Sun/moon Roof Assembly problems of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue, the sunroof glass suddenly shattered/exploded while the vehicle was in motion. I was driving at a low speed and did not see or hear any object impact the glass before it shattered. There was no known collision or incident immediately before the glass broke. The sunroof glass shattered and fell into the vehicle. I am reporting this because I am concerned that the sunroof glass may have failed unexpectedly while the vehicle was being driven. The vehicle has approximately 22,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, there was a loud banging sound coming from the top of the vehicle. The contact pulled over into a parking lot and inspected the vehicle but found no failure. The contact arrived to the destination and parked the vehicle and became aware that there was an unknown material coming from the top of the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to the residence, and the contact became aware that the sunroof had exploded. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,000.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the sunroof exploded without impact. There was an abnormal popping sound detected before the failure. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was determined that the sunroof needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 8,001.
