I have a Nissan north America recall letter addressed to me for recal 06v-459, which is a airbag light and wiring harness recall on my drivers side. I was charged full price for the recall repair at riverhead nisaan in new york and later found my recall notice and have contacted the dealership and Nissan north America and no quality assistance. My recall letter says I am eligible for reimbursements and to contact the national highway traffic and safety administration. I am doing so because Nissan is not helping me. Riverhead Nissan has my repair in their system. Attached are photos of the recall of importance. Filed was claimed Jan 2021 with Nissan north America. Repair happened couple years ago.

Airbag light is constantly flashing and nothing on the steering wheel works. Cruise control, volume for the radio, mode select and etc. This seems to be a common issue after looking at other forums with Nissan Titan owners complaints.

The brake lights signal turns on and a light grinding noise can be heard and brakes go out. I have to stop for a few minutes and turn off my truck. After a few minutes, I turn on the truck and the brake lights turns off and my brakes start working again. This has happened more than twice. Thank god that the times it has happen there has been hardly any traffic. Although, one day it happened on the freeway so I calmed down, release the gas pedal and cruised to the next exit and pulled into a gas station. All this time the brake fluid reservoir is full so after turning off the truck and turning it back on again, that solves the problem. This is very scary because we've been trying to take vacations on the truck and I don't feel safe driving it like this, especially with my three kids in the back. Another issue that I have is the airbag light just stays on and flashing. I've tried having it reset but it doesn't work. We have a 2007 Nissan armada also and it has the same issues as my Titan. We thought that by buying Nissan we wouldn't have any issues, but we were wrong.

I bought truck new in 9/16 and airbag light kept coming on. I took off back to dealer several times and they kept saying it was fixed. I would leave and the light came back on. They claimed they fixed it but I was involved in 2 accidents and neither time the airbags deployed. My wife refuses to ride in unsafe truck also I do lyft driving in the mornings and I'm not feeling safe now driving other people's around. I can't keep this truck it is unsafe also the picture shows the accident that caused over 20000. 00 damage and no airbags. The crash was while I was moving. * dsy.

On the king cab rear doors the wiring harness for the air bag break due to the manufacture design of placing cooper wiring in a place that frequently bends. As a result the wire come apart and cause the airbag light to register a fault with the airbag system.
My Nissan Titan is supposedly not included in the takata recall, however, the airbag light has come on and I am very concerned that if I was involved in a crash, it may not deploy or may deploy without any reason. I have talked to the Nissan dealer in hattiesburg, ms, but they said it is not included. If something like this would happen, I am sure Nissan would pay dearly. My Nissan also had the brake problem that you did the recall on several years back , but again, my particular vehicle was not included in the recall, but the Nissan here did fix it and did not charge me. This needs to be resolved before I get killed or injured badly.
Nissan previously issued a recall dealing with the wiring harness issue, #06v459000 to reroute and change the wiring cover. This affects the airbags and the operation of the seat belts, as well as the audio system. The airbag light is flashing and the rear passenger door speaker doesn't work. The recall was just a temporary cover up of the problem. The issue came up again and they refuse to fix it, wanting to charge upwards of $1000 to replace the wiring harnesss, a problem they are already aware of. The recall did not fix the problem, only a temporary cover-up.

I bought my Nissan versa 2009 in henderson Nissan in nevada. 9 months after (11/23/2009) the passenger airbag lights went on . I took it back to the dealer ship and they fix. Now last Feb. 09,2015 the passenger airbag light is flashing. I took my car to the same dealership were I bought my car to check for that problem. They told me that my car need a new airbag and spiral cable that will cost me $1241. I ask them why, this is a manufacture defect why should I pay for it. They say because I dont have any more warranty. I said this is one of the safety feature of the car. But still they insist on the warranty. I asked the guy if it is not fix what will happend, he said the aig bag will not inflate if I have an accident. So I call the Nissan customer service office to ask for assistance but they say they cannot help me. I can't afford to pay for that kind of amount. My car is only 6 years old and the mileage is only 56,147. Why am I having this problem to soon.
The air bags light is planning. Tire pressure alert tpms light is planning.

