The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the vehicle became resistant to acceleration attempts as she attempted to accelerate from a traffic stop. The contact noticed that the front driver's side tire had become deflated. The vehicle was later towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that the entire under-carriage an investigator would be sent to further access the failure because a component had fractured under the vehicle, causing the rim to become shredded and the brake lines to fail. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and an investigation was pending. The failure and current mileages were approximately 1,400.

Sever body frame corrosion causing the vehicle to be very unsafe to drive (examined by the local Nissan dealership) and surely will not pass the new york state safety inspection. Service recall on the "strut tower" corrosion last year but did not take care of the body frame corrosion due to the same corrosion factor that makes me very upset about Nissan. This might be a life death impact on the body frame corrosion where the vehicle might be break in 1/2 due to no body frame support at all. I m not sure why Nissan do not take any proper action like the way Toyota foreseen the impact on the life death incident due to body frame corrosion. According to many web discussion and forum resources, many Nissan Pathfinder owners are sharing the same corrosion issues complaints. I m writing to address and to kindly inform you to communicate this experience to the public and this might be in relationship to possible future life death incident if Nissan choose not to take care of this body frame corrosion in a serious matter. Thank you for your attention and time.

There was a recall on the driver side strut tower due to server rusting. The dealership repaired that area. I was hearing a noise from the front right passenger side and found out that the rust had damage to that strut tower. My abs and brake lights finally come on and I had s lost of brake fluid. The strut tower colapse severing the right front brake line. The dealer inspected it and said that they would not repair this. I,m not sure why the left front strut tower would be covered and the right front in not. I had leased this vehical and when the lease expired we purchased the car outright. We heard about the recall when I had one remaining payment on the car. Now with the car paid in full it is no longer safe to drive.

Brought my Pathfinder to star Nissan for the corrosion recall, I was told my car was too far gone to repair and they said that a rental car would be provided to me, "at no cost" while compensation for vehicle was being processed. I agreed to this, at the rental car location I was informed that Nissan will cover rental but not insurance, I have state required liability but not theft and collision as the car is a 1996 with 210000 miles on it and the premium out weight the value of the car. So I had to agree to the collision and fir, theft insurance of $9 a day. Now Nissan says they will not pay the $9 a day "supplemental" insurance. I claim this insurance is not ""supplement" but mandated as the rental was a new car and if stolen I, not Nissan would be held liable I would like, no demand payment for the insurance I have paid to cover, "there " not my rental. If I had rented this car my credit card would have covered all insurance but since, Nissan was the renter my credit card does not cover the theft and collision.

How can a major car company build a vehicle that has so many rust problems. My 1998 Pathfinder has so many rust problems. The company has had recall on the front strut housing, filler gas tube. Why can't the company stand up and take care of all the rust problems. Ever 1998 Pathfinder has rust issues fenders rear quarter panels . If you paid $1000,00 for factory running boards they all have rusted off. Why is it that the owners have to accept the problem with all these rust issues? this is my first and last Nissan I will ever own. Oh did I also tell you the transmission has been replaced, rear end makes noise, the distributor has been replaced filler tube, now the strut tower is rusting. Is this even a safe vehicle to operate on the road?.

I purchased a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder se in June, 2007 for $3000. In 2010 I had to have the starter replaced. This vehicle was loaded onto a trailer to have it towed to a friend of mine to have the new starter put on. When he brought the vehicle back to me, after the starter was put on, he had me look at the frame. It was so rusted out that I was afraid to drive it. But I had to, only vehicle to drive. You could put your fist through the rust. After going online and doing some research, I found that alot of 1995 Nissan Pathfinder owners have had the same problem. I contacted Nissan north America and was told there was nothing that they could do. No recalls have been done. I also contacted the indiana attorney generals office and got them involved. Still no solution since no recall has been done. Finally in June of 2011, I sold it to a junk yard for $250. Yes, I could have sold it to a private party, but did not want to be responsible if they drove it and the frame broke while driving. I would like to know if there can be an investigation in this. Toyota had the same problem and reimbursed those people at 150% of book value.

The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. The muffler and undercarriage of the vehicle is rusted from the front end to the rear. The dealer confirmed that there was no undercarriage coating. The failure is related to NHTSA campaign id number 07v435000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly:filler pipe and cap). The current and failure mileages were 25,000.
I went to have my oil change at the garage,I told the mechanic I could hear a hissing noise from under neat, like a noise from the muffler. When he checked he said the catalytic converter was split open,he told me to bring it to the dealer,it should be covered under the pollution control. When I got to the dealer he checked it out and told me ,it was called a tube or a pipe not a catalyitic converter not covered under warr. ,but Nissan sold a patch to repair this,at the time I had around 44,528 mi. On my Pathfinder just over the 36,000 mi warr. So I called Nissan to explain the problem and told them I was a loyal customer after bying 3 Pathfinder and my wife 2 maxima,I don't seem to have gotten anywhere but sorry. I was told that a regional rep. Was going to call, but we never connected. The service mgr. At Nissan told me they were aware of the problem, that I was not the first,I hope this will do some good maybe get my money back. Repair work done on 6/18/05. Thank you.
