The airbag light came on and steadily flashes. I live in a coastal area with high humidity and am concerned that this is a corrosion issue in the sensor.

Airbag light is blinking. I've reset the alert and then after driving for a few minutes, it returned. Dealership was unsure if there was a recall or if Nissan would replace the airbags. I found this site as I was looking for information. The airbag light blinks when the vehicle is in park or is running.

Getting a blinking airbag light but did not see it on the recall list.
Takata recall received air bag recall notice. Same time airbag light started flashing on dash. Took to dealer. Charged $124 to diagnose air bag light. Concluded seat belt. Refused to reprogram air bag til seat belt replaced for $500. Wrote to Nissan consumer affairs. Called me 4 times to discuss. Final conclusion: vehicle too old to help me with repair. Driving around with dangerous airbags. Nissan will not fix air bag recall until I pay them to replace the seat belt. Afraid to drive on uneven ground as warned by Nissan in recall notice. Why is airbag light flashing if it is not a warning about airbags? if there is a seatbelt malfunction why is the seatbelt light flashing. Passenger seat belt appears to function fine. Dealer said that seatbelts currently not functioning!!!?? vehicle has less than 50k miles on it. Please refer to attached letter. Removed names from the letter.
Purchased the vehicle 4/25/11 in MD - moved to az in june2012. The vehicle has just over 42,000 miles - one wk ago the passenger airbag light came on, blinks continuously. Took to the nearest Nissan dealer - 92 miles away- was told it was the sensor, they had no part, would cost $2,000 to replace and might not fix the problem. Vehicle has never been in any kind of accident and has been regularly serviced. This is the same problem Nissan has recalled lots of other models for - they should cover this! this happened while vehicle was parked in driveway.

Airbag blinking, Nissan dealer check but blinking came back. Tire pressure indicator on even after tire pressure is check and corrected.
Airbag light constantly blinking after turn on the vehicle and does not go off. Not sure if airbags installed are from takata. At least, I review if there is any recall based on VIN # and there is no apparently recall in this unit. Very concerned due to the fact last years a main cable that connect the horn and other components was installed.

Airbag light constantly blinking and will not go off. Dealership tried and to no avail. Not sure if it will go off on own or in accident. Very concerned.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated intermittently on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer stated that the type of air bags the vehicle was equipped with were no longer produced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle could not be repaired. The failure mileage was 94,000.
Our airbag light stays on constantly and, now the driver's seat belt light stays on. Since, this is a safety issue, this is still a manufacturer's problem and should be reviewed by a local dealer. With the current issues in the media about the airbags, this should be cared for.
The vehicle started to sputter and the abs and airbag lights started to come on. When the gears shifted up, it started to resist acceleration and losing transmission power. Started to shift down and coast. Pulled over to the side and the vehicle shut off. Would not start back up.

Turned on vehicle and the air bag light indicated there is a malfunction. The vehicle was parked all day and the light was not blinking on the way to work. The vehicle has not been in an accident. On Dec 29, 2008, a recall (NHTSA 08v690000) for 2005 Xterra vehicles. Maryland (MD) and the district of columbia (DC) were included on the list, but northern virginia was not listed. The reason the air bags could malfunction was due to areas with a heavy concentrations of road salt in the winter. Northern virginia is surrounded by DC & MD, the snow covered all the surrounding areas. The salt is heavy on the roads in va, DC, & MD. Request virginia be included in the recall, to exclude northern virginia was nonsensical.
The airbag light began to blink in the dash, and the passenger airbag sensor was not engaged upon starting the vehicle.
The passenger side air bag light started blinking even with the sitebelt on propperly. This vehicule had never been in crash once or ever. I am very concern.

Passanger airbag light on. This was a recall on many cars depending where they were built but I seen they were including all the Nissan/pathfinders 2005. Never received a recall. It had been fixed and went out again!.
The vdc and slip light are constantly on when the battery has either died, or has been disconnected. Once the battery is disconnected the vdc is off and the slip system is off as well. After the battery was disconnected once again the vdc, slip system, and now my air bag light is now constantly flashing and illuminated. I've researched this problem and there are hundreds or thousands that have this same problem. In the owners manual it gives you a very vague description of how to reset this light. I've taken it to the manufacture to be reset, they say it's the vehicle's steering angle sensor that has to be reset, everytime you disconnect the battery, battery dies, alternator goes out, etc. It's $100+ everytime you have to have it reset. Surely this malfunction in their electrical system is not safe, especially if it means now my airbags won't deploy.
Defective airbag sensor for 2005 Nissan Xterra. Recall on NHTSA id # 08v690000, dated 12/18/2008. Had sensor replaced by Nissan dealership on April 9 or 10, 2009. On 02/24/2010 airbag lights for driver and passenger came on, owners manual states the airbag is non-operational and needs serviced. Will this be on the prior recall? will this be a new recall? will I need to take responsibility due to a prior recall?.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Xterra. When an occupant is seated in the passenger seat, the air bag indicator remains illuminated and is not activated for persons weighing 100 pounds. The dealer stated that the air bag was operating as designed and there was nothing to repair. The dealer will inform the contact on the weight requirements that need to be enabled for the indicator to dim. The failure and current mileages were 12,000.
Abs light came on while driving. Vehicle was taken to dealer who stated rear passenger side wheel was about to fall off. Inner seal on axle bearing had failed. Consumer noticed gear oil around rear passenger side tire. Vehicle at dealership at this time. Consumer states that now the air bag light has illuminated, dealer stated that the control module and the coil wire for the drivers side air bag needed to be replaced.
The air bag light continues to come on. The dealer service dept has replaced the left front seat belt(driver) tongue assembly, as a way of correcting the air bag indicator light. This was done on 5-31-02. The light came back on, that same day, before I left the dealership. They then reset the computer. On 8-9-02, I returned to delarship again, the airbag indicator light came back on, 8-2-02. The service dept attempted to correct problem again r&r pillar cover trim to check seatbelt pretensioner. They found harness was in a bind & was taped short frm the factory. Cut away tape & pulled some slack in wire. Then on 8-14-02, the airbag indicator light came back on again. I called the dealership & advised that when I bring car in for regular service on 8-16-02, they need to correct the airbag indicator light problem or I want to get a replacement vehicle. I also called the Nissan consumer affairs dept, my complaint# is 3862334. I was advised they will contact the dealership & assist them in repairing problem or if it cant be repaired, then they will take the necessary steps to buy back the vehicle. I researched your web site today & found: pe02-038, Nissan Xterra 2002 problem has prev been reported for the driver's airbag system malfunction. At this point, I am requesting assistance in obtaining a new vehicle, since it appears this may be a problem for the 2002 Xterra's that were prev sold. Thank you for you assistance.
Airbag indicator light started to blink during normal driving conditions. Dealer was contacted. Upon diagnostic reading, the said that the airbag would need to be replaced if indicator started blinking again. The light functioned properly for the rest of that day, but the light started blicking again after starting the vehicle the next day. The dealer was contacted.
