Side/rear Glass problems of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

I parked my car this morning at work and all was normal. I left in my car at lunch time and noted that the rear glass was shattered. No signs of impact to the rear glass, just shattered in to a million pieces. I have vent visors on my car and always leave the side windows cracked to allow air flow and aid in the car's internal temperature during the day. The temperature for today, as noted on the car's temperature gauge, was 78 degrees outside. As the day went on, after the glass shattered, pieces began falling out (as it had to be driven home) and left a hole in the rear of the vehicle. I did report the incident to security at wytheville community college but did not report it to local law enforcement as there was no indication that anything had made impact with the rear glass. I do have video of the rear glass after it was first noticed but I am unable to upload it.

While I was driving the right passenger back window exploded which is made out of soda lime glass. During the incident, I almost lost control of the vehicle and glass got all over me and my husband. We were driving on the highway at a 70mph speed. The explosion caused me to become stunned while driving and I almost recked and caused harm to others due to the window exploding.

My driver's-side backseat window exploded and shattered into pieces while I was driving. Nothing hit the window, and I was only going 40 mph. It put me and others at risk by exploding while I was operating the vehicle, which could have caused a wreck. The explosion sounded like a gunshot going off in my car, and glass shattered into my back seat and onto me (in the driver's seat). There is a lawsuit out right now about the 2021- 2025 Nissan Rogue rear windshield randomly exploding. No other warning labels appeared before the incident. My car was parked in the shade under a tree all day, so it was not due to a change in temperature. I had been driving the car for around 30 minutes consecutively when the window shattered.

On September 6, 2026, the rear liftgate window of my 2023 Nissan Rogue sv awd was discovered completely shattered while the vehicle was parked. The vehicle had been parked since approximately 7:00 a. M. And was not being driven when the glass failure occurred. There had been no known collision or prior damage to the rear glass. When the vehicle was discovered, the rear window was shattered throughout. We did not identify an obvious impact point or object that would explain the breakage. The rear wiper remained attached and there was no other apparent damage to the liftgate. Because the glass failure occurred while the vehicle was stationary and without a known impact, I am reporting this as a potential safety defect involving the rear liftgate glass. Had this occurred while the vehicle was being driven, shattered glass could have entered the passenger or cargo area and created a safety hazard. I have photographs documenting the condition of the vehicle and broken glass.

Trunk window randomly blew out it sounded like somebody shot a gun at the car it was that loud. Did not hit a bump or anything it just randomly happened while driving early in the morning. Glass shattered everywhere.

Back window on liftgate spontaneously shattered while the car was being driven. There was no rock, road debris or previous cracks in the window.

The rear windshield exploded out of nowhere while the car was parked in a parking lot.

While parked my back windshield shattered.

While driving on a parkway, the back rear window just suddenly exploded. I had a minor child sitting in the back seat and wife in the front passenger seat. When the sound of the explosion happen we thought we got hit with a rock or someone shot at the vehicle. I had to take the next exit to get off the road since it is raining and it was too dangerous to pull over on the side. I called to make a police report was told no report can be made. No warnings or signs just a sudden explosion.

I was standing in my driveway and my back windshield exploded shattering into 1 million pieces. It also broke my windshield wiper. I spent $500 out-of-pocket to get a new window.
