1 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2018

"takata recall" took in for service/repair and now warning light is on. Have received several notices to bring car into a dealer to have the recall fixed regarding the takata airbags. I have had no warning lights or any issues up until bringing the car in for repair for the recall on the takata airbags. Upon taking car to stevens creek Nissan workorder 170159 July 11, 2018, my car was returned to me after what was noted on the work order as remove and replace air bag inflator, campaign pm685 Versa hatchback. My car is a 4 door sedan, not a hatchback. Upon driving off with my car the warning light "airbag" is no flashing and will not go off. This indicates something was not done correctly and now Nissan refuses to correct their error unless I pay out of pocket for a dieanostic plus repair fees and labor. I have never had any issues whatsoever with my car until taking it into stevens creek Nissan to have a recall for the takata airbags addressed. Before I seek any legal action I wanted to reach out to you for some assistance. How safe am I driving my car with this warning light "airbag" ? why would a recall on the takata airbags cause a issue after they were addressed/fixed by Nissan stevens creek? am I to be killed on the road or worse before Nissan/takata will take responsibility for a recall, fix, error?.

3 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2017

Takata recall: my 2009 Nissan Versa was recalled for the takata air bags. I received a formal notice from Nissan last spring and was advised of the potential issue but they did not have parts available to replace the part at fault. Their remedy was to not have anyone sit in the front passenger seat until a replacement part was available. I finally got notice to schedule the replacement of the air bag inflator in late September. The service advisor at my Nissan dealership advised there were 2 recalls for both front air bag inflators but they only had parts for the passenger side. Service was scheduled for 10/2/2017 and the passenger side inflator was replaced within a week of my receiving the notice. However, the dealership service advisor told us that the driver's side part is not available an will not be available for 3 to 4 months. This is unacceptable to me - will Nissan give me a loaner vehicle until the part is in stock? apparently, lives are in jeopardy and no one seems to be in a hurry to remediate the situation!.

8 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2016

Takata recall--I received an "interim" notice maybe an entire year ago regarding a recall of my vehicle due to an issue with the passenger air bag. I was told in this notice that I should not allow anyone to ride in the passenger's seat of my car due to a problem with the air bag that may cause its inflator to "rupture or deploy abnormally, resulting in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. " I was told to wait for an invitation to repair letter, but it has been a very long time and I've heard nothing further from the dealer about this problem or this interim notice. I have to be able to drive my car. Asking me not to allow passengers to ride in the passenger seat for an entire year while waiting on parts is not feasible. If this issue is as serious as was advised in the letter, I think something else should have been done in the interim. Even just communicating the reason for the delays from the manufacturer would be something. Or explaining why turning off the passenger airbag is or is not a good trade-off for keeping it on, and risking that the airbag will deploy improperly and maim occupants of my car. This issue sounds scary and I haven't been provided with much pertinent information from the dealer about it, let alone any potential options aside from waiting and dreading my passenger airbag deploying.
