Power Train problem #2

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle started lurching forward and hesitating as if the vehicle would shut off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to exceed 60 mph. The vehicle was pulled off the highway, and the gear shifter was shifted to reverse(r), but the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.

Power Train problem #3

My car has about 61,000 miles and gas been properly maintained with routine oil changes and such. At around 60,000 miles the car started jerking up on the freeway when I was driving at 20mph due to traffic. The accelerator would also jump up from 1 to 2 quickly. The issue became worse and now there's problems with the car driving forward when I turn it on and select d. I press the gas and it takes a few seconds for it to start driving. No issues with reverse. A diagnostic found that the cars transmission overheats quickly.

Power Train problem #4

Unknown but it seems like the car is skipping gears, will be running fine then slows to a crawl and if I press on the accelerator harder the car will go wide open and has almost wrecked me across the road in a ditch! it don’t run well the rpm’s jump up and down when I am driving it! I have seen multiple complaints in this same issue! there are accidents reported about this issue why hasn’t it been recalled!.

Power Train problem #5

The cvt transmission in my 2019 Nissan Rogue failed unexpectedly at approximately 45,000 miles, just one year after the factory warranty expired. I first noticed issues on July 4, 2025, when the vehicle began hesitating and jerking in idle and occasionally during acceleration. On Monday, July 7, I drove it to a certified Nissan dealership for inspection, and during that drive, the check engine light came on. The dealership confirmed complete transmission failure. There were no warning lights or messages prior to July 7. The failure made the vehicle unsafe to drive, especially when merging onto highways or crossing intersections. The quoted repair cost was $6,500, which was unaffordable, forcing me to purchase a new Nissan vehicle instead. Nissan declined to offer any goodwill assistance despite the low mileage and known history of cvt issues in similar models.

Power Train problem #6

Vehicle was issuing a judder feeling, and it had lack of power to the gas pedal at times. The check engine light ended up coming on for p0101 (mass air flow sensor). Dealer replaced the mass air flow sensor and cleared the code. Said they test drove it without any issues. After picking up the vehicle, it was within 10 min, the judder was being felt. Then taking the exit and slowing, I felt the lack of power to the gas pedal. Dealership was called instantly and did a further inspection. Advised that the code p17f2 was coming up and I needed a new transmission.

Power Train problem #7

There are times that I would be at a light and go to put my foot on the gas and the rpms would go up but no speed then all of a sudden it goes. I’ve taken to the dealership numerous times and they say they can’t get it to repeat it. I told them to let the car run and it happens. Sometimes it happens even if I drive to NJ. I’ll get off the freeway and get to a light it does the same thing. When I took to another dealership they said nothing is wrong. No codes pop up. But I have used a mechanics code reader and it shows a bunch of codes for the transmission. And I’m not sure if the warranty is still there from where I bought the car from. It hesitates before moving than takes off. Sometimes the engine would rev and not shift or even increase any speed.

Power Train problem #8

On the fourth transmission with a carvana car. It’s dangerous to drive. I can’t go more than 65 and I drive 200 miles a week. It just had its left front axel done and now today it is the right front axel. Carvana offered me a 500 credit.

Power Train problem #9

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while attempting to make a turn, the transmission inadvertently downshifted and the accelerator pedal was inadvertently depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure recurred, and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The dealer recommended to the manufacturer that the gear shift lever be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer approved the recommendation by the dealer and the contact was informed that the shift gear lever would be replaced. The contact also was informed by the dealer that parts for the gear shift leaver were not available and were on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 46,200.

Power Train problem #10

I was driving my daughter to school and started hearing a crunching noise, mostly when I turned or stopped. It also sounded like rattling. Once I got to my daughters school the noise became extremely loud and there was a loud bang and smoke coming from behind my car. It smelled burnt. A piece of my car had broken from underneath. After my husband looked at the car he found it to be the rear differential that exploded from under my car. I had the vehicle towed to my house because its not safe to drive. What I am most am concerned about is there was no warning or light that came on to indicate I had a issue with my car that required servicing.

Power Train problem #11

When driving taking off from a stand still. My Rogue is giving me hesitation. And try’s to stall when accelerating then it starts to jerk real hard and dies sometimes it doesn’t take off from the light. Also the car starts breaking out of nowhere causing to a sudden stop. I’ve had this car less than 2years now I do not feel safe driving it at all.

Power Train problem #12

The transmission or something connected/apart of the transmission. When driving the rmp will accelerate or drop acceleration with cruise control on or with foot on gas pedal. It is currently at the dealership being looked at. The check engine light came on when the vehicle accelerated to 4 rmp's. Last year the vehicle would not accelerate over 35 mph the dealership fixed the issue but never really stated what the issue was or why it happened.

Power Train problem #13

The rear differential (carrier assembly) basically exploded through the housing. This happened at a very low speed but not sure what would have happened if it were at highway speeds.

The check engine warning light was also illuminated. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle jerked and hesitated. The failure had become more constant while accelerating. The contact stated that the vehicle was revving however, the accelerator pedal was not depressed. The vehicle failed to accelerate above 15 mph on two occasions. The vehicle was taken to auto zone to be diagnosed. The mechanic retrieved an unknown sensor failure code. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was provided with a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 47,358.

