When I drive my 2006 Nissan Xterra and it hits around 2000rpms, or sometimes around 60 mph it starts to vibrate. It feels like it is coming from the rear but not sure. If I let off the gas a second it will go away. It doesn't do it all the time but often. I have had the tires checked and balanced. It feels like I am driving over rumble srtips.
2006 Nissan Xterra: steering column ("control unit") was defective causing shorts in break/turn lights, and most importantly, steering locking up in a turn, requiring me to fight to get the wheel to turn and avoid an accident. Mechanic indicated that the parts vendor said they get this a lot with Xterras!.
Failure of front differential while utilizing 4-wheel drive. Once 4x4 was disengaged, front differential would bind up violently, randomly, while driving. End result: destroyed spider gears, replaced under warranty.
Failure of 4 wheel drive power train due to failure of abs sensor. This a dedicated off road vehicle with off road package installed by factory. The abs system should not trump the 4 wheel drive and cause it to not engage. If I was far off road and 4 wheel drive system failed, I could be subject to serious injury or possibly death due to adverse weather conditions as I would have to walk and get help in prevailing weather conditions.
