I purchased a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder SUV from dominguez pro advisory llc located at 19200 sw 106th avenue, miami, FL. 33157-bay- # 22-23 on [xxx] and the transmission is bad. I replace two parts one called motor mount and the other air intake. I called and spoke with the owner ceaser dominguez on January 24, 2026 at 3:03 pm and he stated that he could not do anything when this vehicle only has 12 days of purchase. I took the vehicle to a transmission place called american int transmission and spoke with carlos martinez and he ran the computer and the code that came up was p17f0 which is cvt judder (t/m inspection ) transmission problem information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
As I am accelerating once the car reaches 30-60 mph there is a very distant shuddering that occurs that cause the engine to lose some power and turns the check engine light on. This appears to be a common problem as I have found many complaints on forums describing very similar symptoms.
1. ) the engine makes extremely loud running noise after pressing gas pedal. It is available for inspection. 2. ) no noticeable safety of occupants was place at risk. We will say the deafening sound of the engine when accelerating is unsettling. 2a) the vehicle struggles to accelerate fast after pressing acceleration pedal. 2b. ) it’s not shifting automatically at all. 3. ) the problem have not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, only reported to dealer. 4. ) the vehicle or component havr not been inspected by police, manufacturer, insurance representatives or others. 5. ) there weren’t any warning ?? lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The sudden occurrence was observed three-days ago, when the loud engine sputtering noise began after running quietly earlier in the day. 5a) it simply sounded like the header pipe (s) to the engine became disconnected from the engine, or the equivalent of the header/engine exhaust pipe(s).
I bought my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 sv a couple months ago and it’s always had when starting where the rpms will constantly jump while driving, I took the car in to Nissan dealership in tridelphia wv multiple times, after buying to have recalls done that needed to be done and they said it was fine no previous codes or anything. Then driving home from work [xxx] the check engine light came on and codes were cvt judder, bank 1 low catalytic converter, driver tpms sensors bad. And then after couple days the check engine light went off. Car has a loud humming noise prior to light coming on and still. Rpms still jump but now the speedometer does it as well. This can’t be safe and there’s been multiple accidents/complaints about the cvt death judder in these suvs and for what we pay for them it should be fixed before someone dies. They need to be recalled ASAP!!! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My car is saying hybrid battery overheating theres a recall for it but not for my VIN and they won't fix it.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that soon after starting the vehicle, the engine started to overheat with the temperature gauge indicating that the engine was hot(h). The contact also stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated, and the vehicle started losing motive power. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the VIN related to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
Overheating, burning smell, shuddering, transmission failure. The safety concerns are that the vehicle will shut off/stall involuntarily the safety problem has been confirmed by a dealer. The vehicle hasn’t been inspected by the manufacture since 2017 by its previous owner. It was a pre-owned vehicle when I purchased it in 2023. I am not able to transport the vehicle to Nissan due to the cvt safety concern. 2/27/24 the check engine light came on the same day the issue was discovered. I drove it to o’reillys then towed it to my personal mechanic.
Transmission sputters, hesitates at acceleration & after stopping sputters to move. Then died in intersection turning left. Evening tow sat behind vehicle for safety. In 1 situation actually rolled back at slight incline rr tracks after took my foot off brake. Had to put into park, before I could move forward. Vehicle will cause accident after research, noted multiple complaints about the transmission, these vehicles should not be on the road, or resold until certified by Nissan. I am [xxx] [xxx] and can not possibly deal with this type of situation. 2 recalls can not locate a dealer who will correct 1. Jan 20,2021 manufacturer recall numberpc786 NHTSA recall number 21v-020 2. Hood latch assembly> 2nd latch notice from Nissan / NHTSA recall number 22v -420 hood may open without warning. The catalytic converter bank one has been replaced twice within a year on this vehicle and now for the year is out it needs to be replaced a third time. I do not know if there is a manufacturing issue with that but I don’t have another $3000 to replace this. The catalytic converter bank one only stays good for less than six months, but the warranty runs out after the three month period. I am not sure around the month, but I do believe it first started happening December of last year. I can get the paperwork from my mechanic.
My car (2014 Nissan Pathfinder hybrid) has been stuttering/juddering as it has been described by other users. Took to my local mechanic who found the software needed to be updated. He was nice enough to take to the local Nissan dealer (san leandro) phone (510) 347-3030 who did a software upgrade. Since then, the juddering/stuttering is a lot worse and doing things it has not done before. They are saying I need a new transmission which does not sit well with me because the car is worse off from the software upgrade that they performed. It was doing much better prior to that. Now I get a couple error messages one of which says the hybrid system is overheated - how could it be overheating soon after starting the car first thing in the morning when it has not been running all night. It never did this before. I also get an I-key system error which never popped up before either. In addition, the car has stopped in the middle of the road while street driving which can be a dangerous event! I have called Nissan consumer affairs and they were pretty useless. All they could do is place a dealership complaint. Please help.
