Car stalled out and won't restart.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered. The check engine warning light was illuminated along with other several unknown warning light. Additionally, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
While driving on us 95 in DC, MD and NJ, when the traffic became stop and go, my SUV could not get into 1st gear to go. The engine revved, the car shook and made noises. Several times I came close to being rear-ended. This problem also occurs when starting after a red light, when accelerating on a highway (usually 3rd or 4th gear), and when turning left on a green arrow. Not only has it caused many close calls with being rear-ended, but it has also incited road rage in people who are driving behind me. Now I'm told I need a new transmission and also a new coolant system which leaks due to a fault in the system known by Nissan, and pollutes the transmission. This is a terrible safety threat and Nissan should own up to it and pay for the repairs.
Vehicle cuts off while driving and also from time to time, will hesitate or refuse to crank/start. Noticed a recall in 2010 for ecm, which is documented to have been repaired in 2014. However these exact same issues are taking place with the vehicle now in 2020, does this mean the repair was completed with yet another faulty ecm. This vehicle places my family in danger while driving.
Vehicle started to smoke, then caught on fire. Total loss 7/12/2020. Not an accident. Vehicle just caught on fire while driving.
Tl the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. While driving various speeds, the vehicle would shut off and fail to immediately restart on several occasions. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but the local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 190,000.
My engine stops while in motion. I was driving on the interstate at a speed of 60 and all of a sudden my truck just looses power, the dashboard turned off and speed started to lower I pushed on the gas and it wouldn't respond. I was able to steer to the shoulder, my emergency lights wouldn't even turn on. As I was calling my husband all of a sudden it turned on on it's on. It was a horrible experience. There was a recall they fix back on 2011 dealing with the ecm relay. I called viva Nissan on zaragoza located in el paso, TX and the girl wouldn't help she told me to call 1800nissan1.
Traqnsmittion oil in coolant had to have shop flush out raiadiator and coolant system and replace oil cooler transmition seems to be sliping.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. After the contact placed fuel in the vehicle, the contact restarted the engine and noticed that the fuel gauge indicator on the instrument panel showed empty. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer stated that the vehicle was not under warranty and the contact needed to pay for the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,377.
On 2-4-2017 my timing chain system began making a loud raddling noise.
I take my car in to nissian regularly and take very good care of it and doesn't have that many miles on in for how long I have owned it. I have been the only owner. Just had it serviced in febuary, all was perfect. It started making a awful when I g noise when you step on the gas pedal, turns out the timing chain is out and there has been a recall for some nissian cars for this not all. I called nissian corp and they said since I have no warranty they were not going to help, even though you guys have issued a safety warning (ndtb07-042). There also is a class action lawsuit against nissian for this same problem. It should be a recall for all nissian. Cars/trucks.
Parked Pathfinder in driveway. I went to leave and the vechicle won't start. Lights and everything turns on. The engine won't crank up. Looked up some issues with the Pathfinder and maybe there is a cross contamination of the engine coolant.
I am driving a group of CO-workers out for lunch. I pull in the turning lane to wait for an opportunity to turn. When it was time to make the turn, I pressed the gas and the truck did not move. I pressed the brake again to check and make sure I had not accidentally hit the gear stick. Everything looked right so I tried to give it gas again. The engine reved loudy but again there was hesitation in movement. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the truck slowly turned. I tried to drive back to the office but had the same issue. I would stop and as soon as I pressed the gas, it would take forever before I would actually take off. The truck moved at a very slow speed as if I was pulling a large load. Turns out it is my transmission. How upsetting when I had no previous warning. More upsetting when I begin to do my research and found out a CO-worker with the same year Pathfinder has the same problem and looking online it appears everyone with this model truck has had this issue or will eventually. Why is Nissan not doing something about this beyond continuously extending the warranty with huge CO-pays that at the end of the day do not really help the consumer? Nissan needs to do something about this. How long will it take for this complaint to be reviewed?.
Vehicle was stop at red light of very busy intersection. When light turned green the vehicle accelerated and then would only coast in neutral while transmission was not engaging. Wife and 3 children were stuck in middle of intersection. Had to turn the vehicle off and then on to get transmission to re-engage and drive. This issue happened a half dozen more times. This owner took vehicle to local Nissan dealer and was charged for computer analysis. This owner was told there was a "known" issue with transmission of this particular vehicle being contaminated from inner cooler. This owner was told that it would cost over $5500 to fix. This owner did intense research on safety and mechanical problem and found thousands of Nissan owners with same issue. This vehicle needs to be recalled for "known" issue.
