I've ran out of gas twice my indicator the gas tank gauge does not show that the vehicle is empty it shows it's full and then I run out of gas on the side of the road almost get hit by cars trying to get to gas station to get more gas in the middle of traffic very dangerous have my daughter with me trying to push my vehicle out of the way so I don't get hit apparently it's a recall that says mine was done but it's not done because it's still having problems I am the third owner of mine so I think it was mislabeled as completed if that's the case then how do I know any of these recalls have been done properly.
Car shuts off in the middle of driving & also when simply parked. It starts jerking like it’s trying to catch up then it kills. It’s happened in front of traffic and busy roadways/intersections. It has happened more than once.
While driving car would act as if it were going to shut off. . We were never informed of recalls and we bought the car brand new we took it to a transmission specialist and was informed radiator was leaking on transmission and we would require up to $3,500 for repairs which included a used transmission.
The scanner is showing dtc p0463 fuel level sensor "a" circuit high. Why most car are eligible for a recall on this issue and mine has not? this problem is preventing the system from showing the actual fuel level and could cause an accident if the engine fails and stop. Please advise.
My husband has multiple sclerosis and ran out of gas on the highway due to a faulty reading on the gas gauge. He had to walk from the highway in record low cold to the gas station with his disability in the cold weather to get gas and back. The dealer states our truck is not included in the recall and believe this to be unfair. If this is a know recall it should be fix and should not matter if your vehicle was listed as the cars affected especially if it is a know issue. He could have died!.
Radiator coolant leaked into the transmission $4000 car 10 years old however I had high mileage due to many road trips.
Catalytic converters front and back have to be replaced.
The "service engine soon" light lit up when I was driving on a city street. There is a recall campaign bulletin under Nissan pc042 and NHTSA# 10v-075. The Nissan dealer will not cover the costs of parts and labor even after I showed them the documentation for the recall. I need to get reimbursed based on this recall campaign. The attached documentation specifically states that the fuel level sensor needs to be replaced.
I have had the coolant problem fixed. Then I have had to replace all the u-joints. I have had to buy new gas caps to get my check engine light to go off. Now there is a terrible leak and a noise that is so bad. I took it into a local shop and it is the timing chain. This car has been nothing but problems and now it is so bad that I can't sell it because no one wants it and I am now so upside down in my loan because the value is going down so much that I can't trade it in.
Service engine soon light came on with error code p0463. Found there is a recall for year 2006 and 2007 fuel level sensor. I have not run out of gas or had any issues except the service engine soon light is on will not pass inspection in our state with this warring light lit. Is my Pathfinder covered under the recall? vehicle is operational at this time.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the check engine light illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline). The dealer was able to confirm if the vehicle needed the repair. The failure mileage was 100,000.
I took my Pathfinder in to the local Nissan dealer for a check up--chugging at 35mph, check engine light sporadically goes on and off, gas gauge stopped functioning. Nissan ran the diagnostics and told me the check engine light is because I need to pay $500. 00 to replace the fuel sensor. I believe this is a part that was previously recalled. I don't know if Nissan considers the fix once and done but vehicles driven in salt and sand winter conditions will need extra attention. The transmission trouble is something Nissan knows about but refuses to recall. I was told I needed to replace the radiator and transmission--over $5000. 00. If Nissan knows about these problems, why must I, a now unhappy owner, pay for these repairs?.
Car shut down on dart train tracks, transmission failed to work, radiator had oil and leaked into transmission.
When gas gauge nears 1/4 full the needle either sticks or drops to empty. The gauge does not return to full for several trips or days. Nissan has had recalls for this but indicates my VIN # is not on their list. The problem I am having is exactly as it is described on the recall. I have compensated for this by keeping track of my mileage since I purchased the vehicle in 2014.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the service engine light illuminated. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was seen by the dealer and the diagnosis was code p0463. The contact was aware of NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the manufacturer was not aware of the NHTSA campaign number. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000. Mm.
Nissan Pathfinder just got to 100,000 miles when started experiencing transmission issues, turns out there was a factory warranty that I was never informed of that would have covered the radiator/transmission issue. However because I was not having an issue until the extended warranty ended Nissan is refusing to cover the cost of repairs despite knowing about this engineering fault. It is extremely frustrating that a large company such as Nissan is able to send a vehicle out into the public with known engineering flaws and put a mileage limit on repairing the issue. It is something that will inevitably fail but it is only a matter of time so it might have occurred withing the limit for some and outside the limit for others. It is my hope that you will expose this shady and unsafe practice that Nissan has going and help get people the repairs they deserve.
Corrosion in radiator parts allowed coolant to contaminate transmission fluid resulting in failure of transmission.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated the service engine light illuminated and the fuel level gauge displayed inaccurate fuel levels. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel level sending unit needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 33,000. Updated 03/21/lj updated 03/28/2014.
The radiator cracked and the transmission oil mixed with the cooling. This resulted in the damaging of the transmission and we had to replace the radiator.
The car stalled in oncoming traffic more than once. Nissan dealership says it needs a new transmission, radiator, catalytic converters, cam sensors and fuel system. It has been nothing but trouble since we purchased it and it dangerous to drive.
