Takata recall. Worried that seat belts will explode when family is traveling in van. No way seat belts can tell us they will explode in 1 week or explode now! why can't you replace all of the seat belts before someone else is hurt or killed? I am thinking seriously about replacing soon if seat belts aren't replaced,.

8 Seat Belt problem of the 2008 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 04/20/2013

Airbag deployed while driving. No accident. No impact. The drivers side airbag deployed while driving in a travel lane, no other vehicles near by, no objects were hit. No indication of impact to the body of the vehicle. The seat belts also have locked up as though there was an accident. It appears to be a malfunction of the airbags. Our concern is primarily that if this is a potential defect in the system that it could be much more serious for someone driving on a busy street or freeway. The incident occurred at a low speed on a city street when no other vehicles were near. If the NHTSA wants to investigate we need to know soon. Otherwise we will arrange to have the srs replaced.

9 Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 04/01/2010

I have Nissan Quest 2004 Mini van. 2 weeks back one day my son 7 year old got trapped in the 3rd row seat on the passenger side. We couldn't take him out. If I try to loose the belt the it keep locking finally I had to cut the seat belt. Usually if the belt locksup then if you release the belt it usually frees up but it didn't do it . Luckily this happened when got to back to home and my kids were trying to come out of the van. I think this needs a little attention. I don't know if this is faulty seat belt or faulty mechanism. I strongly believe this mechanism was faulty and there is a possibility of kids getting trapped if they are not properly using seat belts. Mainly if the lock and release mechanism is not working properly.

12 Seat Belt problem of the 2001 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/15/2007

The driver side seat belt buckle would not come free. I had to jiggle out of the seat to exit the vehicle. When taken to the dealership they told me the part was going to cost me $39 to replace not including labor. I had to pay to fix since my wife could not drive the vehicle without the seatbelt working correctly. It started to lock up once in a while and you just had to be slow when unbuckling the seatbelt. Now it would not unlock at all. Vehicle has been good over the years with only one other issue the dealership corrected three time before being hassle free. No one could tell me why the buckle would not open just that I had to pay to replace.

13 Seat Belt problem of the 1997 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 03/14/2005

My son recently graduated to a booster seat. I purchased cosco traveler high back booster. My son fits all of the specifications for this booster seat. I installed it properly. My son was in the booster seat. As I was driving along the freeway my son dropped his book on the floor. He leaned forward to pick it up from the floor and the arm of the booster seat caused the seat belt button on the latch to depress, which thus unbuckled the seat belt and caused my son to fall out of his seat while reaching for his boot. The seat belt unbuckles every single time my son leans forward at all due to the "arm" of the booster seat. It is my opinion that in the event of an accident, the force of his body weight against the seat belt would cause the seat belt to unbuckle. Thus the restraint would not be restraining him.

16 Seat Belt problem of the 1996 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 02/15/2002

Weird electrical problems,I have taken to 2 different people, 1 of which specializes in transmissions, the problem is that when the vehicle is warmed up the transmission doesn't know what gear it is in, on initial investigation the problem appears to be the trottle position sensor but that was replaced and still no fix. They hooked up computers to the car while driving and say the computer doesn't read the tps being operative during driving but no problems can be found with the wiring and computer board. When the engine transmission starts to mess up the locks start to lock and unlock by themselves while driving, the check engine light is on and the overdrive light blinks off and on. At one time the air bag light come on for no reason it was checked and problem found. The sliding door latch broke within a couple of months of buying. The back windshield wiper motor would also come on by itself, we ended up taking the fuse out for that.
