Tire pressure gauge has been serviced numerous times since purchase. Nissan can't seem to fix it. Nissan worked on warning light serviced June 20, 2012, June 28, 2012, June 30, 2012, and light came on again evening of June 30, 2012, the same day it was worked on. Once a week I take my 90-year-old neighbor out. June 28, 2012, we were out and it was 100 degrees outside and due to the safety light I had to get to somewhere to service the tire pressure. She had to go with me to attend to the tire pressure problem (concern for heat stroke in 100 degree plus temperature). Recent problem history: warning light on and addressed in may by costco (who kindly assisted me and filled tires with nitrogen and told me if it happened again to go to Nissan), one week later took to Nissan, again in may to back to Nissan. Again Nissan June 20, 20012; wal-mart June 28, 2012; Nissan, June 29, 2012, Nissan June 30, 2012, (4 times in June), and the light is still periodically coming on. This issue needs to be addressed for my safety, for my neighbor's safety (having to get somewhere to get the warning light off, and since I bought the car in 2008 this has been an ongoing issue. I am requesting assistance from your office on this matter. I need to discuss this problem with someone from your office.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Sentra. When the contact started the ignition, the tire pressure monitoring system illuminated a low pressure reading on the instrument panel. The front driver's side tire was properly inflated and the warning indicator no longer illuminated. On a separate occasion the identical failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the tire pressure monitoring system sensor was replaced. The failure recurred two additional times and each time the tire pressure monitoring system sensor was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the repeated failures. I took my 2007 Nissan Sentra to the costco on 7 January 2010 in order to have 4 new tires put on the car. I was advised that tire pressure sensor packs for each tire be replaced at the same time the tires were being replaced and that the cost would $2. 00 per tire. When the tire technicians attempted to replace the first service pack they found that the sensor nut on the rear left tire had seized up. They then found that the sensor nut on the front left tire had also seized up and the tire sensor cracked. For this reason it had to be replaced with a rubber stem. It was reported to me that this was common with Nissans because they are put on too tightly by the factory when the Nissans are manufactured. After having problems with the tire sensors on the left side of the car, the costco technicians didn't feel comfortable trying to replace the ones on the right side of the car. I was advised to take the car to the dealer. I took the car to my Nissan dealer and was told that the tire sensors are not covered under the warranty and that it would be $650 to replace all four tire pressure sensors. I refused to pay for them to be replaced after being told that this is a specific problem that Nissans are having. So now the tire pressure warning light stays on all of the time due to one of the tire sensors being replaced by a rubber stem. So if there is a problem with any of the four tires I will not be able to tell it via the tire pressure warning light since it stays lit all of the time. I asked at costco if they have problems with any other makes of cars when it comes to the tire pressure sensors and I was told that it is only with Nissans. So obviously I am not the only person who has experienced this problem and it might warrant an investigation and possible recall - out of consideration of the cost ($650 to replace 4 tires pressure sensors) as well as the safety concern. The tire pressure warning light came on three times in a three week period. I added air the first two times and the light went off. I did not add air, but went to the dealer on the third occasion. The service writer said that the tire pressures were low, that air was added and the warning light was reset. Tires are oem bridgestone turanza 205/55-16 on a 2009 Nissan Sentra.
During routine maintenance, I was told I needed 4 new tires and 4 wheel alignment by the dealer. The estimated cost was incredibly high. I only had 35,000 miles on the car. I found a good master mechanic of over 20 years, bought new tires and had alignment done. I was told the rear wheels are bowed in and manufacturer does not call for any adjustment. He showed me the back of the car visible turning in slightly on each side and on the top. Only way to be that way would be if the bar was bent. Suggested I take it to the dealer. Dealer said the back wheels passed but are not at 0 as the front was. It was -15 which is considered passing. Their mechanic told me the manufacturer designed this car to be like that in the rear so when you have passengers in the back or weight in your trunk the wheels would then be straight! what if you are like me and hardly ever have any passengers in the back seat nor weight of any kind in the trunk? now the tires are to wear out prematurely? also my car in front was way out of alignment and tires were prematurely worn. Dealer told me I was lucky to get 35,000 miles out of my car that a lot of people only get 16,000. I am still pursuing this matter and this is step one above the dealership and there are other issues also which I will post in the appropriate category. Also now the tire gauge light keeps coming on.

On August 30th 2008 I purchased a new Nissan Sentra. On September 4th 2008 I took the car in for the dealership to reset the tire sensor. On September 26, 2008. I took the car in again for the tire pressure they again reset the sensor. I was told "they were sensitive". The car has been in a total of 5 times for the tire pressure sensor. My tires have completely gone flat. I have two broken rims. The dealership has refused to replace the tires but has replaced the sensors. They are currently looking for used rims to replace my broken rims. I have 26,000 miles on my car. I had my car inspected September 1, 2010. They informed me my tires needed replaced. The Nissan dealership told me they would not replace the tires but continue to look for used rims. These problems started 5 days following the purchase of my new Nissan Sentra.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the tire pressure light illuminated and remained lit, which indicated that there was low tire pressure. She took the vehicle to the dealer four times for inspection. On one occasion, she was informed that there was a nail in the tire, which caused low pressure and the light remained illuminated. The contact was informed that the dealer installed a sensor and the tire pressure light dimmed afterwards. Two to three weeks after the repair, the light illuminated again. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current mileage was 18,272 and failure mileage was 7.
I bought my 2008 Nissan Sentra brand new in sept 08. In Nov 08 the low tire pressure indicator came on and would not go off. I had the car serviced to reset the indicator. I was told that this occurs all the time and there is no way to fix it. My indicator has lit up again and I filed complaints with the dealership and with Nissan customer care. My tires all had 33 lbs of air in them at the time. I was told the indicator may have been activated because of the cold weather. They further told me that the only way to stop this indicator from staying on constantly is to remove the air from my tires and refill them with nitrogen which will cost me a fee of $50. I have not even owned my car for 6 months. I should have been advised about this issue before it was bought and it should be fixed at no cost to me. My vehicle is under full warranty.
False illumination of the low tire pressure light. Light will illuminate randomly and the dealer cannot fix it. It has been brought in 4 times in the last 4 months for it and they won't do anything. It is to the point where when the light comes on, I don't believe it.
My brake light came on 2 months after I bought my car in 5/2007. I called the dealer in glenside and was told to "check the fluid". My concern was this being a new car and lights were blinking on the dashboard such as low tire gauge and brake signals. When fluid was added the light did go out. In 8/2007 I made a trip to v. A. And had a hard time stopping in the jammed up stop and go traffic around washington. An accident would have occurred had I not pulled off the side of the road. Again in 9/2007 my light came on. I reported the incident when I went for routine maintenance and was told it was resolved. My concern is I knew these occurrences were not appropriate for a new car. I was disregarded with my concerns by the dealer I bought the car from, so who I am to trust with the "inspection" suggested to me in my owner notification?.
