The transmission on this vehicle jerks at times making the vehicle lunge forward. It also does not engage from a stop or slow speed placing me in danger of being hit by the vehicles hesitation. When going up a hill the transmission does not engage or slips prior to engaging so I have no power to go up the hill. The transmission slips at a stop sign so when I pull out I never know if I will be stuck in the way of traffic. This transmission is dangerous. When turning the transmission does not engage for a short time jerking the vehicle.

My cvt transmission went out just 5 months after purchasing the vehicle from the used car dealership, ebersole of lebanon. The vehicle has 94,000 miles on it currently. It is an automatic cvt transmission and tends to slip in and out of gear a lot. The vehicle has these problems when sitting, driving and accelerating as well.

The cvt transmission slips and gives uneven acceleration under all circumstances. This is extremely dangerous when merging into traffic or turning into oncoming traffic. This is a known issue to Nissan na & many lawsuits have been filed over the years. The first transmission was replaced at 20,000 miles & another was just replaced at 85,000 miles. Nissan knows that they are providing an inferior product, based on the # of lawsuits it has faced over the years concerning the cvt. Not only is the product unreliable, it is also dangerous to the driver, the vehicle's occupants and anyone else who may affected by an accident caused by cvt failure.
The cvt transmission has been known since 2004 to have major problems. The car needs a new transmission it has been slipping when driving and it wont down shift when you get going. Nissan has many lawsuits against them but they wont help me at all.

I purchased a used 2015 Nissan Versa from drivetime back on 04/20/18 with 46,732 miles on it. I have had it for almost 8 months and it now has close to 60,000 miles. I started having problems with driving here in the last couple months with the car shutting down, transmission jerking & transmission slipping. I took it to a repair shop who advised me that the transmission needs to be replaced. They quoted me between $2000. 00 to $4000. 00 depending if I buy a used or new transmission. I checked online and see that this is well know problem with Nissan vehicles, with their cvt transmission. It shows that they extended the warranty out to 10 years and 120,000 on some of the their vehicles with the cvt transmission. However, I just called my local Nissan dealership and they advised me that my vehicle is not covered under this extended warranty. I would like to file a complaint and advise that this is a safety issue. For the car to shut down in the midle of the highway while im driving it, could result in me being involved in a serious accident or being killed. Please let me know what remedies I have going forward with this issue. Thank you.

When I first purchase the Nissan Versa 2015 in sept. 2015, the car was used it had 15,000 miles on it. I test drove it a little bit when I tried to drive it off I noticed the transmission was acting up before I got off the stockton dealership. I brought it back and they test drove it. They said yes there is something wrong and replace it. Now, I am thinking back, the dealership knew the transmission was not working correctly. Before I purchased the car. The dealership convinced me to get the extended warranty. I am thinking why is a brand new car with 15,000 miles on it. . So, it took about a month to replace the transmission and it drove ok. Then in 2017, I noticed a small slipping noise, like a small drumroll every now and then. Then finally I took the car to oakland dealership in 2017 around 88,000 miles. They couldn't locate the transmission problem or noise. In a few days, I pick up the car and as soon as I drove it I hear the slipping drumroll sound. I took it back and the dealership said we tested and the transmission was fine. I was discouraged with the results, now it Jan 2019, many months later, and transmission slipping and expired warranty. The transmission slipping, more frequent loud drumroll noise and shaking while trying to accelerate the car. I looked it up on google and I noticed that Nissan doubled the extended warranty on their transmission. Today, I went to the oakland dealership and they said my Nissan Versa is not under that extended warranty. How can this be? there are hundreds of complaints and failures about the Nissan transmission. Nissan and dealership knew about the transmission failure in the Versa. Right now, I feel the car is unsafe to drive on the street because the transmission will fail an any given time and driving condition. Please recall all Nissan Versa and have the company fix this recurring transmission issue.
On or about November 5th of 2018 while traveling on the highway home the vehicle quit accelerating. We limped the vehicle home where a local transmission shop inspected the transmission. It was apparent the transmission was slipping. The quote we received was that the transmission was "shot". The vehicle had been purchased used and was only owned about 16 months.

I recieved the car with a damaged heat shield. I was told that it was fixed yet continued to have problems with it. Lately I have had axel seal leak issues as well as transmission slippage when accelerating.
I have a 2012 Nissan Versa sv with a cvt transmission in it. At about 110000 miles the transmission started slipping. It was recommended that we do a drain and fill on the transmission, that was done car made it 5 miles and transmission went completely out. The dealership mentioned to my wife this has a 50/50 chance of working. On their statement they posted that it needed a 4000 transmission before she left the lot with it. I have done a lot of reading on these cvt transmissions and they are notorious for issues all the way up until 2010 they even extended the warranty to 10 years 120,000 miles, Nissan does not want to stand behind this they have offered us 750. 00 on a known defect with these transmissions.
Transmission failure at 65000, 5k beyond warrenty. Transmission is slipping between gears around 35-40 mph.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the transmission gears were slipping and there was an abnormal noise. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to schedule an appointment. The dealer and manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 12v032000 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.
The car has a cvt transmission. Transmission slips and over heats. Took it to 3 transmission shops all 3 say it unrepairable. Was also to cvt transmission will be discontinued and they all in time will over heat and cheaply made and a transmission should not go out but a cvt is a defect and can cause an accident and should be recalled and no errors was caused by me and cvt transmission is no good have contact nessin and they refuse to replace. There are many complaints on the cvt transmission on-line.
My wife and I purchased our Versa in March of this year. For the last couple weeks we have noticed that the car has been losing power while driving and it is becoming a hazard as we are trying to accelerate and it is doing nothing. I am concerned as it seems as though the transmission is slipping and for the car to have under 70k miles on it this should not be happening.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the gears had slipped several times upon changing gears with no warning. The contact also indicated that while traveling approximately 20 mph, there was a sudden loss of power, the steering wheel was completely tight and the vehicle stalled. The contact had to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road, turned of the vehicle and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they also provided no remedy but indicated that they would cover towing the vehicle back to the dealer if the failure recurrs. The dealer gave the vehicle back to the contact, it was not repaired and the condition may recurr again. The contact was included in NHTSA campaign id number: 15v507000 (service brakes, hydraulic , vehicle speed control) and was unable to determine when the repair would be completed by the dealer and the dealer was to schedule the recall repair mid October 2015. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.
