Drivers side seat is loose and started to dip towards the left. The seat is broken. I looked online and can see this is a recurring problem. Also the panel where you can push to lock awd or put on the seat warmers has sunk into the panel.
Driver's seat bracket is broken so the seat is slanted and wobbles.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while operating the vehicle the srs sensor light was continued to flash . The vehicle was taken to the local dealer pocatello Nissan(1900 flandro dr, pocatello id) who diagnosed that the air bag control sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Also while operating the vehicle the drivers side seat back would move due to a broken seat frame. The seat was repaired. No further information was available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 120,000. Jft.
Driver seat is broken it is being supported now with 3 bricks. It broke as I was making a right turn and I temporary lost control of the vehicle.
I have a broken seat track that when I stop it put me in to the steering wheel. This is the 2nd time this has happened it was replaced on August 19 2011 and Nissan payed $500 toward the replacement and now it has broken again. This is a very unsafe common problem with this car as seen on the Nissan message boards.
The front bracket of the driver seat seems to have broke and the seat lifts to the side while I'm driving. It also lifts a little while I get in the car. . Read more...
I have a 2005 Nissan Murano s with just 65,000 miles on it. The driver's seat broke; I think it is something at the left rear of the seat. After looking on line, I found that there is a problem with a part called the lifter bracket. It would appear that there are hundreds of people out there with this problem. Apparently Nissan is aware of this problem because they manufacture a part for this repair at a very high cost to the consumer not to mention the labor cost to do the repair. This has been an apparent problem for years without any recall by Nissan. My sister also has a 2005 Nissan Murano as well and her driver's seat broke a few years ago; they put a brick under it to stop the rocking! the seat rocks to the right when you go around a corner and god forbid what could happen if an accident were to occur. Is there anything your agency can do to cause Nissan to issue a recall on the driver's seat?.
Front drivers side seat. Left rear reinforcement broken. No collisions or crashes. Same part where all the other seats are breaking.
While boarding my car driver seat broke and also the damage triggered the air bag light to pop since the driver seat is linked to air bag.
Driving, heard loud pop and driver's seat tilted back. The right rear bracket broke on the seat frame that Nissan installed to replace the first one that broke on 01/30/2009 at 62,853 miles. Nissan refuses to do the repair at no charge and said it will cost $1,200. My initial complaint for the first incident (odi number) 10593351.
During normal use the driver's seat broke loose from the seat rail. I was very lucky that this occurred when I went to get into the vehicle while in my garage and not while I was driving or during a crash. Upon inspection the trip steel hollowed out plate connecting the seat to the rail broke. I am a mechanical engineer and the design of this part was clearly not strong enough to survive a crash. Instead of being a solid piece of thick steel it was hollowed out and the thin strips left to attach the seat to the rail were not strong enough to withstand normal use much less the force caused by a crash. The redesigned replacement part was a much stronger solid piece of metal.
Drivers seat frame broke causing driver to swerve. Fortunately no traffic other cars or pedestrians were in the immediate vicinity.
My driver seat broke recently. A search online determines this is a recurring prob for this vehicle. Why has this issue not been a recall item, or why isn't Nissan covering this defect??? the repair is approx $1,200!!! ?.
Driver seat bracket broken while driving vehicle on straight and level operation. Researched problem and found a ton of other complaints from various other owners with same issue. Issue is the rear left bracket on drivers seat. Seat moves all over the place at the moment and is extremely unsafe to be driven. This is a manufacture defect in this seat.
While accelerating from a stop at a light the left rear corner of the driver's side seat dropped about 3-4 inches. I was now leaning back and to the left in a very weird position. I had a hard time reaching the pedals as the front of the seat was now much higher than the rear so my legs were pulled back from the brake and gas pedals. I could pull myself back up and "balance" on the three other seat mounts that were still good but I had to pull on the steering wheel to do so and that made it difficult to steer. I pulled over into a parking lot a soon as I could. After a few minutes of investigation I discovered I could at least have a stable seat if I lowered it all the way to the floor. The broken seat mount now rests on the floor of the vehicle which works for me as I'm fairly tall and can still operate the car. However, anyone a bit shorter than me cannot drive safely as they cant adjust the seat up any longer. I'm glad I was driving fairly slow when this happened as it was quite an abrupt and startling change in driving position and seems quite dangerous if driving at higher speeds or if someone has a different reaction to such an event.
The driver seat on my 2005 Nissan Murano s broke while driving. The left side track of the driver seat broke causing the seat to lean badly to the left forcing the driver against the door panel. Very dangerous to drive. I am not a large person (male 185lbs). Would like to know if Nissan can make this repair at no cost to me. I have heard of a lot of similar complaints on the same model.
Left seat initially stopped front to back movement. The right side would try to move but left would not move. Yesterday the seat broke loose on the left side. Repair estimate is $1000. 00. After spending time on line, it has come to my attention that this a well documented problem. I understand a safety bulletin has been issued but Nissan has not issued a recall for this issue. I believe this to be a serious safety issue as this part could break in an accident and cause serious injury to the driver.
The rear drivers seat has broke. The part is on the frame of the seat that is attached to the lift motor. Now it will not lift at all and I have had to use blocks to adjust the seat which is not safe but the repair is over $800.
