Drivers seat is not sitting right almost seems like it came unhinged. Driving on a short distance trip I noticed that every time I needed to turn and it the road was windy I could smell fuel and it seems like I was loosing gas as I was driving like it was punchard or spilling some how. . I'm no mechanic but as a pregnant woman I was absolutely nauseous from going only an hour away. Also it seemed like I would periodically loose power and at one point actually had to pull over and let the vehicle air out and cool down. Seems like the was a situation with the coolant as well had to replace the cap and it looks as though that had been a issue with the previous owner as well.

Car shut off while driving 60 miles per hour on the hwy. Battery light was on but I just had it checked and it was good. Seat belt light was also on but I had mine on and there were no other passengers. The collision light has repeatedly come on and off since I bought the vehicle new.

I bought this Nissan Murano after the owner of suncoast quality cars gives me the nada - consumers report, which states the car was scored as an 82, in "good condition" with major repairs needed. After picking the Murano up 1-week after I made the purchase, when driven more than a couple of miles, you could feel the transmission slipping. While the owner of suncoast said that his mechanic had done a full diagnostic test and had confirmed nada's scoring, just to make sure I took it to courtesy Nissan of tampa and paid for their certified Nissan mechanics to do a full diagnostic test. Courtesy Nissan's diagnostic test revealed that the transmission would need to be replaced, which while I did purchase a used car warranty from suncoast, the car has been out of commission since roughly a week after receiving delivery from suncoast. When I contacted bart pilipajc (owner) by email on 4-separate occasions, from 2-separate email addresses, and text, he states he never received them. Given the owner's approach, and refusing to own up to his lies, or take any kind of responsibility here, I would like a full refund, as I would have never purchased the car, if I knew it had a major safety issue and would have to have the transmission replaced immediately after delivery, and I most certainly wouldn't have paid the price of a car that nada stated was in "good condition", as the cost of the transmission is actually 65% of the price I paid for the car. With the transmission needing to be replaced, the same measuring tool (nada) that suncoast used to sell me the car, actually states the car is worth thousands-less. Problems with Nissan Murano cvt transmission - transmission slips with loss of power/acceleration while in traffic, then jerks or lurches forward. No codes (dtc) registered for the symptoms. Dangerous for myself and other drivers as this occurs without warning. Fortunate not to end up in an accident. Nissan manuals do not recommend precautions or service for this. Now faced with all repair costs.

2011 Nissan Murano, transmission issues. This is the second time I have had to report this problem, please also refer to my first complaint #11474221 on this vehicle for the same problem. When at a stop, and pushing the gas pedal to move forward, there is a hesitation or two before the vehicle moves forward. This is a big problem when trying to enter a highway, after a stop sign. With giving enough distance to merge, having the hesitation issue has almost caused an accident. This hesitation occurs in town driving and hi-way. The dealership crown Nissan (greensboro, nc) diagnosis indicated that the transmission was failing and needed to be replaced. Our local Nissan shop ordered a new transmission directly from Nissan, and installed into our car, by mechanics that were trained by Nissan. Received Murano back with replaced new transmission, and within two days it was hesitating again. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and it was confirmed that the ‘new’ transmission that was installed, was defective and when driving, also had the hesitation issue. A 2nd new transmission was ordered from Nissan, installed by Nissan trained mechanics, and delivered two weeks later. We received our Murano back on oct. 12, 2022 and when driving it there was a slight hesitation, but then started to buck very hard… I’m surprised that I don’t have whiplash. The 2nd new transmission installed is a ‘lemon’ as it is worse than the original and the 1st new replacement, by bucking as well as the hesitation. Our Nissan Murano appears to be unfixable, as the company keeps sending transmissions that have serious flaws and will eventually hurt or kill someone. Where do we go from here, especially since we have paid off the loan a year ago.

