2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2022

I was driving along at 50 mh and all the sudden drops down to 30 mp and even thought I push peddle to floor it won't go above 40 mh and starts trying to cut off this has happened a few times to me as well as my mom who drove my car. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed . .

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2020

My car is unable to accelerate after stopping. This is incredibly dangerous as I have had close calls for being in several accidents. I am scared to death to drive this vehicle anywhere but I have no choice as this is my only vehicle. I purchased the vehicle in January/February 2020 and have children that are in the car with me. I have never feared for our safety in any vehicle that I have owned previously. The rpm's also go high and switches gears only when I let off the gas. These are problems that have every time that I drive the vehicle. As a single mom I'm at my whitt's end and need this problem fixed for the safety of my family.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2019

Vehicle loses power to dash, steering and propulsion during operation on driving.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2019

Was on the highway again and the car once over 80 mph, stop accelerating in the middle of the highway in major traffic and decreased to 20 mph and starting shaking again and stopped. The car would not move and I was almost plowed by a semi. I called Nissan before because this same thing happened last July 2018, and there have been complaints by others. They advised I needed to take it to Nissan and they might assist with whatever could be wrong, but they made it seem as if it was nothing. Once again there was no power coming through the car, no sensor lights came on, the car smelled like it was going to catch fire and it would only excel and not move before it cut off. Luckily I was able to get it pushed over on the main highway.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2018

When accelerating into traffic, after a dead stop in an intersection waiting to turn, or when changing lanes the car would just stop accelerating. It would not move for several seconds. Three times traffic had to slow to wait for my car to move. Nissan dealer service said it was brake switch failure. When replaced the problem stopped.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/27/2018

Taking a short day trip, about a 2 and a half hour drive, my car stopped accelerating about an hour in. Gas pedal to the floor and nothing happened. On the way back home it was worse we had to stop almost every 10-20 miles to let the car rest. I just had this transmission replaced about a month ago. I would stop to maybe cool down the transmission for about 15-30 minutes, then it acts like nothing was wrong. It also has a whining noise like something is winding up.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2018

Transmission display symptoms of failure while going 65 miles an hour on a highway with my children and ultimately stalled out.

The manufacturer was contacted and informed that the failure recurred. The dealer information was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 128,324.

10 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2017

The first time this happened I was driving to lexington from charleston and about one hour and 1/2 the car wouldn't go any faster and then it started dropping speed pretty fast , it dropped all the way to 35 mph, I had my daughter in the car with me she was scared to death someone was going to hit us, I pulled onto the side of the highway and sat for about 10 minutes started it back up and kept my speed about 65mph, and it was okay. It just happened this weekend when I was driving from charleston to charlotte, about 45 minutes away the car wouldnt go any faster and it started dropping speed fast, had the petal to the floor and nothing. I was able to pull off to the side and let it sit for a few minutes popped the hood it was not running hot. I then pulled off again to try to get to a gas station and it started up and then about 2 minutes passed and it wouldnt go any faster, pulled off on the exit and barley made it to the gas station, this time I let it sit for a good 30 minutes or so. I then got back on the hwy but wouldn't go over 65mph and it was okay. This is known issue and it seems like Nissan is aware but they are doing nothing to fix it. . I am scared to drive this car because you have no warning no light comes on and you just start dropping speed fast, someone is going to get hurt or killed there needs to be a recall immediately!!!.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2017

This started happening right after the last recall Feb 2016. Was going at 65 mph little uphill (from 1200 feet to 2200 feet) then the speed started dropping from 65mph to less than 30mph on a busy California I-15 freeway. I had to pull the car from the far left lane (5 lanes each way) to the right shoulder where I stopped for about 35 minutes then started the car again. It happened at least 4 times since they messed up my car in the last recall. Other issue I experienced was when I stopped at a traffic light and tried to move, it barely moved then all of the sudden it jumped, it was very risky. I had to pull to a parking lot (this happened 3 times).

12 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2016

I bought a new 2010 Nissan Rogue sl awd in July 2010. At about 50-60k miles, the engine would cut off if I came to an abrupt stop after traveling about 60-65mph and then braking ¿ at a red light for instance. I have also had an issue with the car not accelerating on the highway when pressing on the gas. This happened few times and I took the car to the dealer¿s service department, who said they could not identify a problem after doing a test drive. I find hard to believe Nissan is not aware of this issue with these many complaints of same or very similar problems. Today, 9/27/16, my car engine cut off while entering the highway, I was super lucky my car was not hit by a truck, which could have ended with me being killed.

13 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2016

My 2010 Nissan rouge has 79,000 miles and was recently purchased less than 3 months ago. While driving on the highway my car suddenly would not accelerate past 55mph. I would push the pedal to the floor but it still would not accelerate. I then pulled over & lifted the hood but there was no obvious signs and the car was not overheated. I let the car rest and then got back on the highway buthe issue still continued. While researching online I realized that there are numerous 2010 Nissan rouge owners who have been having the same exact issue for years now. This is a safety hazard and should be reviewed for all 2010 Nissan rouges!.

