36 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2022

My tranmission is not liable. My vehicle jerks, steering wheel vibrates when I hold it at a speed like 45. I have written you before. Nothing will be done. I waiting for it to just die and not move. I know a lot of Nissan roque have transmission problems and there is a recall out there. But since mine doesn't show any codes nothing will be done. I don't understand why wait before it does leave me stranded. Or maybe I have a lemon of a vehicle.

37 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2022

The car jerks a lot. Even if my foot is on the brake it keeps forward can easily hit a car in front of me. Took it to dealership paid almost $3000 and they told me they did the work yet the next day after picking the car up engine light was on again and the jerking while driving just got worse a lot of other Nissan rouge has complain about these same situation.

Failure Date: 09/20/2022

The contact owned a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 5 mph, the vehicle had shut off independently. Which caused the contact to get rear ended. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle shutting off caused the crash. The air bags did deploy. The contact was not sure how fast the other vehicle was going at the time of the crash. A police report was filled. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to reach out to NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 101,500.

39 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2022

My vehicle has stalled twice now while I am driving. The dash lights all turn off and the car just stops going. Once it stops, I can’t start the car unless I physically remove the key, put it in park and start the car again.

40 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2022

Issue started with crank no start, internal lights flashing, then power steering and check engine light came on. After a few more tries starting vehicle, driver side window stops functioning, all internal lights are flashing when any button is pressed, and key fob stops connecting to the vehicle.

41 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2022

When driving the vehicle on the highway, it suddenly felt like it is decelerating (slowing down ready to stall or completely stop). This all happened suddenly. It continued to move forward, but there was a large "malfunction" sign that showed up in the middle of the dash screen. It was extremely dangerous, as I was driving my 1. 5 year old grandchild home from daycare. After having the vehicle connected to a auto diagnostic machine, the codes that came up were part of a known Nissan issue (service bulletin: ntb18-077, applied transmission: cvt (re0f10d)).

42 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2022

My car overheated. When I took it to my mechanic, he let me know my cooling fan assembly needs to be replaced, there is not a single cooling fan assembly for a 2017 Nissan Rogue sport sl available in the continental us. Nissan has no idea when they will have the part available again, and neither do any of the aftermarket vendors such as autozone. This leads me to think that every single Rogue in the country has had a problem with the cooling fan. I understand supply chain issues, but this is ridiculous.

43 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2022

On multiple occasions this vehicle has lost power whilst driving on public roads including but not limited to interstate roadways. The vehicle will be operating normally at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour (depending on the posted speed limit) and will suddenly lose power and speed to such a degree that it is unsafe and the speed cannot be regained. Vehicle has been inspected and "fixed" on multiple occasions, in multiple states including but not limited to missouri and south carolina where the incidents have occurred, however the issue has continued to occur. The locations the vehicle has been inspected and "fixed" include both dealerships and independently owned garage repair shops. The Nissan dealership has advised this issue is not under warrantee and is not part of a recall. They have advised there is a recall of the engine of the 2017 Nissan Rogue electric vehicle only for the same issue.

44 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2022

When I am at a complete stop and I press on the accelerator, the car will lurch forward very slowly. This has happened many times while driving in heavy traffic and it is very unsafe.

45 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2022

As we are on our way driving to work, there was weird sounds coming out of the engine, we had no check engine lights turn on an advance to give us a warning. After those weird noises , we pressed on the gas the car would not move, that’s when the engine light came on and the car turned off, there was smoke coming out of the front it smelt like something was burning, we moved out of the car fast. We tried turning the car back on but it would not turn on.

