1 Suspension Noise problem of the 2019 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 11/01/2020

Starting in November 2020, my 2019 Murano has an unexplained clunking/clatter noise when going over small bumps in the road. It sounds as if it is the sway bar bushings but the dealers are not properly diagnosing it. The technicians take a ride with me in the vehicle and clearly hear and acknowledge an abnormal noise. However they proceed to drive another used vehicle and determine it is normal behavior. The problem is that there was no abnormal suspension noises when it was new and any new one also lacks the noise. One dealer proceeded to say it was because the power steering is fuel injected. Not only is that statement false it doesn't make sense since the power steering is hydraulic. Nissan has been informed but doesn't take responsibility, and also refuse to repurchase or replace my vehicle. Others on the online Murano forums see my videos of the noise and also say they have that issue and dealers provide the same "normal behavior" reasons. I feel this should be investigated as a potential manufacturing defect and a potential safety issue. A vehicle with 20,000 miles should not have any suspension issues when there is no evidence of foul play. I am now having to pay out of pocket to have a suspension shop diagnose the issue.

2 Suspension Noise problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 02/04/2019

Driving on a slick highway the rearend of the Murano was fishtailing. The rear suspension was making noises, and the steering wheel was suddenly way off center. I took it to a local mechanic to inspect. It was noted the the rear swaybar had separated from the rear crossmember /subframe and the subframe was rusted and cracked and rusted through to failure. The vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive, and was told to immediately stop driving it. The rear wheels were tilted outward and a big safety hazard. Subframe near total separation from vehicle. Murano is now a total loss. Cost to repair too extensive.

3 Suspension Noise problem of the 2018 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 10/10/2018

All the noises occur occasionally and not all the time: 1. Steering column makes a metal clunking noise while turning and accelerating on cold start. Occurs when pulling out from driveway or parking spot. 2. Steering column makes a metal clunking noise when accelerating from a complete stop. Occurs when car is already warmed up, driven for 10 mins. 3. Steering column makes a metal clunking noise when going into driveway or bumps. Occurs when car is already fully warmed up, driven for more than 10 mins. Brought into Nissan stevens creek, said there was nothing visually wrong, went for a test drive, couldn't replicate, said they would lubricate steering column. Monitor until problem gets worse. Brought into Nissan dublin, said they inspected steering components and torqued everything, could not find anything wrong. Stated, I still had warranty, if things went wrong. My concern is that something is not connected properly in the suspension or steering column which could result in a crash if I am going on the highway or backroads through the snow.