14 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2016

After driving on the highway for about an hour, the car decelarates and I am unable to keep up with traffic. This will continue until I am going about 55 mph. Once I get off the highway and stop, the car will not go again until after a few minutes. This can be very dangers when trying to get into traffic after traveling onthe highway. This has happened 4 times now. This needs to be recalled by Nissan ASAP.

15 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2016

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph with the accelerator pedal being depressed, the vehicle failed to increase in speed. The vehicle was restarted and it resumed to normal. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred a second time when driving at approximately 70 mph. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,653.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2016

My 2010 Rogue loses power when accelerating up a hill. I have to pull off the road and let the engine cool down for 30 minutes then the car runs ok for about 30 minutes then it loses power again. This has been happening for 2 years. I don't drive in hills often so it has happened about 6 times.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2016

The car loses acceleration after driving for more than an hour on the highway. It is a risk going up the mountains of west virginia. Tractor trailers get right on our bumper when the car drops below 50 miles per hour thinking we are slow drivers. Nissan customer service worked with the local dealer but did not come up with a solution/repair so we have to pick up the car and continue to be at risk. Many people are complaining about the same issue. . Read more...

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2016

I have Nissan rouge 2010. I bought it brand new. Everything was ok until last 7, 8 months when start with problems. Every time when I drive car more than 45 + miles on highway my speed and power goes rapidly down from 70 mph to 40mph and below with noise from engine. If you try to accelerate does not work. You press pedal to the floor nothing is happening. The worst part is all this come without any warnings. I did some online research and I was shocked that a lot of people have same problem. Most likely is transmission. Yesterday me, my wife and five years old daughter were driving from houston, TX to san antonio TX which is 180 miles, I was driving 70-75 mph on I-10 when same thing happened again I lost my speed to under 40 mph and 18 wheeler behind us almost hit us. We were very lucky that day. I think problems with those small suvs somebody needs to take seriously and those vehicles should be recall before tragedies starts. 06/26/2016.

19 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2016

We have a 2010 Nissan rouge that will be driving fine then all of a sudden it starts decelerating to less than 70 mph on a busy interstate. Even trying to push the gas pedal all the way down does not do anything. We purchased this Nissan for our child to drive to college because we thought it would be safe. We have major concerns about this happening every time it is driven on the interstate. Does not have this problem when driven just locally. It only has 65k miles on it. Thought Nissan's were supposed to last forever and be safe. Don't feel safe sending my child to college in it anymore because this is happening so frequently.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2016

While going down the highway at 75 mph all of a sudden it starts to decrease speed. This has happen a couple of times. I would like to know what Nissan is going to do about this since there are several people that has had this very same complaint. Something needs to be done about it. There needs to be a recall on this since there are so many people complaining about this. Why doesn't Nissan want to stand behind their product. I love my Rogue. I would like this problem dealt worth in a timely manner please. I imagine everyone would.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2015

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan rouge. While driving approximately 75 mph, the vehicle speed suddenly decreased to 55 mph. At 55 mph. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2015

The car developed a problem where the transmission was slipping and I noticed fluid leaking. Took to dealer, and I had additional coverage for repairs and break down. They told me the enclosed transmission developed a leak due to corrosion. That corrosion damage is not covered, and it cost $400. 00 to remove the part rather than replace it. The car has a grinding vibrating sound when driving. The cvt is known to have this issue, and the transmission is sealed so you can't check your fluid level and it is required to only use Nissan manufactured transmission fluid. The cvt is tied into a fail safe mode that can be activated by high temperature in the engine. A cooling kit has been recommended but I have read mixed posts as to the dealerships charging to put it into the car. The car has been known to totally lose power while driving if it goes into this fail safe mode or when the cvt just fails completely. Warranty was extended to 10yrs/120000 miles for cvt.

23 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2015

The vehicle repeatedly lost speed, decelerating when going uphill. It went from 70mph to less than 20mph. Pressing the gas pedal all the way down provided no response from the vehicle. Nissan is refusing to acknowledge that there is a problem with this car model. . Read more...

24 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2015

This has happened numerous times. While driving on the highway, car will lose power. We press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and car decelerates; there is absolutely no power. The last incident occurred August 8. We were driving at about 80mph; we started up a hill and the car completely lost power; speed went down to about 40 mph. Finally regained speed on flat stretch of road but every time we hit a slight incline we would lose power. Part of the time we were on a two lane hi-way and cars were backing up behind us. Then, after going along with no problems for a period of time we pulled of at an exit. After stopping at a stop sign when we tried to move gas pedal went to the ground and car did not move-then it lurched suddenly and accelerated. Later in the drive-on a flat ground going 80 mph car lurched and decelerated --as I said, this has happened before; this last incident was most frustrating as we were on a long road trip and feeling very unsafe.

