At 96635 miles my oil light was coming on when the car was not in motion. Nissan told me my car needs to have its timing chain replaced which btw supposed to last life of engine. I've read Nissan knew about defective parts and was not honorable in doing a recall. Whats the point of switching from timing belt to timing chain if I need to change it at the same approximate mileage. Its costing me $3000. 00 to get it fixed.
A car runner into our lane made made a sudden stop in front of me, to avoid hitting the car I turned to the right and hit a brick building. My air bag deploy on the driver side but not the passenger side. My wife was in the passenger side and she suffered a concussion she had her seatbelt on. Her face was badly bruised and is still receiving care.
Timing belt tensioner guides worn out - must be replaced. Cost of 1700. 00 dollars from Nissan. Perhaps Nissan can do it for free since this seems to be a common problem with many 2005 Pathfinder (4 liter engine).
I have had a constant problem with my 2005 Pathfinder. There is an annoying loud squealing noise coming from the engine compartment. I have taken it to the dealer twice. The first time it was diagnosed as a bad belt tensioner and was replaced at about 1500 miles. The second time was a bad belt at about 4500 miles. I just had my 30,000 mile service and the vehicle checked out fine now the noise is back louder then ever.
