needs to be recalled now.
The drivers seat frame is broken at the right rear lift arm. The seat frame is electrically adjustable. The seat wobbles causing the driver to move around at random. Loss of control of vehicle is possible as seat moves left and right as vehicle is being driven. As this just occurred within the past 24 hours it has not been inspected by anyone other than myself.
Driver seat wobbles around, seems to be broken. Happened with regular use. Safety issue that appears to happen with many other 05 Muranos and possibly other year models. Ongoing.
Got into the vehical. While adjusting the seat and leaning back, the seat slumped back and to the left. It wobbles now. I feel it is unsafe to drive because the seat is not solid and shifts around as I drive. My wife is disabled and I am a disabled marine combat veteran. We cannot afford a new vehicle or to replace with a new seat. Manufacturer should replace this.
The left side of the drivers side seat started moving up and down - the bracket that attached it to the floor of the car snapped so the left side bounces up and down. This is primarily my sons car and it seems like a safety issue for me - moving while driving, and less stable in an accident. It looks from Nissan forums that this is a very common problem with Nissan Murano yet it is not a recall.
The driver seat of my Murano move back when I press the gas and when I press the brake it moves forward and pushes me up the guy I bought my car from told me that most of the Muranos had recalls on their seat bc of this reason. It messes me up when brake and pressing gas bc I'm moving.
Driver seat collapsed on rear while driving. The base frame is a square that has a horizontal bar on the back and that broke on the left rear side that resulted in dipping on that side when seated and driving. This is unsafe !! no reason any metal that should have been welded should brake off.
Driver seat bottom frame broken as described by https://. . Read more...
The Nissan Murano driver seat bracket has cracked like every other person on this list has stated while my daughter was driving to and from work which she drives daily only 14 miles round trip. She goes between 30-45 miles per hour and while this crack occurred she was going about 35on a city street, she didn't loose control but the car did veer off to the side as who would expect your seat to partially collapse. Thank goodness the road was empty and she has no traffic to combat with. The NHTSA should care of the chance of death or accident from occurring not just what has happened, the complaints have been stated as being high by the NHTSA. Clearly Nissan USA should be liable if there are so many complaints that it is clear they have used a faulty part. A recall should be issued and protection for the consumers who have invested or chosen these car should be a priority not protection of big business. This is a component that shouldn't break if a properly constructed bracket was used. Having had 7 cars over my life from ranging in age from 20 years old to brand new none of them have ever had this issue and I am appalled that no one, not Nissan or the NHTSA cares about a poorly constructed product that is not what the consumer paid for and could lead to potential injury. I guess some more people have to get hurt or die for the NHTSA to care, quite sad when you look at it this way.
My seat is loose due to failure of the 8 way adjustable control that is a major safety issue and that was repaired by Nissan 2 time ones when the car was 2 years old and recently I paid to have it repaired. Now I have the same issue and the dealer indicated that they now have a better control at 2 times the cost.
I bought my son an 2005 Nissan Murano last year. Just recently his drivers seat track has broken in the farthest back position it can go. It is now a safety concern for me to drive. I can not reach the gas pedal and brake safely. I did some research and found that many many people have had the same problem and that Nissan would not fix it because their were no injuries as of yet. . . . Injuries or not this is a defective product and they should make it right !! I contacted Nissan directly and just like everyone else they will not do anything about it. I am a single mom still paying on this car I can't afford $1,000. 00 to replace the seat. Why can't someone make this company do the ethical thing and replace the broken part????? we work hard for our money and there should be someone out there to protect the consumer not the major corporations ! what has happened to this country ? there is no integrity anymore just greed. I for one will tell everyone I know how Nissan handled this as well as I will never never buy Nissan again. Toyota ahd Honda will always get my business because they stand behind their product. I drive a Honda and even though my vehicle was out of warranty I had a piston seal issue in my motor and they fixed it free of charge and made it like new again. Thanks for nothing Nissan you suck !! my son was getting into the car, sat in the seat and all of a sudden he felt the left side of the seat drop down. It will not move forward or backward only slightly sideways. It is now useless to me being I am only 5'5 my son is 6'2 and only 148lbs. It was not from his weight, it is from a faulty metal.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. While driving 35 mph, the front driver side seat bracket fractured and caused the contact to veer to the left. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 174,000.
