Unknown.
The recall has been in place with no solution presented by the manufacturer since February of 2023 with no remedy for the steering wheel emblem issue, making airbag deployment potentially unsafe.

Fuel pump power steering abs O2 sensors yes it's available for inspection upon requests car shut off while driving at 70 miles an hour on a highway due to fuel pump because my VIN number is not with all the other 2003 Nissan Xterra's that have recalls on all of the same problems I have just for some reason my car has zero recalls which is ridiculous and not believable so yes my life was put at risk I took it to an independent service my mechanic because I can't take it to a dealer because all the parts that are broken and that need replacement that have been recalled on every other 2003 does not apply to my VIN so I've had to pay for labor and parts and the headache that I could have had this all replaced and fixed due to the recall and I would have taken it to the dealership immediately after purchasing the car in 2019 and since the previous owner didn't have any recalls why would he bother either I will not pass inspection if they do not fix this evap O2 sensor and now my fuel pump I would like to be reimbursed on that was purchased through Nissan dealership the gauge is no longer working just put in brand new part so I would like someone from the dealerships take a look at my car and replace everything that's wrong with it with every other 2003 Nissan Xterra regardless of my VIN number and I have check engine light on forever for evac leak replace catalytic converters exhaust system O2 sensors power steering fuel pump abs sensors I would just like to take the best care of this vehicle that I can and that would be done through the dealership replacing all of the recalled parts on this make model of the Xterra 2003 3. 3 l v6 non supercharged. Speeds over 60 hits a bump and starts rocking and bouncing.
The steering weal it's becoming stiff and is becoming hard to maneuver around and it might affect my driving and I'm scared I might crash and this is the only vehicle I have and own and have no other means to purchase another car. I was heading to work and I tried turning on the corner and it just became hard to steer the steering weal.
When driving my Xterra, it loses power and cuts out on me. This is very dangerous and cuts completely off when I'm accelerating. There is a declaration and then the vehicle won't crank or start leaving me stranded. This is not the first time over years that the Xterra has cut off on me. All dashboard systems stop completely when it happens. I have no control over the car when it happens.

According to your recalls and my VIN# my new used vehicle has not been maintenance for the recall. There is distinct play in the steering and the vehicle is bouncy. I need to know where to take my Xterra to have it fixed ASAP if possible. Recall campaign numbers are 10e019000 & 10v208000.

My daughter had just purchased a 2005 Nissan Xterra, the day before her accident. She was traveling on a roadway approaching a curve in the road when the front right tire locked up causing the vehicle to pull slightly right and fail to respond to counter steer. The vehicle left the roadway and went into the grass began to spin sideways and struck a hydrant and flip 2. 5 times resting on its roof. I saw where there was several recalls, but when I enter the VIN its had no open recalls on the specific VIN. Although, this same exact problem has occurred in the same models.
When turning the steering wheel will lock and engine will shut down.

Tl the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized while driving. The contact had to use extra strength just to turn the steering wheel. In addition, the abs and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the catalytic converter was replaced, but the failure recurred. Steering is sloppy. Steering wheel has excessive play. There is a lot on this topic across the internet forums.
My 07 Xterra has extreme rust in the door jams and rear panels. The rack-n-pinion, power steering system leaks fluid.
I took my vechicle to ace auto and he claim he fixed it gave me a list the second time but not the first time it sat there for a year than I got it out for 2 months back in again its goes real slow back fires now and sterring wheel locked one day now its acting like it dont have power to it. Everytime you go sppeed limit the steering locks it shakes and not enough power to go barely go up the hill too.
I was driving to work one day and while I was turning corners I felt it was getting harder to steer. I stop at the red light and when drove off again I was going maybe 5-10 mph, I turned left and I was going to straighten the car up the car started to swurve and bear to the left. I tried to regain control but the car would not respond I ended up crashing into a pole.
While driving in the street, the right control arm of my vehicle broke resulting lost control of the vehicle and crash. There first recall of this part happen sometime in 2010 but I did not receive it. In 2015, I had the accident. Earlier this year, 2017 I receive the email about this part being defective and part of the recall.
We own a Nissan sentra 2012. I was driving my car to the mechanic in order to do an oil change. Five blocks before entering the mechanic shop, I heard a strong metallic noise on the left bottom part of my car. I asked the mechanic to check such noise. He told me that it was the electric rack and pinnion unit. It was broken. According to him it is very rare that this part of the car could be broken in a 2012 car. Since he warned me that could have been dangerous to drive the car in that condition—a serious accident could have occurred, for when it happens both front wheels will roll in different directions—I ordered him to fix the problem. It cost me $ 730. Seeking some explanation and some compensatory help, I was to the Nissan dealership from which we bought the car and talked with the manager—mr. Rourke. The dealership Nissan central—1919 central av. Yonkers NY, 10710. He told me that my warranty has expired and that he could not be sure of the incident since I didn’t bring the car into his place. Also, he told me that if I have always brought my car into his place to make maintance and repairs, maybe I could have saved much money or maybe Nissan could have done it free. Therefore, we would ask you to consider seeking or searching possible evidences to recall this car or to warn Nissan sentra 2012 owners of possible defective problem with the steering system of this car. Also, I would like to know if I have the right to ask Nissan u. S. A. To help me to pay my bill. The mechanic shop l. & s auto repairs, inc. , yonkers NY. , and we have the official invoice of the job. Thanking you for your time and collaboration, we remain carlos d. Bonilla.

