1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2023

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75mph, the contact stated they began to smell an abnormal odor promptly following the vehicle check engine light illuminated. The contact was able to veer the vehicle to the shoulder before getting the vehicle to restart. The contact took the vehicle to their mechanic and was diagnosed as transmission failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to reach out to the NHTSA hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2014

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan rouge. The contact stated that after engaging the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to move. There were no warning lights that illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was merged to the side of the road, where the contact attempted to engage the accelerator pedal again and the vehicle resumed to its normal operations. The failure occurred on seven different times. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 80,300 and the current mileage was 80,400.