My transmission is going out took it to the dealership and they change the transmission oil and a month later is still doing the same. Take it to another mechanic and he said the transmission oil was black and smelled old. The dealership ask when did I last change the oil and I had forgot the I had the quick lube place flush the transmission a couple of years ago. Call them back and told them what the other mechanic said and I took it back to the dealership and he said that not to bad we can only get so much out. The other mechanic flesh it and change the oil. I'm still having trouble with my transmission it goes real slow when backing up. I have keep my car up real good because I don't have the money to keep buying a new car.
As I was driving on a motor way, the car just start shaking and stopped in the middle of the road without prior warning from the dashboard. A message "service soon" started display on the dashboard. This seems like a transmission failure. I couldn't move the car from that spot on the motor way. I had the car towed to the mechanic and he diagnose the car and couldn't find any fault on the car. I am scare to drive the car and the car is still at the auto mechanic shop not know what the problem.
During the time I was driving the Pathfinder I notice that the transmission started pulling. I got into the turning lane to pull over to check it out but when I stopped and then try to turn the vehicle would not move more then 3 feet that left me in the middle of the road. Lucky no one was hurt but it could have been a bad situation if I was on a busy street.
Transmission went out as I was driving it on the highway.
My 2005 Nissan Pathfinder has on numerous occasions, just stopped running and turned off. It does this while sitting idle, say in line. It does this while driving down the street. It just turns off! now I'm having trouble re-starting it!.
I was driving about 40-45 m/h and the car stop acelerating, I took the car to the mechanic and he say it was the transmission($7. 000. 00) so I look it up in the internet and a lot of people have the same poblem.
We own a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder that my wife drives daily until a couple of weeks ago that the transmission gave up on us at exactly 100298 miles. She said that she was driving around 50 miles an our and that all of a sudden the SUV just quit and it would not go no further. Luckily there was no cars behind her because our daughters were with her at the time. So now I have a Pathfinder that does not run because I cant afford the six grand they are trying to charge me because I went over 298 miles.
I bought my 2005 Pathfinder in November of 2010 with 76k miles. Ever since I bought it ive been having issues with the transmisson that have slowly gotten worse. I went and got my transmission fluid changed at 98k miles and now it has left me sit. Still owing over 19k on the vehicle and paying over 400 dollars a month on a payment and now Nissan wants me to pay for the problem that they have known they had on a vehicle. Not cheap eaither, apple Nissan of york PA estimated over 6k to fix the problem. Complete bs. This needs to stop now and these problems need to be free of charge and recalled ASAP!! I will go as far as going to the district attorney generals office if need be.
I was driving on highway at 45 mph and suddenly there was no more speed as if the vehicle was being driven on neutral, there were cars behind but it was fortunate that it was at a distance where they were able to stop suddenly without crashing into us or each other. This type of vehicle is intended to transport several passengers and in my case I had my children with me. We bought this vehicle used as being our only financial option for a family of six. This has created huge trouble for our family since all of our savings went to the purchase of this SUV last year and we have no money to do repairs at time which are approximately $4,000. 00.
Going up a street with a low hill and the transmission didn't engage to gear making the vehicle to lose power and the was traffic in back of me, I was lucky enough to get room to pull to the side of the road.
Internal failure of cam/crankshaft sensor causing car to shut up without warning in rush hour traffic; car maintained speed; prayer to avoid crashing.
Transmission/raditor coolant cross contamination causing the Pathfinder to stop in the middle of the highway. My 2 year old son was in the child seat in the back seat of the vehicle.
2005 Nissan Pathfinder. Consumer writes in regards to a ecm relay, sensor and fuel standing unit. Consumer states there should not be a charge for replacement of a defective or malfunctioning unit.
I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and on Tuesday on my way to work the truck stop on me in the middle of freeway. According to Nissan there are no recalls on my vehicle but I received a letter for recall from them that I cant find. A gentleman help me get it to the side of the free way since there was a lot of traffic. And it die again. All the lights on the dashboard were blinking like crazy. The truck went back on and did it again on my way home barely got home and did not want to turn on again. Had to take it to the agency and they told me it was the ibpm control module. Which controls everything. So I been calling Nissan and they don't have any recalls according to them, but what about if it would of caused an accident. I felt my life was in danger.
Transmission gave out on me while traveling with family on highway. The problem was due to faulty parts Nissan has placed on the Pathfinder. My finding to the problems not only included transmissions problems not covered under warranty but also other defects in which they are unwilling to pay for. I hope it doesn't take for someone to die for them to get this is a serious problem. Americans are in danger due to this company and it's cars!.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The anti-freeze and the oil have mixed within the engine and caused the transmission to fail. The dealer said that this was a common problem. The current and failure mileages were 90,000.