My 2006 Nissan Titan king cab has the air bag light flashing , I was advise by a mechanic that there's a recall on same vehicles just like mine, the recent dealer's diagnosis confirms that the wiring for the harness are broken and it's require to be replaced, this issue applies to the same description on the recall campaign # 06v459000 Nissan claims my VIN it's not on the recall , but the problem is the same ,it's a safety issue and should be Nissan,s responsibility to repair . This is unsafe for me ,my family and other drivers out there. I hope the national highway safety administration open a recall under my VIN range. This can be a serious safety hazard .
I received a recall notice (recall 06v-459) from Nissan approximately 4 years ago regarding the wiring harness being defective. The original notice did not mention that it would require service only if the airbag light was on or flashing (which it was not). I brought my vehicle in for the recall (at kelly Nissan of lynnfield MA), not knowing this and they simply taped the wiring harnesses after inspection and recorded the recall serviced on the Nissan Titan and most likely charged Nissan of north America for parts and labor for a harness replacement. At 65,000 miles I started to get the airbag sensor light on my dashboard flashing constantly. I researched the flashing code from the sensor and it turns out to be related to the passenger side wiring harness. As recently as 2 weeks ago I received what I thought was another recall notice from Nissan of north America which clearly stated this time " if the red airbag warning lamp is illuminated - please contact your dealership immediately for repairs" , after scheduling another appointment with the same dealership that did the original recall and bringing the vehicle in they told me that the recall had already been done and the was no other action that could be performed without a charge to me. The vehicle has never been in an accident as I am the original owner. I find it difficult to believe that if a vehicle has a recall and parts are replaced that the same failure will occur with the replaced parts, hence my conclusion that the actual work was never performed only recorded as such against the vehicles (VIN). Any help you could provide would be appreciated. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Abs computer malfunctioned causing the 4 wheel drive harness to over heat, 4 wheel drive harness has melted and won`t engage 4 wheel drive, it also effected the air bags light on dash to flash and passenger air bags to shut off.
Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated the air bag light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer performed a diagnostic that located the failure at the passenger door harness designed was defected and caused the wires to disconnect. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and they advised the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 04v345000 seat belts: front: anchorage and denied assistance with the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 121,507 and the current mileage was 121,600. Li.
Air bag light on indicating airbag malfunction.
Air bag light on all the time, dealer state nothing wrong with air bag.
The front passenger airbag lights shows the airbag is consistently off, which would indicate to me that the front passenger airbag is not activated or the sensor in the seat is defective. This occurs with every passenger, including a male weighing 250 lbs.
I own a 2005 Nissan Titan king cab, which I purchased it in November of 2005. After, approximately 30days of ownership and 500 miles of travel; the front brakes began to experience complications (they would shudder while braking and create an unreasonable amount of brake dust. ) I quickly return to my local dealership where I purchased it, for servicing. The Nissan dealership repaired the rotors. During the summer of 2006, I began to notice a musty odor emitting from the floor and carpeting of the passenger side. During a routine oil change and requested the mechanic to inspect the truck for the cause of the odor. They couldn't locate the source of the odor. I returned the truck to the dealership for the same problem on several other occasions, during the summer of 2007 odor reappeared; they replaced the rubber gasket around door windows in hopes of resolving the issue. Meanwhile the front brakes rotors were replaced again and the gauges (fuel, oil, tach ,voltmeter) acting erratically. The dealership repaired the brakes under my extended warranty & prorated my purchase of a new Nissan auto battery; according to service dept. This was the cause of the gauges malfunction. Then again in2008, I was told the brakes were no longer under warranty and that the musty odor was caused by water coming into the cabin via a small void in the window sealant around the "factory installed windshield upon hearing this, I chose to take my truck to another mechanic due to Nissan mechanic inability to resolve the brake issue & locate the source of the water. This year 2009, the rear end was repaired due the seals leaking on the driver's side and preventive replacement on the passenger seals. However, a few old issues along with new ones that still exist. My new mechanic told me the source of the water & odor issue is the a/c condenser leaking into the cabin, the blinking air bag indicator light was due to a harness needing replacing in the rear doors.
I was driving down the highway at normal speed around 55-65 in houston texas. A car pulled in front of me and I had to put the brakes on quickly. When I applied the brakes the pedal mushed completely to the floor making a grinding noise and the vehicle barley slowed down. I made my way to the side of the road as the brakes made an loud grinding noise, and lost brakes completely. When I finally stopped(with out getting hit my cars) I depressed the brake and there was no response. I had to turn the truck off and as I sat there I heard a noise under the dash, like something reset itself. I start the truck up and moved slowly forward to see if I had brakes and suddenly they were working again. This truck has done this a million times and it is just by luck that I have no been involved in an accident when the brakes go out. The dealership says there is no recall and nothing he can do without a thousand dollars and then he isn't sure it will fix the problem. I am stuck with this truck and it continues to loose the brakes. The passenger airbag light has been on since 2011.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the air bags failed and the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 06v459000 (electrical system); however; the repair did not correct the failure. The dealer diagnosed that the air bag wire was loose, but the wire repair did not correct the failure. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle again and determined that the air bag wiring harness assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 30,000.