Car shudders when accelerating. Have had 3 transmission since 2015 . First time, 2017 car died in a intersection out of town. Took to dealer, they replaced it. Second time, in 2018 car didn't start in driveway. Told it was the transmission. Transmission replaced again. For the last 3 months, car shudders when accelerating and while ascending a steep hill, the engine seemed to work very hard to keep the car running. Wasn't sure if car would make it to the top. Cars were behind me so it was unnerving. Was told today that we again, need a new transmission.
Cvt failed. Confirmed by certified Nissan dealer. No warnings at all. This is a known issue by Nissan that has affected millions of customers. Vehicle killed while driving in one of the largest cities in american with a special needs disabled child in the car.
Shuttering and jerking from the cvt transmission. Decreased power from the transmission. Has been reported and won in a class action lawsuit. The vehicle may completely stop in mid-motion and cause an accident. Was taken to a speciality transmission shop and confirmed what I am experiencing and was reported in a class action lawsuit.
Alternator failed, broken tensioner, catalytic converters bad, engine misfiring, brake failure. Discovered odometer disclosure is incorrect and VIN is wrong on the inspection certification. Odometers to the best of my knowledge only move forward, not backward unless they are tampered with or the information presented is fraudulent. I could have nearly been injured fatally, when the car stopped on three separate occasions and ultimately the brakes failed. I had the car less than 1 month in my possession and out of approximately 30 days, it did not run consecutively for 7 days. This information was turned into the virginia state police - office of inspections; however, they found no fault, but this is a clear misrepresentation of vehicle identification and mileage.
Car shakes and sputters at low speeds or when stopping. Took to dealership transmission failure.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder hybrid. The contact stated that while driving up a hill during icy road conditions at approximately 10 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. As a result, the vehicle slid backwards down the hill and crashed into a brick mailbox. The catalytic converter warning light was illuminated prior to the failure however the part was on back order. The front air bags failed to deploy and the unknown air bag that did deploy trapped her in the vehicle causing it to need to be cut in order to release the contact. The failure had occurred on several occasion. The contact did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it remained pending an investigation from Nissan. The contact received NHTSA campaign number: 21v774000 (engine and engine cooling, hybrid propulsion system) back in 2021 however parts had not been available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there was no remedy for the recall repair. The contact was concerned that it will take 3 months for Nissan to conclude their investigation with the vehicle failure and that in the meantime she was left with no transportation. The failure mileage was 130,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and pressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle would not properly accelerate, the check engine light would illuminate and the engine would vibrate causing the vehicle to become unstable when making turns. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the engine control valve but the failures continued to occur. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100. 000.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 21v774000 (engine and engine cooling, hybrid propulsion system) however, shortly after the repair, the vehicle would stall right after start-up. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving or while the vehicle was idle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they were not obligated to repair any additional damages during the recall repair. The contact was informed that the vehicle had no extended warranty service plan. The approximate failure mileage was 175,000.
In 2017 the engine light came on and I took my car to Nissan of mckinney, texas. They found the transmission was damaged and they claimed they replaced with another/new transmission. On November 18, 2021 the engine light came on again and I took the car to Nissan of mckinney. Michael d. Riffe at phone number 214 390 5370 or 469 877 0690 was my service agent. , after inspecting the car, he told me that the transmission is bad again and I need to pay approx. $5900 before tax and labor. I reminded him that they had just changed the transmission in 2017 so I didn't understand why the 2nd transmission went bad again, he refused to help repair/replace the transmission even though they claimed to have installed a new transmission in 2017. Michael told me since I had added miles on the car they can't replace the transmission and I will need to pay approx. $5900 before tax for it to be replaced. Nissan of mckinney is deceptive, I feel like I was robbed and Nissan of mckinney lied in 2017 when they claimed that they had replaced the transmission because a transmission does not just break and they never showed me proof that they had installed a new transmission. I am requesting for assist so Nissan of mckinney/Nissan can take full responsibility and repair/replace the transmission at no charge. Also, after a research I found similar suvs had transmission issues and there was a lawsuit filed in which Nissan accepted to settle, I was never made aware of this lawsuit and my vehicle is one of the affected vehicles in the lawsuit.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the rpm revved up to approximately 4,000-5,000 rpm. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
This vehicle stops running while driving causing life threatening situations, Nissan is fully aware of the cvt transmission issues and refuses to cover the repair of this cvt transmission, this unexpectable, they have known about this problem since 2013, continued to sale and manufacture the vehicle, this is a terrible business practice and should be stopped, these consumers buy these vehicles expecting to be able to keep their families safe. We keep up on all our vehicles maintenance and repairs. I am sure if the ceo or the head of the ntsb had family in a fatal accident related to Nissans refusal to recall this cvt transmission on all vehicles especially this year and make, then we would not have an issue getting help with this situation. Does someone have to die before a recall is forced? this issue started on 8/6/21 and has continued to stop running while we are driving it, we have parked this vehicle at the Nissan dealership to prevent a fatality, until this issue is resolved, we owe money on this vehicle and now Nissan is saying its over $10,000. 00 to repair! this is madness. Protecting the company instead of the consumer has got to stop!.
