The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while his wife was at a complete stop, another vehicle who was driving approximately 25 mph, crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The contact’s wife veered to the side of the road. The automatic collision notification (acn) safety feature designed to connect a driver to a live response specialist who can request emergency services on the driver’s behalf in the event of a collision, failed to engaged. The contact’s wife then pressed the sos button connected to the automatic collision notification (acn) safety feature but the acn failed to respond. The contact’s wife was able to drive to her residence. The contact contacted Nissanconnect and tested the sos button functionality; however, Nissanconnect confirmed that they were not receiving any communication from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The contact’s wife, who has hypertension, was transported to the hospital with the assistance of her husband. A police report was filed. There were no injuries sustained. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the case was escalated to Nissan regional specialist. The manufacturer informed the contact that they would follow up with him. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 16,600.
