Power Steering Light On Problems of Nissan Versa

Power steering light comes on and power steering is lost making it hard to turn wheel. This has happened while turning the wheel all the way with the vehicle in motion luckily at low speed. It has been on the shop and they said everything looked fine. It has happened 3 times in the last two weeks. After shutting the engine off and restarting, control is gained again.

I was driving just about to get onto the highway but as I was turning onto the on ramp I suddenly couldn't turn the wheel and crashed into the guard rail and my power steering light was on. My car underwent extensive damage on the outside and the alignment is now very bad. It had to sit overnight and when we got back to it the light was off. This is a very dangerous issue. (miles per hour below is an est. ) this just occurred and in the process with insurance.

The power steering light has come up 2 times within the last 2 weeks. Both times have been when the car is parked and I turn it on. The light comes up and the steering wheel locks. Both times I have turned off the vehicle and the problem goes away. If this ever happens while driving on the highway I will probably lose control of the vehicle and crash. The car only had 35105 miles on it.

Power steering light comes on and power steering is lost making it impossible to turn wheel. Has happened multiple times while starting the car and has happened twice while driving. Turning the car off and restarting seems to help, however while driving this isn't always possible.

The power steering light on my 2011 Versa occasionally goes on and the power steering goes out. I shut the car off and then the problem seems to go away. This has happened maybe 3-4 times in the past 4 months? I called the dealer to see if they can fix it and they said it is something that I should try to live with since it is so rare. They offered no solution or a way for them to determine the problem. My daughter drives this car and it makes me nervous that the power steering could go out at any time. I can't imagine that this is an acceptable solution for a Nissan product? this seems like a serious safety concern?.

Power steering light came on after initially starting the vehicle. Power steering shut down completely. Will randomly fix itself after turning car off and restarting.

Vehicle started lurching while driving, power shut off on its own and then going back up to speed at 45mph. When slowed down to park, the power steering light came on and the power steering immediately cut off.