46 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2022

To whom it may concern, my 2017 Nissan Rogue's cvt transmission went out. I was driving home on March 11, 2022 and I turned right safely into an intersection when the oncoming traffic had a green light and my vehicle stopped accelerating. We could have been hit by incoming traffic because of this. It was not until this happened that I found out that there was a class action lawsuit against Nissan due to this cvt problem. My vehicle was not displaying any warning signs, it just stopped accelerating. Nissan failed to notify their consumers about the ongoing issue with the cvt transmission on their vehicles to have the vehicle inspected prior to warranty being expired. I am a single mother, full time employee, and full time student. I purchased this vehicle in hopes of it being reliable. Instead, this malfunction, I was almost hit by incoming traffic because of the lack of communication with their consumers. Letting consumers know this late is ridiculous, considering most of the affected models are close to the end of their 5-year warranty period. I demand an answer from Nissan, I will not accept that they are not doing anything to help me cover the costs which have been estimated to be closer to $10,000 by a Nissan certified service department. Nissan failed to communicate this problem, my daughter and I's safety was compromised when driving this vehicle, what if this would have occurred while we were driving on the highway. I could have been hurt and so would my daughter. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs and they declined any sort of help.

47 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2022

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to a local mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the check warning light was illuminated. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

48 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2022

When I accelerated after being at a complete stop, my vehicle would not move at first. The rpms shot up, but no movement. I was at a busy intersection and the situation was bothersome but there was no accident. I very slowly pressed the gas pedal again and the vehicle went forward. This is not the first time this has happened. Current mileage is 89,600. This type of problem began around 75,000 miles but has not been a weekly occurrence. This has not been confirmed by a dealer nor inspected. No warning lights came on. There has been hesitation in acceleration for about 2 months but I thought it was possibly bad fuel. There are times the rpms will greatly increase without speed increasing.

49 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2022

Letter in the mail citing class action lawsuit vs Nissan regarding transmission issues - having same issues, car unable to start, causes battery to die.

50 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2021

I drive a 2017 Nissan Rogue that has just under 65k miles on it as of today. Without a prior indication of a problem from the car's warning system, I suddenly began losing transmission power and experiencing significant engine hesitation while driving yesterday, August 23, 2021. Specifically, the car would hesitate at least 3 seconds and sometimes as long as 8 seconds before engaging, thus putting me in great danger in traffic and on public roads. Additionally, the engine would begin revving up from 1 to 4+ rpms while simply trying to maintain a speed of 40 mph. This caused me to constantly have to remove my foot entirely from the accelerator, further putting me in harm's way while in traffic on both residential and highway roads. I lost control of my vehicle. I immediately proceeded home as carefully as I could manage, stored the vehicle overnight in the garage, and took it to the dealership first thing in the morning. To my great surprise and disappointment, the Nissan adviser informed me that the diagnostic codes received were p0776 and p1715, both of which were addressed in previous Nissan service bulletins in both 2018 and 2021. Furthermore, these codes indicate specific issues with the cvt - something that has plagued Nissan for years and continues to be the center of many lawsuits and causes for extended warranty programs. In fact, I experienced cvt transmission failure in a 2015 Nissan Rogue that I owned previous to this one. My sister also experienced the same safety hazard in her Nissan Rogue. This is an ongoing and hugely unsafe problem. Currently, my vehicle is at the dealership, awaiting response from Nissan corporation as to whether they will replace/fix at no cost, considering the blatant cvt issues and the fact that my powertrain warranty expired less than 5k miles ago and that several other models with the exact same issue have been granted extended warranties, etc. This should be at no expense to me. I had my car inspected last month by Nissan!.

51 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2021

The cooling fan supposedly has failed. The car is certified preowned, but of course this component is not covered. The car has been towed to middletown Nissan in NY. We have been told the fan is on back order and they have had the car for three weeks now. My issue is they tell me there is three other vehicles ahead of ours also waiting on a fan. When I inquired with another Nissan dealer(thruway Nissan) about the price of the fan ($420)I was told that it would be on back order and there was 3 other cars ahead of mine waiting on these fans. This car has 35,000 miles on it. It seems awefully suspicious that 7 cars only 4 years old had these fans fail within a 40 mile radius. Should'nt someone question if this should be investigated for a recall?this was quoted as an $880 job.

