Cvt transmission is failing. Vehicle is shuddering and lurched during acceleration. First incident occurring on uphill climb on interstate. Immediately had to exit interstate as the vehicles speed dropped dramatically in traffic with other vehicles present. Car manual explains that the vehicle does not need to be towed to dealership in this condition.
The vehicle is not shifting correctly on highway or city, the rpms fluctuate when hitting the gas and and speed does not match the rpms. Which getting to 60mph the car starts to shake and will down shift and which makes the vehicle harder to accelerate and in some cases wont accelerate at all even with the rpms continuing to raise. I have gotten it looked at by certified mechanics and the said they cannot tell the issue especially with no warning lights and no faulty codes. When sitting at a stand still the rpms continue to raise over 2000 even with the vehicle in park.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered and hesitate while accelerating with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer a second time with the same result. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while merging onto traffic on a highway suddenly the rpm's reeved up but the vehicle grinded almost to a halt. The vehicle was almost rear ended by oncoming rush hour traffic. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The engine stayed running but everytime the gas pedel was pressed the rpms would again reeve up but the vehicle would slowly move along. The dealer gave an estimate for the repairs of $3,400 and said the issue sounded like the cvt transmission. They will diagnose the vehicle today and call the contact back. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 91,000. Tf.
The vehicle idles and vibrates constantly when the gas pedal is used. My wheel may not vibrate 10 minutes out of a half hour drive. It either barely will take off from start or it completely floors it and excels. Feels like a diesel rugged vehicle and not a smooth normal ride like any car or SUV should ride. I complained the day it was purchased and have hated it ever since.
Brought our vehicle to the dealer 6/21/16 to be serviced for failure to accelerate after coming to a stop at intersections. At first we were told it was the cvt and we'd need a new transmission. Then they replaced a valve and said it was fine. Two days later the car jerks and shudders while driving below 45 mph and violently shudders and shakes while stationary; feels like something is pushing it. Malfunction indicator light went on after this. Brought it back to the dealer and was told there is a "misfire" and that it's completely separate from the previous problem. Waiting to hear the diagnosis. Seeing many similar complaints online with most relating to the cvt. It's very scary to be in the car with my kids when it was jerking and shuddering.
