Transmission failure due to coolant being leaked into transmission housing causing failure of transmisson and causing module to blow fuse to keep from harming engine. The engine died at signal light and had to be towed to mechanic. There I was told transmission and radiator had to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the transmission failed and the vehicle would not operate in reverse. There were no warning lights or sensors illuminated. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000.
My only one family vehicle suffered the now known 2008 Nissan Pathfinder radiator and transmission failure and breakdown due to coolant leak into the transmission. I've purchased this vehicle pre-owned from np Mazda in san antonio texas. They did not inform me of this known issue which involved several year models for the Pathfinder. I've spent a little over $5k of loaned money to have this resolve via independent transmission specialist as gunn Nissan presented me with a much higher price quote. I recently found out from a local Nissan service specialist that my vehicle currently have an extended warranty designed specifically for this and as a result of October 2012 class action lawsuit settled by court and Nissan corp. I am attempting to have Nissan help me with some of recently mentioned financial impact regarding their well known defect.
Cross contamination of the radiator fluid and transmission fluid due to faulty mfg(Nissan) design caused transmission to fail. $3000 out of pocket due to a mfg fault!.
Was told transmission failed due to faulty radiator.
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Nissan pathifinder. The contact stated that the transmission failed on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the anti-freeze and oil had leaked into the transmission causing it do fail. The contact spoke to the manufacturer about the repair, but was told this was an isolated incident and would not be covered. The contact did have the transmission replaced. The current mileage was 110000. Rl.
The radiator failed causing engine coolant to mix with the transmission fluid. This caused damage to all of the engine coolant parts and caused a complete transmission failure.
Radiator crack caused the coolent and transmission fluid to mix causing the transmission to fail.
Transmission failed causing a sudden deceleration and lack of a forward motion resulting in a near rear end collision with a tractor trailer. Only after the event did I learn of the issue with the transmissions in the Nissan models frontier, Pathfinder and xterra 2005-2010. I am 15k miles outside of the extended warranty but was not aware of any potential issue with safety. I never received notice or advice of such an event being possible. Had I known I would have taken proactive action. Nissan needs to extend this repair issue through a recall and repair the issue at their entire cost. This is a design flaw. The public safety is at stake!.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. The contacted experienced failures while he shifted gears the vehicle slowed down, and when he attempted to stop it the brakes did not respond immediately which caused him to increase the breaking distance. He thought it was drivers error, because the vehicle was new. He took the vehicle to the dealer who replaced the front shocks; the repair did not correct the failure. The manufacturer took report 6887492; however, the manufacturer advised that they could not assist with the transmission failure, because the routine maintenance wasn't done at the dealer. The failure mileage was 12,000 and the current mileage was 87,000.
