The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle loss motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed to the floorboard however, the vehicle failed to exceed 3,000 rpm. The vehicle was restarted however, the failure recurred after approximately 30 minutes of driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the torque converter clutch needed to be replaced. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 89,000.