52 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2021

On June 30, 2021 my Nissan Rogue was operating normally. My husband and I stopped at a store and I ran in while he stayed in the car. After about 10 minutes or so my husband came into the store to tell me my vehicle had started smoking, so he shut it off. It did not want to start again. After waiting 30 minutes the vehicle started and there were no problems, but I wanted to drive the car to my dealership just to check. While at the dealership, the vehicle began smoking out of the engine again, and now liquid was dripping onto the floor. It is my understanding that it got so hot in the engine that my washer fluid reservoir melted and that was the liquid dripping onto the ground. After having the vehicle towed to another repair shop, they advised me that I need a replacement cooling fan, but that part is not available in the united states at the moment. It has now been over a month and there is no update on when the part might be available, and neither my dealership nor repair shop nor Nissan will provide me with a working vehicle while mine is out. The engine could have caught on fire, endangering my husband and I and anyone driving near us. We were told Nissan is aware of this issue and isn't doing anything about it. There were no warning lamps prior to this happening. Several months prior the vehicle was in the repair shop for the a/c not working properly, a sound coming from my a/c blower, and the bluetooth not working properly.

53 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2021

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle loss motive power without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and diagnosed as an engine control module failure. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the failure, but the manufacturer wanted the dealer to perform a diagnostic test before approving the replacement of engine control module. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.

54 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2021

The check engine light came on out of nowhere. Took it to the auto zone and Nissan dealership. States the engine is over heating and needs a cooling compartment. However the cooling compartment is on national back order.

55 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2021

My car had less the 30,000 mi on it. It 28,700mi at the time of incident. I bought it brand new in 2018. So this year my warranty expired in April 2021. In June my cooling fan went out and I had no a/c plus the car was not drivable due to it overheating. I’m in idaho we were have 100-110 degree days here. I had no car for a month and a half because I was told that they don’t make the cooling fans anymore and the dealership couldn’t get ahold of one for that period of time. Meanwhile I lost my job we don’t have busses and I couldn’t get rides or afford ubers/ taxis everyday several times a day. It was awful. I know this issue has to be known to Nissan. Shouldn’t there have been a safety recall by now?!? also at the exact same time as the cooling fan went out the fuel pump went out too! now mind you this car was brand new is three years old with less then 30,000mi on it. So the warranty had expired three months prior they can’t get the part to replace it for 1 1/2months so I have no car during that time loose my job and have to foot the bill for replacing both the cooling fan and the fuel pump. Okay I believe this make, model, and year needs to have a mandatory safety recall ASAP. For goodness sake look at how many people have had to replace their cooling fans on their car! that’s not okay. I demand that something be done to fix this before someone’s car catches fire and someone ends up dying!.

56 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/17/2021

My 2017 Nissan Rogue has been jerking, lurching, and there are times when the accelerator is depressed but the car does not accelerate at all it is extremely dangerous. Nissan has confirmed that the cvt has failed. This seems to be an ongoing issue with many of their vehicles and it doesn’t not feel like adequate action is being taken to remedy this.

Car was hit.

58 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

59 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2020

We were driving smoothly on a 5n freeway and the car suddenly jolted and stopped at exactly 48k miles, no sensors were lighting up. I have to hazard light in the middle of the freeway turn off the engine and turn it on, same jolting movement but luckily I was able to steer it safe at roadside and ask for towing.

60 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2020

My vehicle started having issues with the transmission around 90,000 miles. While driving on the highway the acceleration started having problems. I took into a Nissan and they tested the vehicle and let me know the transmission failed. The model is a Nissan Rogue and is a 2017 model. . .

61 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2020

Car stops accelerating when the engine get hot. It happens all the time. I was not made aware of any issues with the car when I purchase it . This apparently is a known issue and a teenager drives the car. Mechanic states the whole transmission needs to be replaced.

62 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2020

The transmission is faulty and when driving in the freeway or even the streets I would notice that the car starts to jerk back and forth. Secondly I believe it unsafe whenever turning at high speeds the car feels as if it can tip over. Within my first month of purchasing the car there was tons of engine problems.

