The contact stated that she attempted to use her divers assist , however it was not working. The contact stated that when she took her vehicle to the dealer to have her brakes repaired , she was advised that her brake may intermittingly fail , and that she needed to replace the abs motor . The contact stated that she did have her vehicle repaired , however she was advised that there was a recall on the same model vehicle , for a different year , for the failure she was experiencing. The contact stated that she then contacted the dealer , who advised her that there was no open campaign on her model , so there was nothing that could be done. The failure mileage was 54,436.

For the second time my front collision braking system sensor has come on and disengaged my cruise control while I have been traveling at a high rate of speed on the highway. Dealership has confirmed this code when taken into shop. This could cause the car to brake suddenly while driving. Nissan has not issued a recall. I have been quoted over $1200. 00 to fix. This has been reported on many occasions. Why hasn't a recall been issued? I am now afraid to drive my vehicle with this faulty sensor.

The emergency braking system shuts off with no warning and in turn deactivates the adaptive cruise control. This has happened several times and the last occurrence happened on a two lane highway in clear weather conditions with an 18-wheeler following in close proximity. When I brought the vehicle to the mechanic at the dealership, the code showed that the distance sensor �must be replaced� because it was out-of-date. When I asked the manufacturer of the car to pay for the replacement, they refused. I have dealt with four people at the corporate office and they refuse to pay the $1400 to replace the faulty factory original part. Also note, I have replaced the transmission two times in 9 months on this vehicle and those were covered under the certified pre-owned warranty. I am beginning to suspect I have a lemon.

I purchased this vehicle from the local Nissan dealer in October 2019. Since then, the forward emergency braking system continually turns off within just a few miles of driving the car. This also shuts down the cruise control to the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle back to the Nissan dealership several times where I had to pay for them to replace the radar sensor that controls the system. It did not help and the problem occurs still every single time I drive the vehicle. The only way to re-engage the system is to stop the vehicle and turn off the engine and then start the vehicle back up. This is the same system that has caused numerous problems with the Nissan rogue. The question below is not for when did this happen, it is more of a case of when hasn't this happened? this vehicle is an absolute lemon and should not be available to the public.

When driving on the highway with the cruise control on, the icc system will beep, flash a warning message and turn the cruise control off automatically. The warning message says, "front radar unavailable due to obstruction. � then, the cruise control and front radar are no longer available to use until the system re-sets itself or the car is turned off. I have a 2018 Nissan Murano platinum awd. I will be driving on cruise control and it will turn off and the collision light lights up and car will come to a stop. The warning system gives a clue as to what is going on, it says radar obstruction. This happens at any speed, at random, with or without cruise control and has been happening many times a day for months, sometimes with the car behind me almost hitting my car because of the fault of the system. I took it to hgreg delray Nissan and they basically blew me off as if it wasn't an issue. The service manager actually told me to drive it and when the light comes on bring it back to him. They didn't even do a test drive! well, I left that dealer since they are unwilling to help out with what I think is a severe motor vehicle safety issue. I will continue my quest to get this fixed at another Nissan dealer. I have heard of a few people with the same issue having some success when the dealer has replaced the radar sensor.

The forward emergency braking system light will randomly come on both when the cruise control is on or not in use. If the cruise is on, the car will automatically slow. The Feb light then disables the cruise control. Vehicle is in motion at any speed.

Normal driving at any speed at any time a warning will beep and show the collision light and a display will read "unavailable front radar obstruction" it happens as early as a few hundred feet of driving up to a few miles. When this happens the cruise control will disenguage while driving or not work at all and the distance sensor quits making the car not slow down behind other vehicles. The car will just start slowing down on the interstate when this warning activates for no reason if the cruise is on and being used.

As I'm driving down the freeway with my cruise control on, a front collision warning indicator on the dashboard will appear which causes the cruise control to turn off resulting in braking/slowing on the freeway unexpectedly. This is a serious issue and is a concern for me and my family's safety as we are out driving on the roads. When it happens, there is nothing on the road or obstructing the sensor from performing its task.

While driving with cruise control set at 80, I passed a vehicle and as I began to return to the driving lane from the passing lane, the control panel beeped and a warning "front radar unavailable due to obstruction" appeared and the vehicle immediately decelerated drastically and the cruise control was disengaged and disabled. I had to react quickly to avoid a rear collision by accelerating rapidly. There were no vehicles in front of me or on either side. The cruise was disabled for about 4-5 minutes. This happened a total of 12 times in a 5. 5 hour trip. I googled the problem and realized that it was ongoing for many years and involved a recall on other vehicles, but not mine. I took it to a dealer where they indicated a faulty icc module that I am having to replace at a cost of over $1000. (it is being fixed today so I do not have the invoice yet. ) this is dangerous and should be a recall part before someone gets killed or seriously injured.