Power Train problem #17

2019 car has less 88,000 was taking in as engine light on. Car had difficulty climbing any elevate, would lose power, had to place in neutral, then back into drive to get it to work. Taken to dealer and was told multiple failures of the transmisson and needs to be replaced. We brought the vehicle with 37,000, so we are 2nd owner and we did change the oil every 3000 to 5000 miles (usually at 3000) driven by a 64 year old gentleman, so was not misused. I transmission should not go out at 88,000 miles. I believe it is a cvt. It is now going to cost $6000 to fix which boils down to an additional 250. 00 per month for driving this car for 2 years. We also had to replace the battery in the last 6 weeks.

Power Train problem #18

My vechicles experiences rapid onset shaking, vibration and jerking at low levels of acceleration classified as “juddering and shuddering” in Nissan service bulletins. The cvt transmission system has been the subject of numerous vehicle and safety issue complaints and transmission defect class action lawsuits in Nissan model year vehicles dating as far back as 2012. I just want my Rogue replaced or repaired but it seems that a repair will not make this issie go away. Despite settling multiple class action lawsuits, Nissan still equips these vehicles with cvt transmissions.

Power Train problem #19

While I was on the freeway the 2019 Nissan Rogue began to stall and the vehicle lost speed I try to get off the freeway almost crashed into on going freeway traffic and it stopped moving I put the car in park and I could not move the gears it was like they were stuck. No warning lights came on. I got the vehicle towed home, then Monday morning I got it towed to the dealer the service rep told me it wouldnt move or anything it needed to see a transmission specialist, I brought this car certified used, worst car ever.

Power Train problem #20

I took the vehicle to midas because the smell of eggs was coming from the vehicle, it would jerk upon acceleration, and the oil was empty a week after getting an oil change. Upon researching the vehicle midas said the vehicle was unsafe to drive and I had to call a dealer because the power train on the car was going. I had the vehicle towed to a Nissan dealer who had my car from Monday to Thursday and claimed they could not find a issue with the car. I was told by Nissan to pick up the vehicle and try to drive it. If anything came up to come back. After being told it was unsafe to drive I called Nissan corporate to escalate and voice my concerns. They suggested sending the car to another Nissan dealer. So again we had it towed. Today this current Nissan dealer is also suggesting maybe the previous shop cleared the computer in the car and to come pick up the car as well and drive it. With no regards to safety or standing by their warranty.

The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 43,088.

Power Train problem #22

I have experienced sudden acceleration, and sudden stalling on the highway, cobb pkwy, and at a zaxby's restaurant when I was driving my car on four or more occasions. I almost hit a car last week when my car suddenly accelerated. I steered my car to the right next to a curb to avoid a collision. I almost got hit by a car on cobb pkwy. When my car suddenly stopped on me while I was driving. I had my two autistic daughters in the car each time these events occurred. We were very scared each time this happened. This has happened to many other people who own Nissan Rogues and pathfinders. I think a recall should be issued on these cars before someone dies. Prayerfully, no one has died from these issues.

Power Train problem #23

Car left running (not turned off) with transmission set to park began rolling until hitting a bush. I see that there was a similar problem with 2015 models.

Power Train problem #24

When driving the vehicle lacks speed, jerks and doesn't have good pick up. You can be in motion and it jerks, the transmission may be bad.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and recommended that the vehicle be taken to another dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 22,640.

Power Train problem #26

Proceeding from traffic light, merging left with traffic, while accelerating car/SUV had a complete power failure, shook violently, all lights on dashboard went on. I had no power and/or control of vehicle. It was dangerous, scary and I shook like vehicle did. Luckily, I was on a slight incline, so I coasted to the side of the road. I turned vehicle off/on and it did not reoccur. Took into dealer, they did nothing and even misrepresented how many miles they allegedly drove to try and replicate.

Power Train problem #27

The auto break system crash sensor light comes on for no reason, the brakes come on by themselves with no cars around. The transmission also feels like it's slipping with high rpms from a dead stop.

Power Train problem #28

Vehicle hesitates or jerks during low speed.

Power Train problem #29

I left my car running with the transmission in park. I went into my house for a few minutes. When I left my house I saw that my car was rolling down the driveway. The car hit a tree and came to a stop. When I got to the car it was still running and in reverse gear. No one was in the car at the time. I am positive that when I left the car it was in park.

Tl- the contact owns 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while at a complete stop at a gas pump, the contact's mother's foot was on the brake pedal and the vehicle's engine revved independently. As the engine revved, the vehicle accelerated forward independently and crashed into a parked vehicle and then into a building. Power Train problem #31

My car's transmission on my 2019 Nissan Rogue sv awd has been slipping from the moment I received it in late may, 2019. On 6/19/2019, I brought my car to the dealership to report the problem. Since then I've brought in my car for repairs on 10/15/19, 10/18/19, 1/30/20, 2/15/20, 2/20/20, and 3/7/20. To no avail because I've been repeatedly told that the "codes" are normal. On 1/30/20, the transmission control box was replaced but my car continues to have trouble accelerating, specifically it revs high, but does not respond/accelerate as expected. This situation continues to endanger me and others on the road. To date, my car only has 8k miles.
