My car is currently in the dealership due to excessive water damage after a rainstorm this month. I noticed the issue when I opened the door and the car smelled of mildew. When I inspected the vehicle, there was a large puddle in the spare tire compartment and the carpets in the back of the car and back passenger areas are soaked. The padding under the spare tire was soaked. I noticed water coming out of the seatbelt area and back vents. I am extremely frustrated because I noticed some dampness in the back carpet two weeks ago and since the car was under warranty, I asked the dealer to check it out (they were already repairing the ac which was also faulty) they said they cleared the drains but it obviously wasn't effective. This appears to be an issue with the Nissan Murano design as the same exact issue occurred with my 2019 Murano which was totaled by the insurance company due to concerns that the water caused damage to the wiring. In looking at the NHTSA site it appears that there have been numerous issues with the moonroof including water damage and spontaneous shattering. I am shocked that there has not been a recall of these vehicles.