I was driving for the first time in this vehicle on interstate with cruise control activated and the car sensor speed control set to the lowest setting. I changed lanes to pass a car, and after passing, signaled to return back to the lane. The car suddenly beeped and a warning appeared "front radar unavailable due to obstruction" and the car suddenly deactivated the cruise control and braked. There were no vehicles in front or beside me. I floored the accelerator so that the car behind me didn't hit me. It happened several more times, so I turned off the cruise control until I could safely stop and check the manual to see what happened. I googled the warning and immediately saw that this was a common problem. On my return home it happened at least 8 times with no warning in a 3 hour trip. The cruise control remains deactivated for a period of time before you can engage it again.

When traveling at highway speeds with the cruise control set, the intelligent cruise control malfunctions along with the predictive forward braking causing sudden deceleration. This has almost gotten me into several rear end collisions at highways speeds that could have caused major wrecks.

Vehicle losses speed and power while locked in cruise control at highway speeds. Has occurred more than 7 times, once nearly caused my vehicle to be rear ended by following truck. Vehicle engine over revs and losses speed and power. Slowing from 74 mph to 58mph with engine speed increasing from 1600 rpm to over 4500 rpm. Has been back to dealer over 7 times and have gotten same response, it's not coding , so they can't fix or give a reason why this occurs. Vehicle is a safety hazard to operate on the highway as it can accelerate or lose power and slow rapidly into an accident. Unavailable front radar obstruction error intermittently . Cruise control is disabled.

Distance sensor, part # 28438-5aa0b, located in front bumper, is defective again. This distance sensor is tied in with the cruise control. As of yesterday, I have no cruise control on this vehicle--again. This is the second one on this vehicle, and this one lasted less than 90 days. The original one in the car lasted just three years. The dealership charged me over $1500 to replace it.

I just purchased a 2018 Nissan Murano platinum "as is" with no warranty. After driving I am now noticing a beep and message across dash that says "unavailable front radar obstructed. " cruise control is not even on. I researched the problem and found it is a very widespread problem with several Nissan models. I am so frustrated now. I am afraid to use cruise control which I like to use from time to time when traveling. If there is a fix I don't feel that I should have to pay for it. This is a problem Nissan has known about due to a defective part. Not sure where to go from here or what to do.

Warning comes on "unavailable front radar", happens no matter what the outside conditions. Disables the cruise control. Sometimes I can recycle and the cruise will start to work again and sometimes I have to wait several minutes to be able to reactivate. Automatic braking is also disabled during this time. Happens at any speed.

Intelligent cruise control front radar sensor continuously alarming for obstruction which renders the cruise control unusable and does not provide any front crash protection. This occurs anytime I am following a car and move to pass a car, the system will alarm for obstruction which can take up to 1/2 hour before it resets.

We purchased our 2019 Nissan Murano on September 12, 2019 and soon noticed that when driving down even a gentle down-slope with no vehicle in front of it, the cruise control gains 10-15+ mph. Nissan engineering says that this is "normal" and not to use the cruise control on hills. We have owned many cars with cruise control, and none has ever gained more than 4-5 mph on similar down-slopes. We feel that this is a safety issue. For example, apparently Audi, Mercedes Benz and Subaru all have cruise control systems that limit speed increase downgrade to about 2 mph. It seems that an almost $50,000 car from Nissan should be as safe.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the cruise control engaged, the traction control and collision mitigation warning lights illuminated. The automatic emergency braking engaged and the cruise control was disengaged. The contact had to depress the accelerator pedal for the vehicle to resume normal operation. The vehicle was taken to Nissan of north olmsted (28500 lorain rd, north olmsted, OH 44070) where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the distance sensor was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.

The distance sensor, located below the front bumper, failed. This "distance sensor" is integral to the crash avoidance system. The sensor , along with the cruise control, maintains a safe distance between my car and the car directly ahead of me. When this sensor failed, I had no cruise control and the concept of keeping a safe distance ahead of me disappeared. This sensor failed driving down a busy interstate highway.

While driving, a safety light keeps coming 'unavailable front radar obstruction'. This happens even without anything blocking the radar. This also controls the cruise control and if not working cc gets disabled. It also controls emergency braking.