I purchased my Murano in Jan 2013, the incident occurred in March 2013. My husband and I were driving last Sunday. As he was approaching a stop sign we heard a loud 'pop' under the driver's seat, we thought it was a spring or something. Upon getting home he discovered that the rear left bracket of the driver's seat had broken. I took it to the dealership the next morning and they told me to call Nissan north America (800-Nissan-1). I filed a claim and they called me back to inform me that they would be unable to replace the seat frame because the car is beyond factory warranty. The dealership quoted me $1000 to replace the broken bar. I bought the Murano when I was 9 months pregnant, in fact, I had my son a week after buying the vehicle. My husband wanted me to be in a bigger car, a safer car for me and my newborn. I'm upset that the seat broke, in my mind there are two things in a car that should never break: the seats and the seatbelts, but I'm disappointed that Nissan is not taking care of their customers and fixing the problem. Since this happended I have researched the broken seat and there are entire forums devoted to this incident! I've been a Nissan driver for nearly 10 years, this will be the last make of their car that I purchase.
Driver's side seat frame broken on outboard side.
While driving down the road the frame on the drivers seat broke causing the seat to fall back and to the left. Scared me and thought I was going to wreck but didn't. Then very difficult to maneuver the car to get home since you are sitting cocked to the side and back. Called Nissan and looked online as to recalls and there are none but several complaints were there regarding these seats. This is the 2nd time this has happened the first being earlier this year. Nissan said to bring it and pay to have it fixed. We had friend weld it cheaper than them. If the seat is faulty then there is no sense fixing it numerous times and they need to remake this part so it does not keep breaking, think they should recall since it is unsafe.
I was driving in my car, and the seat broke and leans back only on the left side, causing an unsafe driving position. While searching for a fix, apparently there are many other complaints in the Nissan Murano for exactly the same reason. I feel this is a major safety concern as my foot was removed from the pedals and I temporarily lost control of the vehicle until I realized exactly what happened. The current rocking of the seat during acceleration and braking causes the seat (and body) to sway, changing the pressure intended to be placed on the brakes and gas pedal.
Got in my car and felt the driver side seat tilt. The arm under the seat broke. This is a common problem as I have been reviewing the internet. Although there are no fatalities as of yet, it is a problem Nissan is aware of yet will not fix. It costs $500 at my Nissan dealer to fix the seat because it is "out of warranty". I know that this probably will just be put in a file but it would be nice if you could do something before some family out there will be missing a family member in death due to a fixable problem that Nissan refuses to deal with.
2005 Murano sl driver's seat left side suddenly dropped in the lower back. Investigation determined that the seat bracket broke. Dealer says there is a bulletin on repair but not a recall since not a safety issue. Driver is jumbled if a bump is hit & seat leans to toward whichever side weight is applied.
Driver seat broke from behind. If I seat down the seat wobbles up and down. Structural failure of the anchor/bracket on the left rear side of the driver's seat. Same as all the ones in the internet but still not enough for a recall. Nissan is waiting until a couple of people die to take action. I repaired mine but its the same kind so I think this will happen again. I will be taking the old frame to get worked on by a welder to invent something better because their is enough room for a stronger bracket but Nissan is only cutting cost with the original design. If you look at the other end of the bracket that always brakes it is stronger. I don't have anything against Nissan I have owned 4 Nissans and will still keep buying them but something like this. . . . . Come on guys don't cut corners.
I have a 2005 Nissan Murano that has had issues with the driver's side seat. There is a metal bar under the seat that breaks. Evidently this is a problem with many other owners of this year of vehicle and it doesn't make much sense that this is not part of a recall yet. This is very dangerous to be driving around with. I worked with my local Nissan dealership and they have had several customers with this same problem and they charge close to $1000 to repair. I have gone directly to Nissan to see if this would be something they would help cover the costs on since it is obviously a manufacturer defect, and one that has now been corrected on newer models, but they will not assist at all with the main reason being that I'm outside of my warranty. I'm very frustrated because I have taken great care of my vehicle. It currently only has about 65,000 miles on it. I am not an overweight person so that is not a contributing factor to this problem. I feel that if I were in a motor vehicle accident with my broken seat that would be extremely dangerous and maybe at that point Nissan would issue a recall on this problem but until that time their customers are left to pay $1000 in repairs for a faulty part on their vehicle that they're clearly aware of. I'm hoping you can help rectify this problem with Nissan. Thank you for your time.
Drivers seats are broken on a lot of Muranos. Complaints on line all years. Airbag light won't go off.
When sitting in the driver's seat, I heard a breaking noise and the seat gave way on the left side. Upon further inspection, the frame on the bottom left of the driver's seat has broken causing the driver to sit in a dangerous and potentially harmful position when operating the vehicle. Contacted a Nissan dealer and was told only fix was to purchase a new seat which would cost $1,700 - $2,000.
Left rear anchor of the drivers seat broke going over a speed bump.
Drivers seat bracket broke making seat unstable and unsafe. This is a known issue with Nissan, as newer model Murano's have a reinforced bracket. Nissan refuses to address the issue, or issue a recall.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the weld on the driver side seat was broken. The contact could sit in the seat but the seat would rock back and fourth. The contact was concerned that if involved in a crash, the seat could possibly be used as a projectile. The contact called the manufacturer regarding the front driver seat and they stated that there was nothing they could do to assist. The failure mileage was 72,000.
While driving at highway speed (55mph), the drivers seat suddenly fell backwards. Luckily, it was only fell back on the left side. If both sides had broken, my wife might have lost control of the vehicle. Looking at the seat, there is a cross bar at the bottom of the seat back that had one side shear off. . Read more...
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. While the contact was driving approximately 40 mph, the front driver seat moved forward. The vehicle was driven to the side of the road where the contact noticed that the front driver seat mounting bracket was fractured, however he was able to resume operation cautiously. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 139,000. Updated 09/27/11 the consumer stated the seat is no longer firmly attached to the car. Due to a broken seat bracket. Updated 09/30/11.
The drivers side seat frame broke causing the seat to be unstable during braking. I contacted the Nissan dealer at the time and he stated it was not covered under the warranty and recommended I find someone to weld the seat frame.
Driver side front seat broken frame.
