Engine, abs, collison, traction control malfunction lights came on. I took it to the dealership and it was determined that the right wheel sensor was reading at 407 mph. After replacing the sensor, the lights came on within minutes of me leaving the dealership. The vehicle is at the dealership currently. With the recent engine replacement and returning within five days for the second issue twice is a safety risk given that the vehicle can brake at any minute while driving which can cause catatrophic danger to me and/or others. The service techs are not sure what is going on with the vehicle. No other issues occured prior to the engine replacement (October 9, 2025 - November 3, 2025 at the dealership) and now the malfunction of the sensors (November 7 - current) twice within days. Dominos effect of safety issues and defects.

A malfunction warning light appeared on the dashboard, indicating the cruise control was no longer working and front crash indicator lights showed sensors were not working and/or turned off due to the malfunction. I believe my emergency breaking blindspot warning, adaptive cruise control are not working at this time. The malfunction light is inconsistent and may go off and on. Town center Nissan was able to duplicate the issue but had no fix available on 9/25/25. They agreed to communicate with the manufacturer and get back to me in a few days. They did not caution me regarding driving the vehicle and returned the keys after connecting to the Nissan diagnostic computer which pulled codes stating a front crash sensor malfunction. They stated their database included 5 other similar Nissan vehicles with similar issues.
On 03/25/2025, at 7:20 a. M. , my wife, on the way to drop off the kids at school, called me and said a light came on the dash and the car was stalled on the railroad track, and a train was coming. I could hear the train whistle blowing. The car would not move off the tracks and she didn't know what the light meant. She said she turned off the car and started it again and got it off the tracks before the train could hit her, but the car was still stuck in the road. I looked online and discovered it was the automatic emergency brake system warning. She was able to turn around and get back home safely with the kids. I can't describe how frightening that was and I can't describe my emotions toward the Nissan electrical engineers that would chance killing my family to install some useless unwanted technology!.
3-25-25 I got into my car at approximately 7:20 am with my children to take them to school and as soon as I drove out of my driveway I noticed a warning light flashing on my dashboard. I drove for maybe a mile before pulling over to turn my car off and back on to see if it would go away. I also called my husband to inform him and he looked it up to see what the light was. He said it was the automatic emergency braking (aeb) warning light. I turned the car back on and started to drive again but the warning light came back on, at this time I was crossing a railroad track, and my car stopped accelerating. The engine would rev up but not accelerate. I immediately looked down to see if I was in drive and it was. At that moment a train was approaching and the train whistle was blowing and so I quickly tried to put the car in park and turn it off and back on and at that time I was able to drive my car across the tracks out of harms way thankfully. It was terrifying knowing a train was that close and my kids and I were stuck in a brand new vehicle that would not drive across the tracks. I pulled over unable to get fully off the road and turned the car off and on again and was able to drive it back home without further incident but the aeb warning light remained on until I got home. This sensor is an absolute danger and could have gotten me or my children killed.
The car was involved in a collision into a jersey barrier on the left side of the vehicle at high speed that is 60 mph first the none of the airbags deployed and including the front airbags driver knee airbags or the curtain side airbags. Next, the driver‘s apple watch confirmed that we were in a collision and was able to call 911 where the safety features within the vehicle did not make any notification that we were in a collision, nor is it reflected within the Nissan app that there was a collision after the fact. Additional safety features for an accident are supposed to include four ways being automatically turned on in the car, unlocking the passengers had to engage the 4-way lights and the passenger side front had to unlock the car to be assisted by paramedics. Additionally, the back driver side tire is completely flat and reads as such within the app at 0 psi however, the front driver side passenger tire is ripped from its rim and still reading fully at 39 psi. Despite the car being unable to start, additionally, the app is showing that all systems are fine within the car. Finally, the brakes the driver stated their foot was all the way to the floor attempting to break and the passenger front side also heard a severe grinding noise. No warning, lights or lamps appeared during the accident. In addition no warning lights were visible within the app post accident. Finally, there was not an alert sent through the app. Insurance company has considered the car totaled. These have been unable to be reproduced. We have requested that our insurance save and document everything in our insurance, usaa has been unresponsive at this time. Our car has already been moved to copart philadelphia and is potentially pending auction. We have requested documentation multiple times.
On Sunday September 8 2024 at 3:01 pm while driving my car down the road my car suddenly started flashing the automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection system warning light. The warning started flashing then the engine shut down. The engine shut down for about five minutes then I was able to start it again. But my check engine light was on. My Nissan connect sent me a message via email that my "pathfinder's engine may have an emission control system malfunction. " I moved the car from the middle of the street to a parking lot and initially called for a tow truck. However, after sitting in the car for about 40 minutes waiting for a tow truck I started the vehicle again and it started and the check engine light was off. I subsequently took my vehicle to two Nissan dealerships and they could not find an issue or a resolution to the problem. Today, November 17 2023, at 4:23pm I was on my way home driving west and my car began to flash the same indications that I received during the initial incident. The common thread between both incidences was that I was driving west during dusk and the sun was shining brightly in my direction. I believe that the brightness of the sun is causing the aeb system to malfunction and can cause the vehicle to shut down while driving. This is definitely a hazard if driving.