My barely 3 year old vehicle recently began displaying a warning that the anti collusion system was not functional and I noticed this also disabled and disengaged the cruise control resulting in sudden deceleration . This problem seems to reset when car is started and reoccurs after 15 or 20 minutes driving . I took the car to a Nissan dealership service dept both reps at the desk told me the problem was a recall on the less expensive more common rogue model but not on the Murano which used the very same components and also told me it was very expensive to fix . I searched on line and on numerous sites found it was a very common serious defect with a bosch supplied sensor on the radar . Why are they fixing one model but not the same defect on the Murano . This is a driving safety feature I considered essential to my purchase and when suddenly fails disengaging cruise control presents a very dangerous situation . The manufacturer is well aware of the issue and insists I pay to diagnosis and at this point pay a very large repair bill to repair ,,,,unacceptable !.

June 7 2019 Murano platinum 21,470 miles driving @various speeds, in any weather, a warning light comes on that reads "front radar unavailable due to obstruction". I have checked the sensor and nothing is obstructing it. It will stay on for a few minutes and then shut off, only to come on again. When this happens, the cruise control shuts off without warning creating a hazardous situation in traffic with sudden deceleration. This warning comes on multiple times during any normal driving on street, highways, byways, or standing still. - inverness, FL, USA.

Radar collision detection issues. Ever since I bought this car in 2017, we've been receiving periodic warnings "front radar unavailable due to obstruction" and it seems like the issue is getting worse. On a 2 hour drive on the interstate this past weekend, we would see the message over 10 times and this causes the cruise control to stop. This seems to most often occur if there is a vehicle in front of us that changes lanes. This issue also occurs driving around town, it's not only on the highway. This is really impacting our safety because the warning message scares whoever is driving that something is wrong. I have told Nissan of this issue as early as summer 2019 and they made adjustments, but it isn't fixed. They are not willing to cover this under warranty. Please help. I don't know what to put in the 'when did this happen' field because this has been an ongoing issue.

The cruise control system fails - it is turns off automatically. The error message on the dashboard display say's the front radar system stopped working. This happens arbitrarily and without prior warning regardless of day or night or weather conditions. The system will be operable again in 10 or 15 minutes. My car is still under warranty. I reported the problem to Nissan. They said it is a known problem and they are researching the cause. However Nissan didn't alert me to the problem. I have no evidence Nissan is really working on a solution. This is a safety issue because when the radar system stops the cruise control system shuts down and the car begins to decellerate. Under certain conditions this may startle or confuse the driver and lead to panic or abrupt manuvers.

On any roadway (city street highway interstate in motion) warning light displays unavailable front radar obstruction while cruise control is on. Then cuts cruise control off and slows vehicle down. Warning continues intermittently while driving with cruise control off or on. Cruise control will not work with warning on. If vehicle is turned off and restarted light turns off only to return again. Seems to be when driving 40 mph or above that this happens. Checked vehicle and there is no obstruction.

Cruise control kicks off while driving and causes deceleration. Will not come back on until the car is stopped, turned off, then turned back on. Wet weather makes it a lot worse. Has progressively gotten worse. Will kick off at least twice within an hour drive typically. Unacceptable and needs to be fixed.

The abe warning light (orange) displays and the warning message �unavailable front radar obstruction� appears randomly. This happens sporadically and intermittently while driving under various conditions (highway, street, turning, lane changes, straight ahead in one lane, seems to be at speeds of 40 mph and above and occurs with cruise control activated or not activated ). After pulling over, stopping and turning the vehicle off, the warning light does go off. The abe warning light also will go off on its own within a few minutes without having stopped the vehicle. In any case, upon inspection of the area of the front bumper where the sensor is located, there is no obstruction (no dirt or other substance or object). Note: if this warning scenario occurs while the cruise control is activated, the cruise control is instantly inactivated and the car begins to slow immediately. This problem started around September 2018. I purchased the car in December 2017.

Continually getting error message saying "unavailable front radar obstruction". Took to dealer and they said it was fine after clearing the code. Drove away from dealer and it did it again. Took it back and they now say Nissan is "engineering" the problem and don't recommend a fix. Took it on the highway and was passing another vehicle at 75mph when it went off and it disabled my cruise control. That was quite startling and is potentially dangerous. Called Nissan corporate office and filed a case. They don't seem to acknowledge the problem, yet I see others are having the same problem when I check forums on the internet.

The camera on the front of my vehicle had to be replaced because it was damaged by something off the road cracking the lenses and, as a result, causing my cruise control not to function properly as well. I could not use my driving safety controls that controlled distances between vehicles also. This was a poor design flaw and was not covered under my original warranty period of 3 year/36000 miles. We have had the issue(s) fixed but there is nothing to prevent it from happening again. We will probably not buy another Nissan product again even though this is our sixth consecutive purchase from Nissan.
