The car suddenly lost power while driving on highway route 46 in little falls, NJ during rush hour traffic. Luckily the it happened while in the right lane so my wife was able to get off the road quickly but had no forward power. The car was towed to acme Nissan in south brunswick, NJ where it was diagnosed with a failed transfer case and transmission. My wife's commute is rather far at 80+ miles round trip a day but it is almost all on highways. For a car to have a complete failure of the transmission at speed on a crowded highway wat this age/mileage out of the blue is completely unsafe.