For over a year, I have experienced hesitations of movement when needed to have acceleration from a complete or rolling stop. When driving, I’ve pushed on the gas pedal to accelerate & there was a long two second hesitation (lack of propulsion) before the Murano resumed forward movement. There was also a loss of acceleration (speed/movement) while merging into very heavy traffic on a busy main road, & that could have caused an accident. Every time there was a hesitation of movement when pushing on the gas pedal, it could have been a disaster. I have been having this ‘hesitations of movement’ for over a year. I have insisted that mechanics need to drive it, so they too can experience this problem. They have driven the Murano many times, but haven’t been able to experienced it. After bringing the Murano into my service station for months about this problem, today after an oil change at oakview auto service, the head mechanic took my Nissan Murano for a test drive & the ‘hesitation’ happened to him. So if needed chris at oakview auto can confirm that this problem has been happening, that we have asked about diagnosing this problem, & he experienced as well. This service station has been in business for over 40 years, and they have had many other customers bring their Nissan Murano to them, with the complaint of ‘hesitation of movement. While there has been problems documented (& recalled) with Nissan’s transmissions in the past, they have yet to include the 2011 Murano. Nissan needs to address this hesitation issue now.

Our 2011 Nissan Murano is garaged & serviced (not at dealer as their rates for labor & parts is crazy high) & has been a great SUV, until it had problems monthswith the acceleration in certain situations. This would happen when stopping at a red light or stop sign in town. We’d push on the acceleration~gas & the Murano wouldn’t respond…would do a slow count of 4 to 5, & the Murano would then accelerate slowly until reaching the posted speed limit. This act is dangerous as if merging or passing with a loss of acceleration in a crowded road would be a perfect storm of multiple accidents & injuries. On the highway, we would be driving & pressing the gas pedal like normal when all of a sudden the car wouldn’t respond & seemed like it was coasting or put in neutral, it would come back after a slow count of 4 to 5 seconds, & would slowly get to the speed limit. This has happened several times on the highway with speed limit listed @70mph. Imaging that you are driving along with traffic at 70mph when all of sudden the SUV stopped accelerating, & there is a big truck right behind you, & it’s continuing at the speed limit. Because of the acceleration issue, we were almost rear ended by a semi & could have killed us both. On the highway this has only happened a few times, compared to starting from a stop sign or red light which happens frequently each week. There is no warning or lights that this is going to happen, which makes it worse. The mechanic and shop that I have been using for over 35 years, has had several Murano’s with the same problem, & suggested the transmission might be failing, they also said to research this issue & ask Nissan. With living in a small town, the % of Murano’s having the same problem should trigger a paid recall, no matter the mileage or age if serviced regularly. This has been happening for months, & also with other years of the Murano design. Please read all of the owner’s comments about this issue, of not accelerating when needed.

Vehicle shutdown while driving in the middle of the road while using a new battery. Fuel pump not reading fuel tank. Vehicle stalls specially whenever acceleration starts after stopping.

Upon initial state safety inspection for brand new car, Nissan service reported metal shavings were found in oil pan and oil was shiny. Check engine light and oil light were not on when car was presented for inspection, and would not go off. Servicer reported that the long block engine was replaced (did not obtain consent or inform me of what the defect was) and work summary stated problem with oil pump. For the week I drove the car, I could sometimes smell funny smell when exiting vehicle after turning off the engine, but attributed it to new car smells.

Power loss on take off. Issue has been occurring for over a year and is intermittent. When starting off from a stopped position, ie stop sign, red light, or highway onramp, the vehicle will engage, but immediately loose acceleration. The gas peddle can be fully pressed, with no reaction. After a few seconds the power gets restored and vehicle takes off as if engaging a jet booster. A visit and diagnostic check at a Nissan dealer, did not reveal and faults or codes, and issue could not be recreated. This issues is random, and based on a Nissan owner forum, I learned it has plagued the Murano and is lexis counter part for different model years. No forum entries as to known cause or corrective findings by the dealerships or mechanics.

The vehicle stops accelerating for no reason all the cars dash lights light up the speedometer and other gauges go down to zero and the vehicle will go forward at idle speed while in drive the power steering gets extremely stiff and this happens on the freeway! I had my great nieces in the car we were going 73 when the vehicle decided to basically act like it stalled but was still running we almost got hit by a semi we were sitting ducks on a freeway during rush hour. My hazards wouldn't even work. I had to shit the car off turn it back ok and when I did it accelerated really fast on its own and I couldn't steer it was construction area we came inches from hitting a concrete barrier. I finally got it over tot he side of the road shaking and scared out of my mind my great nieces were crying 😢 as the semis are flying by us and one had to slam on his breaks to try not to run into us nearly killing us please figure this out and fix this issue. I'm scared to drive it.