25 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2015

Straight out the lot 13 miles on it when I purchased it. About 6 months after I purchased my 2010 rouge, it started to make noises when I would go over a dip or a small bump on the road (30,000 miles or so). The noise sounds like something is loose. I took it in 2-3 times to Nissan they said they couldn't replicate the problem. It also started making a vibrating noise when I would be idling at a stop sign or traffic light. The vibrating sound I was told was due to the throttle being dirty. I had that cleaned and a few months later it stated doing again. My rouge now has over 100,000 miles on it and it it started loosing power and it is not accelerating on the highway. I was on my way to dallas and my rouge wouldn't speed up, I was driving like 78 mph and then decelerates to 55 mph, this is very dangerous. This is the third time that it has happened, pretty scary stuff. I had to pull over on the next exit and check out my car. Once I tried to get on the road again my car refused to move it was acting like it was going to turn off, sort off like when you make an abrupt stop and it jerks. It took of very slowly and then after a few minutes it was back to normal.

26 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2015

I was driving 80 mph with traffic on a heavily congested hwy - I-4 when the transmission stopped working. There had been a high pitched whine during the last hour of travel and the car just started decelerating. Air temperature outside was approx. 80 degrees. There was a smell possibly of leaking fluid. Took to dealer and there is a known transmission problem on Nissan vehicles with the cvt transmission causing them to overheat, etc. This should be a recall, not an extended warranty issue. This vehicle is 4 years old and should not have transmission failures. I was stuck on a highway in the middle of nowhere and it took 2 hours to get to a dealer which was one and a half hours away from home.

27 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2014

Loss of power going up hills.

28 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2014

The vehicle hesitates while in reverse and also in drive when accelerating causing a delay within the traffic intersections and while driving on hills. Dealer was unable to find codes and unable to duplicate the problem. The problem is intermittent. It happens when engine is warm goes away after cooling down.

29 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2014

I was at the speed of 65 mph and when climbing hill the speed drops down to 40 mph.

30 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

Driving at highway speed, the vehicle would refuse to accelerate to pass a vehicle. Happened multiple times on a 1 hour road trip, causing near fatality as car would not accelerate up a hill and when in the course of passing a disabledvehicle, the car would not speed up enough to keep up with traffic speed in adjacent lane, causing driver behind vehicle to slam on brakes to avoid collision. The vehicle refused to accelerate the remainder of the trip (1 hour more) and engine light illuminated.

31 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2014

Is Nissan the next Toyota?? we were pulling out of a shopping center and the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. The gas pedal was pushed to the floor, acceleration was at minimum and the rpms revved up extremely high. Thank goodness no one hit us. Finally, the gear caught and all was well. It seemed like the transmission may have slipped. Then we got to my parents' home and parked. Then we went to move out of park and the gears wouldn't change (automatic cvt transmission). We had the vehicle towed to the nearest certified Nissan repair facility. . Read more...

32 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2014

My daughter and I were returning home driving on interstate hwy when car suddenly and unexpectedly loss acceleration in heavy traffic on interstate, going from 75-80 mph to 50-60 mph within a minute causing braking and swerving of cars behind us because we were in left lane and could not get over. Seemed to occur on upward incline of road. Took car to Nissan dealership because warranty is still in effect, and was told that their diagnoses showed no problem with the transmission. Service manager told me he knew of some problems with transmissions, but could not make repairs unless corporate Nissan reimbursed them. I was basically told to drive the car until it "broke' and then they could fix it. I am afraid to drive car on interstate now- fear deadly crash.

33 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2014

Going at freeway speed. . . Could not accelerate, neither to pass nor to recover from having to slow down for traffic. When pressing down the gas pedal, nothing happened: no acceleration and no increase in rpm. First time it happened, I was going up a hill. Now it happens any time I have been driving for 30 minutes or more, flat road or incline. The car does fine initially and during normal stop and go city driving for short durations. Thought perhaps it was a clogging in fuel injectors, so cleaned them out to no avail. Dealer says they "can find nothing wrong. " this is a dangerous flaw that needs to be corrected by Nissan!!!!.

34 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2013

After driving vehicle for about an hour, car would not accelerate. Gas pedal would be pushed all the way to the floor and rpm's would not exceed 3000rpm. When foot was taken off of the accelerator and pushed back to floor board, rpm's would increase to 3000 and then decrease back down to 2500 rpm. Vehicle would start to decrease in speed even though gas pedal was pressed all the way down.

35 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2013

My 2010 Nissan Rogue stopped accelerating properly on a highway. I could not properly merge into traffic. Very scary!!! I made it home and thought it was a fluke. It then began stalling periodically, and the acceleration issue continued. We needed a new transmission at 78k! flags forward 46k more miles on replaced transmission,. . . The problem reappeared and was worse! Nissan won't replace this one and was very rude, unprofessional and won't semi the problem and serious safety issue. This was my third Nissan, but my other two were muranos and never had an issue. My experience here was so scary and so disappointing with Nissans dismissal of this serious issue that we will never buy another and will tell all our friends and family too. You should not buy from Nissan as they do not stand behind their products!.
