Sometime in the last 3 or 4 months the air bag light came on and would not go off. Took car to garage Nov. 24,2020 to repair the light and was informed that the air bags needed to be replaced. The garage informed me that there was a recall for airbags by Nissan covering the time frame my car was built . Nissan rejected the recall repair because the air bags installed in my car were not tikata brand air bags. It would seem reasonable that all air bags used in Nissan Versa vehicles during the recall period should be included in the recall and replaced whatever the brand and not limited to only the takata brand.
Takata recall. We were unable to get the recall fixed until March 16th as parts weren't available. We took it in on fri the 16th and got both airbags replaced under the recall. As we were leaving the shop, the airbag light came on and was flashing. We thought it was just resetting after the service. We called the shop and they had us bring it in today the 21st to get it fixed. They now claim that it had nothing to do with them and that we owe money to get it fixed. That light did not come on until they messed with the airbags for the recall. We strongly feel that something they did when servicing the car made the light come on. They said since it wasn't their cause, we would have to pay to fix it. I refuse to pay for something they caused.
In may 2017 I have experienced airbag indicator light flashing my dashboard of Nissan Versa Versa 2010. I have scheduled an appointment at Nissan service center, where I was first notified that there is pending passenger airbag recall (did not receive any notification from Nissan about that). The passenger airbag was replaced under the recall at no charge but the airbag light was still present. At that particular point, Nissan service did not want to perform any more inspections for free so I was charged $160. 00 to get advice on flashing airbag light (repair order 1 attached). At this moment I was given an estimate of approximately $1500-1600 to get the driver seat airbag fixed. I decided to go for it (even though that it was almost half of the value of my car). My car was repaired one week later (after 2 times replacing the airbag and modules on driver seat) as the parts appear to be defective. I was without the car for about 10 days. I received notification from Nissan directly in October about a recall on drivers airbag. I have contacted premier Nissan of san jose, where my repair was being done to claim a refund of $1,481. 68 for the repairs I was not responsible to pay. They told me to contact consumer affair and Nissan directly for a refund. The service provider stated that all repairs which were done in June need to be replaced again once new parts are available, therefore I need to be eligible for a refund. The airbag still needs to be replaced in March when new parts are available.

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Versa. While driving various speeds, the air bag disabled warning indicator illuminated and the air bag failure warning indicator intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the seat belt retraction was replaced; however, the failures recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed that the cause of the failure could be the seat belt sensor or a fault in the air bag. The dealer was unsure if the part could be ordered and if the vehicle could be serviced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 07v094000 (seat belts). The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.
Takata recall. The airbag light is on in our car and flashes. I am concerned to be driving it as the airbags may be unsafe. It happens as soon as car is turned on and continues during driving.
I moved my passenger seat back as far as it would go and my airbag light came on and has been on for months. I have moved the seat back and forth and it is still on. Not sure why moving my seat to the far back position would cause my airbag light to come on. It really concerns me.