My vehicle has started to stall, jerk, jump while accelerating. I have called Nissan and got the run around. Non returned phone call.
I purchased my car 1 year ago. Since then my car has continued to stutter. Sometimes its a suttle stutter, most times its very noticeable and has continued to get worse in the short time I've had my car. I commute 1 hour to work and 1 hour home from work and am very concerned traveling on the highway at high speeds with this issue. I've asked a dealership in hutchinson, KS to help me with this issue as I am concerned the cvt valve in the transmission has not been fixed and they won't help me. They tell me that since their tech does not witness the stutter during their brief test drive there is nothing they can do to help. I've read several complaints on NHTSA. Gov from other customers as well and they are consistent with my concern.
We have a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and started having issues in June 2021. Our car stalled while driving home from work almost causing an accident. Had it towed to Nissan and they told us we needed to replace the transmission. It took them 2 months to fix our car. In the midst of fixing the transmission they said the supercharger pulley needed to be replaced. Okay! we finally get our car and a day later the check engine light is on again and now the horn wont stop blaring. We had to disconnect the battery. We took it back to Nissan and they said the battery was bad. They replaced it but it did not fix the issue. Nissan had to call the Nissan tech line for suggestions. So they said the DC/DC converter assy needed to be replaced and the hv harness was also failing to communicate. All this is connected to the transmission. With the new recall coming out all of this should be refunded. We need assistance. Any information or suggestions anyone has would be highly helpful.
The leak on inner transfer case can cause fire on middle of passenger and driver seat, alos odor may casue the drive unconfortable leak is very seriously from axle inner seal. Cvt transmission judder and shudder is very dangerous for all passenger on highway the speed wont go up and the car will shake like a boat I might kill all my family during a trip to PA with this cvt issue. Please please please ask Nissan to recall this issue to save 1000 lifes.
Issue with the cvt for Nissan Pathfinder. Have seen lot of complaints around the transmission for Pathfinders (2013 and 2014 models). Nissan doesn't accept the issue and is charging us pay 5000$ for repairs. Currently have mileage of 69500 and just passed the warrant (by 3 months). Nissan doesnt accept for any repairs. The vehicle while in motion stutters and stops in the middle of the road which is quite dangerous.
My engine is loosing power when driving. The car shudders(lose power) and then it has delayed engagement. Since the first time it happened it continue to happen intermittently.
While driving the car is having a hard time picking up speed and sometimes it the speed limit will go down by itself, without me having to break. I was in motion a city street going up a hill when this transpired. Then it jerks like it is trying to rush to catch up with the rest of the mileage. I have a transmission code that is present of 817f1-00. That I called the dealership about and their giving me the run around. They want to know where did I get it from?! its legit not to mention there's a part recall on it, they won't honor!.
2014 Pathfinder started emitting lots of white smoke from tailpipe almost out of nowhere. Took it to the dealer and they said that it needed a new engine. Asked for a better explanation, and they said that fluids are getting into the cylinders and that the only solution was a new engine. Very short, would not explain any further. The car is about 5 months out of warranty, but under the warranty mileage. They said I could take the issue up with Nissan directly and maybe they would help out. I kept up with my oil changes, kept fluids topped off. I'm completely besides myself with this problem. It has to be a manufacturing problem. Hoping to find that this is a recurring issue that Nissan is familiar with and deciding to own up to.
Vehicle shudders / shakes when driving 30-45 mph. Feels like not shifting properly.
I have had to replace my transmission 3 times.
Sometimes my Pathfinder does not accelerate when I step on the gas pedal. It typically happens when I am trying to drive after a stop sign or a red light, but sometimes it will even happen when I'm turning into oncoming traffic and trying to accelerate, but nothing happens. It's intermittent, so it does not happen every time.
Faulty rod bearing.
Truck shudders after being parked or stopped at a light on take off when trying to pick up speed. Also in the motion of driving on city and or highway.