The vehicle had some shifting and hesitation issues while driving at highway speeds, especially upon accelerating after decelerating about 5 mph at highway speed. I brought it in to the dealer who said the radiator needed to be replaced due to cross contamination with the transmission. Upon the dealer replacing the radiator and flushing the cooling system/transmission, they called and said that the vehicle is now throwing off codes and that the transmission needed replacement. In researching the issue online, I noted there was an open ivestigation as well as and extended warranty offered by Nissan for this defect. The dealer failed to mention this, so I forwarded them the information and visited them to discuss the defect. The dealer stated that there was a lower cost valve body service they could attempt, but if that did not work, I would need the full replacement, so therefore they recommended the replacement. The valve body service was $1300 and a new transmission was $5300, so if the service did not work I would be looking at $6600 plus another $350 for the cooling system and transmission flush they had already performed. The vehicle has 109,000 miles on it, so it is outside of the extended warranty Nissan issued for this issue. I did try their customer care line to attempt to have them cover the repair since it is only 9000 miles outside the warranty, but they said there is nothing they can do. Based on the cost of the repair versus the value of the vehicle, it's hard to justify the expense and therefore I considered not repairing the transmission. However, the vehicle is used by my wife to drive our kids around, and I can't imagine the consequence of not repairing and then have a complete failure like some owners have experienced while driving. It's evident that this is a major quality and safety issue, and that Nissan should be responsible.
Transmission failed with no notice only 110000 miles upset and not safe! now I hve no car and Nissan wants to charge me 8,500 to fix seems so unjust I'm a widow with children and struggled to pay for my car and this shouldn't happen at just over 100 thousand miles!.
The automatic transmission stopped working. Car has to be driven in 3rd gear. Putting car in drive results in engine revving but not changing gears from 3rd to 4th gear. This will cost me close to $3000 to have the transmission rebuilt.
I was driving on the highway about 55 to 60 miles per hour and felt an intense vibration causing my car to start shaking as if I were on the rumble strips in the median. I drove the car to a mechanic and was told my radiator had leaked into my transmission destroying the torque converter. Nissan has refused to help me as well as I have been denied by an aftermarket warranty that Nissan persuaded me to purchase.
Under body vibration reported in January with less than 100k miles. Told it was due to the crack in my back bumper. Then 2 days ago, drove the car back to Nissan dealership at 112k miles where they told me my radiator cracked which lead to fluid going into the transmission - a widely known Nissan problem. Will have to replace transmission $5500 + radiator $700 because they are ruined. Fuel sensory gauge stuck also and will have to replace - also a widely known Nissan problem.
Service engine soon light came on while driving recently. I researched possibilities on cause and discovered via the internet this was typical of this make/model/year and that the fuel level sensor and sending unit had issues. Nissan info on recalls indicates that about 74,000 vehicles of this type/year had that problem and were being recalled. I took it to the gresham, or Nissan dealer on oct 17, 2012 and after a check up was advised mine wasn't part of the recall. That will be $451 to replace. I declined and appealed with Nissan - case #[xxx]. [xxx], at Nissan, 1800-647-7261 x [xxx] says Nissan can't help me. Oct 29, 2012 very convenient on their part and frustrating on my part! can you help? thank you. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the fuel level gauge would provide inaccurate readings and would often fluctuate between readings. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the fuel level sending unit would have to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Kmj.
Vehicle shakes and transmission slipped when driving. Dangerous in traffic. Took to amoco and told the transmission fluid is mixing with the radiator and both failed. Cost over $4,000 dollars to fix or it is utterly useless - just over 82k miles. Investigation shows dangerous trend for safety and complete product defect, with years of foreknowledge by Nissan. Driving is dangerous since the vehicle doesn't accelerate consistently and steering violently shakes.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated the service engine light illuminated, and the fuel system gauge displayed the incorrect fuel levels. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. A warranty letter was received from Nissan to repair the radiator crack assembly failure, but the vehicle did not qualify due to the mileage. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximately failure mileage was 85,000. The current mileage was 109,000.
Took our vehicle to be serviced in 2012 to find out our vehicle was affected by the intermix the radiator cracked and leaked into the transmission they gave us an estimated cost of over $10,000. 00 stated it was no good and to trade it in ASAP said we shouldnt drive it that it was dangerous so we parke dit. I was devistated we did everything in our power made reports called everyone possible nothing! tried to sue however I fell ill (cancer) and couldn't keep our hearing apt here in sacramento CA. Its still parked in our garage.
The fuel sensor went, the gas gauge dropped down to e and the gas warning light went on, which in turn set the check engine light on. When it first started it would work one day and then maybe not the next, as of October 2012, it does not work at all. I travel with 3 children, highway driving, daily. This is ridiculous and when I spoke to Nissan, it apparently has been recalled but for only certain VIN #'s, none of which is mine. This makes no sense. I cannot afford to fix it and knowing it is an obvious problem I have a hard time not making Nissan responsible for it. If it was a fluke and it was just my vehicle, then yes I should be responsible to pay for it or deal with it but not when its apparent there is an issue. I try to mathematically figure out my mileage but some times that doesn't always work out and I have run out of gas with my children in the vehicle. Please look into this, thank you.
When I took my car into pep boys for a service engine light and the gas level would not alway work correctly. They pulled up the recall and told me to take my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder VIN# [xxx] for repair. Nissan replaced the fuel sensor but said that only certain batches are included in the recall. This should be included in the recall and I am asking for it to be included in the recall and would like to get my $466. 08 refunded back to me. When I went onto the forum on the year and a lot more people have this same problem and are not getting it covered under the recall and I am requesting an investigation into this to expand the recall and reimburse my money to me for this. Fuel sending unit in the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder broke and Nissan will not cover the fix. Wife was stranded at the side of the road. The part should be recalled as there are confirmation from mechanics that these fail too early.
My distance till empty gas gauge just stopped working just as my car hit 36,100 miles. My warranty was for 36 months or 36,000 miles. Of course this happens that stuff tears up are the warranty is up. Two days are the gas gauge goes out the service engine light came on.