The drivers seat mounting bracket failed and the seat fell. Apparently this has happened to others on this model year? I believe this is a safety concern as a driver could lose control if the bracket snaps like mine did. Luckily mine was stationary when it snapped.
While driving my vehicle on January 2,2016 I heard a loud noise from my seat and then a sudden drop in the rear drivers side seat. Upon pulling over I noticed that the seat was unattached on the rear left side. I took it to my repair shop, they removed the seat to find that the bracket was completely sheared off. I was told that they have never seen anything like that before. He called the Nissan dealership and he was informed that there was TSB's on the drivers seat but no recall stating that there were no serious accidents as a result of this defect but that was all and was told that we could buy the parts from them but that it was all on me to pay to have it repaired.
Driver seat back left bracket connected to the frame is broken. My driver seat now sways back and forth while driving and is very uncomfortable on my back. It is a serious safety hazard while driving. This a very common problem that Nissan should fix by ensuring a recall for their costumers.
Exiting the neighborhood, the drivers seat fell backwards from underneath the seat.
While turing a corner the seat mount (driver's side) broke causing the seat to immediately slant to the left. Luckly I was only travelling at a relatively slow speed, had I been on the hiway, passing a truck this equipment failure could have potentially caused a serious accident, as I would have no doubt been distracted and tried to fix or adjust the seat. Apparently this is a common failure for this vehicle due to the low quality parts being used. Nissan should take ownership of this problem especially when the vehicle is one of their more expensive ones currently in thier inventory.
Hello dear, I am writing this message to reporte a critical issue which happened on my Nissan Murano 2005. Last week during driving, my whole driver seat suddenly loose and now it almost falled off from frame. I feel not safe any more to drive it. It costs $500 to $1000 to fix. It is a Nissan Murano 2005 s model, I bought on February 2006 band new. It has around 100k, I used it for work most of time. After did some research online, I found it is a very common issue on Nissan Murano 2005. Nissan should recall for this critical issue and take full responsible for the fix.
Well, month ago my wife unlocked the car ,sat inside and start the engine. While she was trying to reverse then front driver seat just collapsed on the left side. Well,we find out it is front seat bracket that broke and while I was looking it online find out that a lot of people had same issues with their Nissan and never was made to be recall. They charge to fix that between 950-1200 $ . Nissan is very much aware of this issue and they did found solution by putting an extra support on the bracket so it's more sturdy. I'm just happy that this did not happen on hwy. That could cause me to cause accident and get hurt me and other people. Please take this seriously because we all know this is not something that should happen especially on the driver side driving on major hwy. Or not.

Drivers seat frame cross-member weld broke on the left rear lower weld. Feels like on every turn that driver can be thrown and tilted forward right from the seat causing the steering wheel to react in an uncontrolled albeit momentary jolt. Extremely dangerous as this is the cross member between left and right. Many complaints online for hundreds of owners with same exact issue down to the same side and same weld. I have 2 infants that make this a very scary and dangerous situation that Nissan has obviously failed to design correctly and should be a common and straightforward fix for their dealerships to resolve and owe buyers. Thanks for your time and attention.
This is previously addressed in an investigation closed in 2009. My seat bracket on drivers side did however break during vehicle operation while turning a corner. I have had spinal fusion surgery and this was enough of a jolt to cause pain in my neck. The seat now wobbles side to side and front to back and in the even of and accident would not be properly secured causing any injuries to be significantly worse in my opinion. 1100. 00 to replace this part is extremely irritating and I doubt others like myself have the cash to dump into a simple part with a design defect that will most likely only break again.
I was driving around a curve on a highway ramp to get onto the highway. I heard a loud pop and my seat leaned to the side and I swerved off the road. I was able to gain control of the vehicle and get back on the road. I checked under the seat and noted that a metal bracket had broken. The bracket did not look very sturdy. After researching this issue on the internet I noted that this was a common problem with Nissan Muranos. Is there a recall on the brackets?.

While I was driving, I heard a loud pop and the drivers seat shifted. The link lifter for the seat no longer functions correctly. The seat is lopsided unless all the way down to the floor, and will not raise uniformly any more. If the seat is raised up, it leans into the back right corner, no longer level with the floor of the vehicle. Internet research has shown that this is a known issue, and there has been a technical service bulletin released on it.
While exiting my car as I was going to stand from my seat I heard a 'snap' and the seat dropped down a fraction in the rear left hand side. Now my seat is very, very wobbly. This is evidently a very common problem.
