The vehicle stalls when attempting to accelerate after a complete stop at a stop sign and traffic light. This issue has been going on and off from the year 2020 until now, March 22nd, 2021. The acceleration stalls have almost caused about three accidents so far in busy intersections in north jersey. I have brought the SUV into Nissan service center three different times and their response was, scanned vehicle, no dtc codes found at this time npf no problem found at this time. I have multiple video documentation showing a high rpm of 3-4 while vehicle's mph is barely passing 20mph, resulting to the engine check light appearing and the malfunction error message illuminating on the dashboard.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was unaware if there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact parked on the side of the roadway, restarted the vehicle and drove to her destination. On the first visit the contact was informed that the aeb sensor needed to be reset however, the contact was unsure if the mechanic had reset the sensor. The contact stated in addition that the clips holding the panels of the vehicle, were detaching. The vehicle was taken to autonation Nissan las vegas (5800 w sahara Ave, las vegas, nv 89146;(702) 570-1013) and was informed that bodywork was needed to repair the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,729.
When driving in snowy conditions, the air intake filter clogs with snow resulting in an immobilizing loss of engine power. When driving from colorado springs CO to lawrence KS in March 2019 while it was snowing, we lost power and had to stop three times to clear the snow from the air intake filter because the engine lost power and could not ascend the rather gentle hills in kansas on interstate I-70. This causes a very dangerous situation for two reasons. First, the very slow moving or stalled vehicle causes a hazard for the other traffic is travelling at normal highway speeds. Secondly, stopping along the highway during snowy conditions to clear the air filter puts the operator of the stalled car in danger as well. I have driven many other different vehicles in snowy conditions and have never had this problem. I believe the 2018 Nissan Rogue sport has a design flaw that allows the air intake filter to easily become clogged with snow. The Rogue sport funnels the intake air directly from the grill, while other vehicles seem to have placed the air intake in a more protected location in the engine compartment.
