Had to replace complete transmission. Lack of power and no reverse. Based on research a huge percentage of Nissan Quest, Nissan maxima and Nissan altima from 2005 have this issue, and no recalls was issued nor Nissan dealer accountable for problem. Problem happened on the freeway, had lack of power, move to the side of the road and stop, put car in park, tried reverse gear, and was not working, tried drive gear and it moves forward but with very little power. Took it to the mechanic and and after several inspection he told me I needed to change the transmission.

My a/c is running while itsince turned off I tried disconnecting the battery to reset it nothing works also when I drive the Quest at high speed and try to stop the front end of the car shakes while I'm slowing down.

This vehicle has several manufacturing faults that threaten the safety of my family. Since the vehicle left the consession, according to new, we have not been able to safely use this vehicle since its transmission, suspension and front. These components have a vibration and crunch that does not allow safe use. Since then it has taken imnumerable times to repair for the same faults and they still persist. The Nissan has already been documented this claim and have ignored the safety risks involved in driving a vehicle that can be blocked transmission in the middle of the highway exposing the safety of my family and other drivers.

While driving the transmission will slip, the rpms will rev when accelerating and the trans will jerk into gear when in lower gears, it is now having trouble accelerating all together.

They told me I have a electrical problem on my 2004 Nissan Quest but my heat turns on but my con pressure is not turning on . . Please help I am a single mom I cant afford a new car and I have 9 months months to finish paying off car.

Our ac quit working and we were informed that the ac lines had holes in them due to corrosion. This is absurd for a vehicle only three years old. Repair estimate is $1700 due to the fact that they have to drop the subframe in order to access the corroded lines. Clearly this is a vehicle defect and Nissan should take responsiblity for the substandard material used in these lines. We appear to be the second consumer reporting this issue on this site.

Bought the 2004 Nissan Quest in January 2015,from a dealership other than Nissan, told vehicle is unsafe to drive,this is from a Nissan dealer,as when I contacted Nissan I had to take to an authorized Nissan place to have it diagnosed and send them the info,Nissan place said the subframe is rusted badly,if I were to hit a pothole,it could break and be in serious accident! he also said he would park it,I've only had it since January of this year,another mechanic also said that it was like that when bought as that doesn't happen in less than a year,contacted Nissan USA and was told pretty much not their problem.

My family's 2004 Nissan Quest spontaneously stalled while being driven on a total of five occasions since purchasing the vehicle on July 9th, 2015. The first incident occurred on about July 13th, 2015 in a parking lot while moving at a low speed of not more than ten miles an hour but every stalling incident since then was while the vehicle was being driven on roads at various speeds over ten miles and hour and under fifty miles an hour. When the vehicle is being driven before stalling there are no significant indications before hand to indicate that there is anything wrong with the vehicle except that on the last few occasions we have noticed that a second or two before stalling the check engine and slip lights glow. After stalling the vehicle restarts either on a first attempt or a second attempt. The vehicle does not stall every time it is driven either. Although I do not have any mechanical expertise, some online research into this matter suggests that on 2004 models, and fixed in later models, there may be an issue with corrosion to the ecm due to the placement of the module in a location that is subject to water intrusion.

I was driving my van and I came to a stop on a hill and it wouldn't go, I had to push the pedal to the floor to go. And it won't go in reverse either. I had power problems years ago but turning my van off and back on 'fixed' the problem. Also the timing chain issue has been going on for years.

My 2006 Nissan Quest has bad jerking in the transmission when the gears change. It does this when it both gearing up and shifting down at any speed. The jerking is very bad when also coming from reverse to drive. This is a safety concern for me and my family because if it gives out on the expressway, it could cause an accident and that puts my family including my baby in danger. Also if I am stranded on the side of the road with my child in extreme heat or cold this also puts my child in danger. This transmission needs to be recalled seeing is how I am not the only one with the complaint.

I was driving car and slip,traction, and engine light came on and car stopped. The car started again, but was driving very slow and was struggling to move.

Over the last 6 months, the transmission in our 2004 Quest has slipped out of gear while driving down the road. This has caused a safety concern for my wife as traffic mounts around us.

Transmissions gear slips and jerks unexpectedly. You never know when it will jerk when accelerating. Will probably need to rebuild the whole transmission that will cost plenty. Also dangerous for my family to drive.

The whole underneath of my van is rusting out I went and had it checked and they said it is only a matter of time and the whole vehicle will just drop.

Had the vehicle since 2004 as the original owner. Vehicle has not been in an accident. Heard a loud clunk when driving after removing foot from brake and after going over bumps. Turned out the metal subframe of the vehicle has completely rusted out and separated from the frame of the vehicle. The steering crossarms and ball joint are loose because of this. It's a $4000 repair and car has only 120k miles. Had to get new car. Dealer said it's not safe to even drive and not worth fixing.

Electronic side doors do not adequately stop and retreat when a person is present in the opening. Doors continue to exert enough force to move a full grown man one to two steps sideways. Would likely cause significant injury to a young child.

While driving down the local road, a loud vibration from the right power sliding door can be heard. . Its very loud! it also made the gas pedal shake a little bit. . 2007 Nissan Quest s 86500 miles. . Drivers side window gets stuck while going up, also doors wont open all the time.

While driving home from work, my front passenger wheel snapped off of the control arm. Because I was doing 50 miles per hour it also riped the axel out of the engine. I have been told it was due to a weak weld. Is this a manufactures defect?.