Vehicle infrequently surges when initially pressing down on the gas pedal. Also it happens when driving and pulling up behind vehicles at stop signs or traffic lights. It caused an accident when trying to park in a tight spot. Surge when trying to ease forward caused vehicle to run onto stone wall. Not an accident involving an personal injury but potential is there for a serious accident. Unreliable acceleration is a potentially dangerous issue. A second occasion was in traffic after merging off a freeway. Several cars were waiting at stop sign. As each pulled out we all eased up. When I tried to ease up it surged on me and almost put me into rear of car in front of me.

The Cadillac converters are junk and you guys oughta be ashamed of yourself for not recall and I'm on all the ones that they've all had problems with because there's been several and it's not a cheap fix just had one fix now the other 2 went out and I haven't even had the vehicle 30 days.

Around 100,000 miles would not accelerate when traveling an incline or after stopping and restarting at a red light or stop sign, even while gas pedal was to the floor. When the car finally decided to move it would surge. Also while idling stationary and shutting the car off, it failed to restart. Head lights started blinking, a clicking noise could be heard coming from engine. The car would have to be jumped off. Battery checked and is not the issue.

I was driving my car on the interstate when the check engine light came on when I hit the gas the car didn't want to go into gear brought the car to the repair shop and the me mechanic told me that this car has a recall for the transmission and engine problems just want to know if this is correct because no one will fix it for me.

From time to time the vehicle unexpectedly stalls. Engine does not die but power to transmission is lost. Vehicle will not rev unless it is put into park or neuteral. When transmission is engaged stepping on the accelerator produces no rpms. Vehicle costs to side of road and problem is sometimes remidied with shutting off the engine and restarting other times I have had to have it towed to a repair shop where I have been told there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.

Total loss of electrical power while driving. Engine dies lights go out vehicle rolls to a stop. Put vehicle in park and electrical power return with no further action. My family has owned a 2007 Nissan Murano for nearly 8 years. In the last year, my wife has experienced extreme trauma as she has had the vehicle completely die on her while in the middle of freeways, highways, and residential roads. We have had the vehicle taken in and inspected by multiple Nissan dealerships and each visit has only resulted in their recommendation of routine maintenance being suggested, such as transmission fluid exchange, brake repair, or battery replacement. Our Murano has recently decided to repeat these same issues after over a year of normal function. My wife was driving the vehicle normally and all of a sudden she began to lose power until the car came to a stop and the function of the vehicle stopped due to what appeared to be an electrical problem. After assessing the issue, I attempted to jump start the vehicle with jumper cables, which allowed the Murano to start, but once it was independently idling, it would again lose power after an attempt to drive the vehicle. I am heavily concerned for the welfare of my wife and daughter as they drive this car daily. The Nissan dealerships that I typically rely on for these critical repairs have been no help and I am at a loss for why this has happened with such a long time frame between issues. I hope that Nissan will issue a recall on this problem and rectify any prior repairs that have been suggested as a resolution to the issue that may very well have not resolved the true issue at hand. I am in dire need of answers as to why a well maintained vehicle would be fine one minute and then completely inoperable the next. The vehicle has had many components replaced and maintained to prolong the life of the vehicle and with 180k miles has the potential to continue for many more. I don't want to pour money into this issue that Nissan needs to address, as I am not the only one having dealt with this!.

Car is sluggish at take off and makes a horrible rattling noise once I've accelerated at 20 miles and more. Very loud.

I'm concerned about the vehicle's safety due to the fact that the engines stops while driving on the road. No warning lights or anything indicating a problem.

Takata recall: my car keeps stalling!! the whole left side driver side electrical doesn't work signal,headlights, brake lights my car is shaking on the highway.

During the hot summer months in the phoenix arizona area I've experienced hesitation (especially in traffic) when either moving slowly along or traffic picks up or turning and I have to mash harder on the accelerator, sometimes 2-4 times!!! this is frightening !! what is the problem as I've checked filters, gas, intake? and asked mechanic ???.

I was riding on the highway and almost got hit a couple of times. My car just stalled an shut down. It is a hazard cause myself and my kids could have gotten killed. I have a new serpentine belt , battery is good an alternator is good. My car was driving then all of a sudden it just stalled.

Stalls: this vehicle was recalled for stalls and the problem never went away,(not sure if the repairs was really done). The stalls are becoming worse!!!! problem: when the vehicle is driven for more than 15 minutes and it comes to a complete stop, (at traffic light, in city or anywhere) the vehicle sporadicly stall when the accelerator is pressed. If the road has a slight incline the stall is more eminent, so that the vehicle won't move even when the accelerator is pressed to the floor. The only two things that remedy the situation a) place the vehicle in reverse [very dangerous->city driving], b) turn the engine off then restart the vehicle [also very dangerous]. This problem has been ongoing since 2007 but it is getting worse.