My 2020 Nissan Pathfinder sl has once again developed problems with the emergency forward brake system. The abs aeb was replaced in January 2024 at southwest Nissan in weatherford TX . Today, [xxx] the aeb light came back on. This is also the second time I have had to replace the brake light located under the brake pedal. This is the second time I am reporting this problem to NHTSA. Research on several car repair sites shows this is a common problem with the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, but NHTSA has failed to issue a recall. The original cost for repair at the dealership was over $4000. Please review and confirm problems with this model and year. This is an ongoing safety issue. Southwest Nissan weatherford, TX was where my car was repaired in January 2024. They will be able to provide all documentation. The mechanic also stated in writing that this was a common occurrence with the Pathfinder. Thank you, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Last Nov. 10 after my oil change to Nissan van nuys dealership within less than a mile, I got terrible experience, the car was stop in the middle of the road and a red solid oil pressure light show up on dashboard and the gear shift from drive to neutral and get towed and bring back to dealer and after 4 days I pick up my car and now I can drive it again! but after couple of days and weeks? while I'm driving on freeway, check engine light, aeb light, and other orange light shows up on dashboard, I get scared again because it losses power and then I stop slowly on the curb and read the Nissan Pathfinder manual and turn off and turn on the engine? before I bring it again to the dealership I try to diagnose by myself using obdii fixd with and apple app to know what is the code and why there was check engine light and aeb light and, etc. ? it shows major driving impact -control module p061b-engine,torque management system p2637-engine, can't measure air flow p0101-engine? p0507-idle air control-engine, and many more?.
Collision avoidance system engaged without warning forcibly stopping vehicle in the middle of highway traffic with no obstructions in front of vehicle. Rear brake pads also wearing out at less than 30k miles. Pads went from 7mm to 2mm thickness between 5k mile oil change intervals. This lead to extreme rotor damage and replacement of rotors and pads.
The automatic collision breaking system light just came on. I turned it off and waited a while. I was fine for two days then came back on and stayed on. Took it to the dealer and they said I must have hit something because the sensors were not aligned. I explained I had hit nothing. There is no damage at all to the bumper. No accident reports no damage nothing but they insisted I “must have hit something. ” light when off again for about a day then came back on. Radio turns off and on randomly. Had an engine overheating after I turned the car on a 56 degree day.
Dear NHTSA, I would like to report a safety issue while driving this vehicle on interstate 35e north of downtown st paul, mn. While driving in traffic I went to move into a lane to the right allowing us to move in a less congested lane of traffic. During the move I pushed the pedal to full and the engine just shut off/cut out and stalled while in the middle of moving lanes in fast moving traffic. The vehicle jerked and slowed then the engine can back to life (fired back up) and my wife was screaming at this point that we were going to get us killed with traffic behind us moving at 60 plus mph. First my wife blamed me for this issue and I explained the vehicle just shut off under load and I was doing nothing wrong. This issue needs further attention or intervention from a higher authority than a dealer. Also, the emergency braking does not work on this vehicle going forward or backwards with all systems turned on. It has been at the deal for 7 days as of today sept 12, 2023. This event took place on Sunday September 03, between 3:30 pm according to our tracked google map trip. Sincerely yours, darron & gloria morris 22377 kirk CT n scandia, mn 55073 651-792-2000 763-355-4081.
This vehicle had a recall repair related to antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip system in March 2021. The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system warning light and the slip indicator light would come on intermittently. Ten minutes after that repair the lights came on again, and about two times in subsequent days, but not again. In the last weeks these lights have been coming on again, but more problems have been associated such as the start button will not work and these lights come on. Sometimes, when it will start, these lights come on but the car gearshift will not move out of the park position. Or, maybe if you use remote start when you get in and push the brake pedal and the start button the car shuts off. This leaves the vehicle immobile and can leave one stranded if in a remote area. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting does usually allow you to start it, but you cannot put the vehicle in park or you will not be able to get it out of park to drive it. Again, this is associated with the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system warning light and the slip indicator light coming on. And we have put new batteries in the key fobs, so that is not an issue.

