Starting about 2-3 weeks ago my wife was complaining about the a/c not working proprtly. Then about a week ago when you turn the alarm on the horn would not beep letting you know it was armed. Yesterday when I went out to start the car to go to work nothing worked or came on. My wife brought her vehicle over to jump start it. As soon as the jumper cables were hooked up the battery on the Versa exploded and there was alot of smoke. Now the car is just sitting in my driveway cant even get it out of gear to move it. Even if it gets fixed my wife is now affraid to put our 2 year old son, herself or me in it to drive anywhere. You can still smell the burnt smell from under the hood.
Takata recall: this is third time airbag inflator light goes on. Had recall repaired a yr ago at clermont, FL dealer. After repair was done noticed horn, air conditioner and defrost buttons not working on panel. I immediately pointed it out to dealer. They fixed air conditioner button only, said the other two issues were not there problem. I spoke to warrant dept that day at the dealership to no avail dept. Stated car was out of warranty. If I wanted it fixed I had to pay. Dealership said it was not their problem I had to pay and they would gladly give me an estimate. Horn and other buttons on panel were all working properly until air bag was fixed that day. I called Nissan warranty dept again. Dept said they could not help because it was a dealership issue. I took vehicle to another dealership in leesburg, FL 3 months ago. They stated there was a recall on airbag I did not know about. They fixed problem. 2 months later airbag inflator light goes on again. I went to the Nissan dealer in clermont and they stated there was no recall on file. They would contact me when they recieved information about it. I tried to explain to manager that I spoke to the warranty dept and they stated I needed to bring vehicle in to have this issue fixed right away. Again manager said there was nothing they could do at the time I would have to wait to receive information about recall. I really need help regarding the issues at hand. Horn is not working due to the airbag malfunction. I drive this vehicle everyday and I am very scared sumthing might happen due to these issues and recall.

Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated for an extended period of time ever since the vehicle was purchased. Also, the horn was serviced more than twice and failed to function properly. The dealer (kelly Nissan, inc. , 4300 95th st, oak lawn, IL 60453, (708) 499-1000) was notified and stated that the failure was not related to an air bag recall repair. Therefore, the vehicle would need to be further tested and diagnosed to provide a repair solution. The vehicle was also taken to an independent repair facility to repair the horn, but the independent mechanic stated that the air bag failure needed to be diagnosed and repaired first. The manufacturer was notified. The manufacturer issued three air bag recalls, two tsbs for the air bags, and one TSB for the electrical system. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
I was driving south on a local highway when another vehicle pulled in front of me from a side street. I immediately swerved to the right and attempted to warn the other motorist with my horn, but it did not work. I avoided this crash, but strongly believe a working horn would have helped a lot in this situation. The horn on the vehicle usually works if you hit it in the very center of the button, but only works about 50% of the time when it is pressed on either side where the horn symbols are. When we tested another 2009 Versa at the dealership, the horn worked even worse than my car. Nissan/north America and the local dealership assert the horn is working as designed. I believe they do not want to admit it is a design defect because they do not want to make repairs. I believe they should stand behind their product and honor their manufacturer's warranty. I hope this dangerous defect will be repaired by Nissan at their expense.
Horn not reliable and will not always work or makes a low "sick" sound, had to have fuel valve replaced as car wouldn't start, had to replace battery, had to replace door panels as material on arm rests came out.
I brought my car back to the dealer cause the fix my airbag recall but when I got my car back my horn stop working it was working when I brought it to them then I went back the third time cause the airbags light came back on now they want to charge me for what they did im I responsible to fix my repair.
Nissan Versa 2007. Some times the car won't start with the intelligent key. The car sometimes locks automatically and other times it won't lock with the intelligent key, I am afraid the car will lock with my grandchild in it and I can't open the car. I used the horn and the radio came on. I have taken the car to the dealer several times and thy can not find anything wrong, but there certainly is.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the horn does not blow when you tap it on certain positions. The inability to alert other drivers increased the risk of vehicle crash. The dealer was notified and a technician concluded that the failure was a normal characteristic of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 483 and the current mileage was 12900.