Seat support is broken on the drivers side causing the driver my son, to shift to the left while driving the car. A dealer sold this used car as is and covered a wooden block that supported the seat with cloth to disguise the problem. After looking at this site I found over 700 complaints. The seat is compromised and it's a manufacturers safety defect. If an accident were to occur the driver could be thrown into the dash or worst because of a already broken driver seat support. Why should consumers not be made aware of this safety concern and the manufacture required to do a proper fix? is the seat belt designed to hold the passenger and the seat in place during an accident?.

Takata recall I am not sure why my VIN is not recall as yet. The car accelerates on occasion. I replave all coils now every 2 months because thats how long they are lasting Nissan weston florida has not been able to figure out why the car keeps burning coils out. This feels so dangerous to me on the hoghway I do not know if it is the transmission or computer its very scary.

My 2003 Murano se/sl aawhen I first start the engine it makes a sound like it has no oil or engine is choking but its starts but if engine is idling for 5 mins or so its shut off but I can start it again but after when im driving engine just dies off amd wont start again for about 5 mins. That problems has been going on constantly when im on the road with my children or by myself last week I was driving my son to school and I was waiting to turn left and once I was turning my Murano died off in the middle of the road luckily the on coming traffic had a red light so I had a chance to push it of the intersection, one other time I was picking up dinner amd engine just died off on me while I was making a right turn and gear couldnt be released of drive and key wouldn't turn either some how while I was jerking the key I was able to shift to park and key was released that time I was lucky another vehicle stopped next to me and turn their emergency hazard light because my car seemed like the vehicle wasnt responding at all not even jump starting worked and after 20 25 mims it just started againg . Ive already fixed the faulty code but it still does it and now the cam and crank shaft codes appeared.

Was concern about the seat it goes,up but leaks,down and ,rocks like it is broke, the airbag light keeps flashing and wont stop,jumpy accelertion, and replacing front brake can be costly. I bought this vehicle and according to internet by VIN# printed out no recalls, shows now I see it had recalls what can I do to get this taken care of? driving down the road the seat felt like it was changing the height and I had to keep readjusting it, I then stopped and went to get out and it rocked. I weigh 100lbs so I could not have broken it.

I was driving at about 30 mph on a city street and all the dash lights came on including the brake light, car would not accelerate and steering wheel locked like it had no power steering. Pulled over, parked, turned off car, waited a minute. Turned car back on and all dash lights were off again. Drove for a mile to see if it would happen again and it did not. What the hell, @Nissan? I had my children in the car. That's not safe for a car to just turn off like that.

I drive a 2013 Nissan Murano sv awd with just over 72,000 miles. Before yesterday, I never had one issue with the vehicle. It has been very reliable. While driving Murano on 8/22/18 it suddenly would barely accelerate when pressing accelerator on a city street. The Murano who jerk and the speed would only increase slowly. The rpm's though would jump over 6000. Once vehicle got up to speed it would stay if left on cruise control. If I had to stop at a light/sign problem would start all over again. I would not take on freeway during rush hour stop and go traffic, so I drove 32 miles home on surface streets. It took me 2 hours and I irritated many other drivers because my Murano was being so erratic. If I tried to accelerate after idling at a stop it would jerk and barely accelerate. If I stopped and turned off the engine at a stop and then restart and put in a drive once light was green, then the car would still accelerate slowly; however, it was still sluggish, jerking and rpm's were high. The dealership said Nissan extended warranty on cvt transmissions from 08-12 to 10 year/100,000 mile. I cannot find anything that officially state models later than �12 are under this warranty; however, there are many consumer reports detailing the same issues in vehicles after �12. My car that had less than 60,000 miles on it has had to have the antilock brake system replaced, the transmission replaced, the leather seats have tears on both sides of the rear seat, the windshield has over a dozen chips in it and most recently, when driving, my gas gauge went to empty although I had just filled it up less than 16 hours earlier and had not done any driving. I pulled over on the side of the highway, turned my car off and back on and the gauge reset itself. My car is now out of warranty and I'm waiting for the next major thing to happen.