The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop sign, she observed a beeping sound and the abs warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake switch, abs control module, and the aeb sensor needed to be replaced after two months. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,139.
While driving the vehicle automatically applied brakes even though there was nothing in front of me. There was a car in left lane but nothing in front. No crash this time but close to being rear ended. Also backing up I took my eyes off camera to look in mirror, there was a car behind me & bam we collided. Not warning beep, no applying brakes when it should have.
I was driving my vehicle and someone notice fluid leaking from the trans cooler area. After all the fluid leaked out without warning on the dash. The vehicle was not driveable and had to get it towed home. After further inspection I noticed one of the oil cooler lines ruptured and bust resulting in the cvt trans fluid leaking out. There was not warning and this could have been dangerous if driving and lost power. There was again not cvt warning light!. . Nissan has a faulty cvt cooling lines.

My abs system seems to trigger a warning when using the brakes and the car has a loss of power when accelerating this is especially dangerous on roads merging with traffic. I will restart the car the next day and the abs light turns off and works fine. This seems to happen intermittently and is a safety concern for my family in the car.
First incident is dangerous. I have already had 3 incidences with this one. It has to do with the 'automatic shut off system' when you come to a stop light/sign or other reason the car shuts down when you pause driving. Traffic was heavy and it was necessary to pull out quickly on all occasions. The vehicle has such a pause that when it did start to go I had to slam on my brakes to stop so I wouldn't get hit. Took me till the third time to correctly identify the problem. Even if I turn off the 'auto', it comes right back on when you turn the car off and back on. Second issue is just really irritating. I purchased the vehicle for the tow capabilities. When you are towing and put the vehicle in reverse, it goes nowhere until you go thru about a dozen screens to turn it off the abs system. And it comes right back on when you turn the car off. When I am in tow mode I should be able to go directly into reverse. Third issue is just irritation. When you put the vehicle in reverse, if there is something in the front of the car the warning comes on for the front of the vehicle. If I am in reverse, no warnings should be coming on for the front of the car.
Abs warning light, traction control warning light, and emergency break warning light intermittently keeps coming home.
Going down a busy road at 45 miles per hour my car stopped completely and started beeping and a warning light came up on the dashboard with a big exclamation point. There was nothing in front of my car no other cars and it completely stopped on its own. I took it to the dealership because I was scared to drive my car and they said the sensor was faulty they replaced it with the same sensor and said that Nissans development and research dept. Was shut down that they are the ones to figure the issue out but they replaced with same sensor and said it could happen again within 6 months to a year from the heat.
Most notably, when I'm using adaptive cruise control, my cruise control disengages and my car alerts me that the Feb [forward emergency braking] - aka - automatic emergency braking - is "unavailable" due to "front radar obstruction" this happens at very random times, at least every other day, during normal highway and city driving. It is always a clear day, never a drop of rain, not even running over a random bump in the road or a pothole. Then randomly, anywhere between what feels like 5 - 30 minutes after initial alert, the warning clears itself. I purchased the car used in July 2020 and this has been a constant annoyance ever since. I'm aware that other Nissan models around the same year (2017) have been having the same issues with the sensor.

Aeb (automatic emergency braking) light randomly comes which means aeb function has been turned off. This action disables intelligent cruise control which relies on aeb to automatically slow the car if it encounters a slower vehicle ahead. Only had the car a week or so, bought used with 40,000 miles on it from enterprise car rental. Reading the web indicates this could be an issue if you are driving with cruise control enabled and then cruise control is randomly turned off due to faulty (bosch?) radar sensor. Vehicles with aeb should have a means to turn aeb off without disabling features such as cruise control. Cruise control feature is pretty standard and has been around for years. Should not disable it simply due to new governmental safety requirements.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the vehicle abruptly stopped independently with the forward emergency brakes and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence however, the vehicle failed to start the next morning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to orr Nissan of wichita (10625 e. Kellogg dr, wichita, KS 67207) where the contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced however, while driving 40 mph, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the alternator was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
Airbag light had come on indicating an issue, but also light and controls on the steering wheel are failing. Vehicle has never been in an accident and there is no reason for this failure. Abs brakes activate randomly without warning preventing and causing the inability to stop. Abs can not be stopped unless I stop and turn off my vehicle and start again. Very dangerous. Cant stop when I need to. During city driving on a dry surface and approaching a stop light my brakes failed several times with the abs activating and making it impossible to stop. Random and without warning. Front differential cracked for no apparent reason and didn't provide any warnings, pinion seal leak appeared less than two years. In addition vehicle was in service for evap system 11 times in the first year without resolve. Gad consumptions was horrible and below any suggested mpg. Tire sensors have never worked and failed to alert low pressure in tires. Tire pressure has been unstable no mater what tires are installed or how many sensors are put on. Stability in steering is sloppy when going over any kind of bump in the road. Unstable when driving. Speed can cause problems when driving curves. Rollovers are definitely possible without much speed when on ramps and curves. Use extreme caution.