63 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2019

The Nissan has a severe vibration coming throughout the cabin at stoplights on city streets. The steering wheel vibrates, the passenger violently vibrates when no one is sitting in the seat, the hood shakes. This all happens while at idle, as the vehicle gets warmer the issues becomes worse, for example: the vibration is less noticeable the first 10 minutes the vehicle is on and operating, as the engine warms the issue gets worse. I have had the car inspected by both Nissan and a 3-rd party, with both saying the issue is visible, but there is no fix for this. This vibration is a safety hazard, it is shaking components of my vehicle that may become loose over time and not hold up if I were in an accident (I. E. The vibration on the passanger seat could cause bolts to become loose without me knowing, then when I step on the break the seat could come loose and cause injury. Also the hood latch can become loose and fly open while driving. ) besides the safety issues this is adding excessive ware and tear on ,y vehicle and I don't feel safe.

64 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/04/2019

Engine keeps on turn off with out notice.

65 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2019

A few times on a cool start in the morning it doesn't fully turn over. I wait a few seconds and turn key again then it turns over. A few time while backing up out of my work spot, the car jumps like it is going to kill. As soon as I hit brake it revs back up and then I can go. Today I left work, then at a stop sign my car killed. I really didn't think much, until it killed. I will be calling service department tomorrow.

66 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/03/2018

I was purchased a nissa vehicle from weston Nissan at Dec 2018, after few months Nissan corporate called me that they need to take back to switch to another one, ends up I found out the car is not original from japan it was defective one with aftermarket air bag, and all wires from air bag has been cutting before the sold to me, the car still seating my garage with no driving, I would like to know if I can get my money back since this is not the originals as what they said, I m worried to drive so I decided not to drive it, thanks again.

67 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2018

As I was parking my car accelerated without warning. I had to step on the brakes rapidly to prevent hitting another car. This is the second time this happened. The first time I was driving on the highway, it happened so fast, I thought the gas pedal stuck. Now I realize that was not the case, it was an unintended acceleration as well. I took it to the dealer the first time and they found nothing wrong. Nothing was done. I will take it in tomorrow. This is very dangerous and scary. I am afraid to drive my car now.

68 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2018

While on city streets, trying to come to a stop I applied the breaks and nothing happened, I then had to let off the pedal and reapply pressure to bring the car to a stop. I took the car into a Nissan dealership and they refused to look at the car because I have had it in to have the breaks, engine hesitation, extended engine crank, and an a/c problem fixed 6 times in 5 months. Nissan has a TSB out for an electrical problem that has them reset the computer but it does not fix any issues. Nissan told me to get the problems to stop I need to cycle the key. When I asked what that meant they said to stop the car, put it in park, turn the car off, and turn it back on. I said even if it happens when I am driving at 70 mph on the highway? they said yes.

69 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2018

2017-Nissan Rogue sport; driving on hwy 41, the Rogue loses power/power failure and almost comes to a complete stop. The Rogue then comes back up and continues up hwy 41. The rear stop lights did not come on when the power went down. I was on a 5 lane hwy and could have been hit from behind. Also, would not have been able to get out of the car since I was in the middle lane. In speaking with the dealerships, this appears to be a known issue. I took it to autonation Nissan they kept it for two days. When I picked the Rogue up from their call, it did not and has not driven the same; I explained this to the tech. When he test drove it with us, he gunned it going up a hill, the engine just raced, the car did nothing. He immediately turned to a downhill rd and took the car back tot the dealership. This is a major safety issue which I've been through this before with Nissan. Everyone at the dealerships wants to say and talk about electrical issues, first thing the check. I spoke with a person at the dealership that advised they do what Nissan tells them to do. So it appears the safety issue continues, Nissan has the reset the computer to new settings and the problems and safety issue in our opinion is never addressed. I now have a 2017 Rogue sport with safety issues and sounds like an old car on its last leg after the dealership is done with it. Its time Nissan steps up to the plate and fixes the problem.