Fuel guage goes to near empty and then starts to show more gas in tank then is really there. Driver runs risk of running out of gas based on faulty reading on fuel guage.

The 2005 Nissan Quest se has severe problems with motor mounts and their faulty design which resulted in a vehicle crash. My wife went to the dollar store,this being about two months after all the motor mounts were replaced, she got in and started to back out as she pressed the accelerator the engine revved up to 3000 rpm and then jammed the transmission into gear causing it to jerk the wheel violently and bark the tires the engine is so quiet you cannot hear if this is happening it propelled the vehicle right into another vehicle parked all the way in the parking spaces behind her costing us 2000 dollars to pay for vehicle damage there could had been pedestrians around which could have been hit and killed there is over 30000 complaints online of this same problem. I urge you to please make Nissan fix the defective motor mounts problems there is plenty of evidence on this our motor mounts now have to be replaced every 4 months because they keep going bad costing 1200 dollars each time they are a bad design and is urgent to be fixed because they help control transmission engagement thank you.

I went out to get in my van I tryed to start it up the car wouldnt turn over had to have it towed to mikes fairwood auto and he found out after looking at it the vehicle was out of gas even thoug the guage said there was gas in the vehicle he then looked the Nissan Quest up and found out they have had 37000 complaints and even deaths to the guage being wrong I was lucky enough that I wasnt driving the vehicle when it happened but I would like to file a grievance against Nissan before anybody else gets hurt or killed.

Hi we were on way from niagara to harrisburg in our Nissan Quest 2007. There was no maintainence issue in my vehicle. I had a fuel filled at corning and on the way towards harrisburg on us-15 near to lawerenceville, my vehicle was on 65mph and suddenly the engine stopped and I pulled over to the shoulder. Luckily it got completely pulled over to the shoulder. The mechanic near toiga told me that the timing chain has snapped and has caused the engine damage and it is a known problem with the Nissan vehicle. Need your help to register the complaint.

The main engine support frame member to which the bottom-forward motor mount is attached rusted completely free where it attaches at the area under the radiator. This caused the entire engine to drop. The vehicle is no longer driveable. Repair requires extensive structural work. There was no indication of a problem in advance of the incident. The vehicle had been service regularly. The compromised area was not previously visible as it is concealed by a splash guard. This is an extremely unsafe condition, especially when travelling at speed, due to potential for loss of control resulting from compromised steering, braking and other systems. Nissan has not issued any bulletins, recalls for inspection, or other communication regarding this issue. A brief internet search produces numerous complaints about the same problem. Many of the complaints state Nissan has been unresponsive to complaints.

Our tire went flat. We found out a "special" dealer had to repair/replace the tire & there was no spare due to us having "run-flat" (michelin pax) tires. We got a list of the only 3 dealers around our area that are certified for these tires but when we called them they tell us these tires have been discontinued. No big deal except we find out this ru-flat tire is the only tire that can fit on this rim!! & this rim is the only rim that can fit on this van!! what!!!!!!!!!!! so I have a flat tire & now my van is immobile & irreparable!.

Car has been bought in 2010, it had all the time suspension problems, now appeared a/c cooling system is not working. Does it have any warranty for it? vehicle has about 115,000 miles.

My wife notified me that while driving to work, our van a 2005 niissan Quest 3. 5 s, without warning completely shut off leaving her stranded in the middle of traffic. After a few minutes and several attempts she was able to restart the vehicle and return home. On another occasion while I was driving the vehicle around town I experienced a similar incident when again without warning the van shut completely off as I was approaching an intersection on a red light. After bringing the vehicle to a complete stop without braking assist or power steering it restarted after a few attempts. During both incidences the vehicle had a full tank of fuel and showed no indications of trouble.

Quest will jerk extremely hard after slowing down or letting of on the gas and then returning to normal speed.

Van makes a rattle when rpm's are lower than 3000. It's the timing chain as I was told by a mechanic.

The front tires wear quickly on the outside edges. Bought van new and within 5,000 miles the front tires were bald on outside edge of both tires. Alignment was checked and determined to be in spec. Rotated tires to back and now rotated tires exhibiting same wear pattern. Tires will not pass inspection due to wear on outside edge and loose traction in wet weather.

When driving the car engine sounded as if it was going to fall out of car found out the engine mounts were all broken and needed to be replaced. Replaced all the mounts and the car still jerks hard when driving and loses power sometimes and will rev very high when driving for no reason at all. Took car back to mechanic and was told had to replace transmission mounts after already replacing mounts for over 900 dollars.

While slowing down at the intersection to make a rigth turn, the vehicle lost power and would not drive more than 10 mph and finally coming to a complete stall after engine died. Restart the engine and drove normal. It has interminently continue to happen at random.

I was at my sister house had drove forward to back up, before I could put it in reverse the minivan just lunged forward into her deck. The deck was demolish. I turn the wheel to keep from going through her house. It was out of control I applied my brakes it did not stop I turned the wheel it was headed cross her yard toward ditch into some trees . I push the button to turn off it stopped. It tore up the front end driver side. The radiator was leaking. I contact Nissan they said would have to talk to my insurance company. I do not know results yet. I am scared to drive it even if it get fix. That was a scary moment . My daughter was with me. She was just look in a panic. I was saying I can not stop it.