The Nissan dealership has looked at my Xterra and found that a nut welded to the frame from the inside has broken free of the frame. This is causing my suspension noise/issue. The problem I am having is Nissan does not want to fix my problem. The dealership is waiting on Nissan to give the go ahead to schedule repairs but they/I can't get Nissan to move forward with the repairs. The noise is getting worse and I am afraid it will lead to a safety issue if not handled soon. The last I have heard was on August 13th the dealership was waiting to hear back from Nissan but several calls to Nissan has turned up nothing I can't even talk to a supervisor or anything.

Steering binds when coming to complete left turn, will not return when moving forwrd unless manually assisted, now steering gear starting to leak.
The contact owns a 2002 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the steering shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was included in recall NHTSA campaign number: 10v554000 (steering). The failure mileage was 125,000.
I bought the car from hertz, thecar had been in a accident before I bought it. I did not find out about the accident until after I bought the car. The car tires could not stay aligned, the headlights were shooting up about 15 feet off the ground, there is paint splatter on the inside of the car motor, paint splatter on the outside by the guards tire, and you can see paint on the hood by the window on the right side, the toe hook on the right side looks to be new. There is a paint line on the inside of engine compartment, the hood is new, there isno rubber mount on the hood arm that hold the hook up. Over spray on the left drivers door.
When the vehicle is traveling 45-50 mph, there is an occasional and sometimes violent shake in the drivetrain. . . Like driving over rumble bars. Also some loss of power while accelerating and hard shifting. This is from transmission failure due to cross contamination between the radiator and the transmission.

I purchased this vehicle used and found out that the fuel gauge does not work. Even after completely filling the fuel tank up the gauge shows "e", empty. It will, on occasion, show 1/4 tank when the fuel level is low. Due to this my vehicle has run out of gas on several occasions while driving at various speeds in various locations and often I have my child in the car with me. I have had to be pushed out of traffic on busy streets due to the vehicle being out of gas and me not being able to know I am running low on gas. It is very scary and quite dangerous. I have spoken with Nissan on several occasions, as there are recalls on this year vehicle for this same exact issue, but they state to me that my vehicle does not fall into the recall. I am told that the recall is for the same year vehicle but not all models. I can not afford to pay to have the vehicle fixed and am stuck with the issue. I am very unhappy with both the seller of the vehicle and the Nissan corporation.
Driving 30 mph on street and hit a pothole and the car geared towards the right and was very difficult to control the steering wheel. I had to hold the steering wheel with two hands with constant pressure to hold it in a straight position. I arrived at my brothers house after ten minutes but I was unable to park in their driveway. The car would not turn left and the steering wheel was very stiff. About two months prior my husband checked the power steering fluid cause I could park on the left of any street. Because of the stiff steering wheel and cranking noise coming from the bottom of the vehicle. I feel like I will be losing control of the car soon. So I will be taking it to our mechanic on Monday.
When I bought the car the adjuster for the steering wheel lever to lower or lift up the wheel is stuck in the down position & won't move. The wheel is hard to move but the steering fluid is full.
I was approaching the 'on' ramp when Xterra pulled to side then flipped over 3x. There are 4 recalls;3 may have contributed to rollover.
Steering wheel wiggles in every direction. Becoming looser everyday. Have read other complaints about this and seems to be a faulty steering bearing.
Vehicle has tight steering. Barely able to turn wheel while not moving. Independent garage checked steering, found corrosion in steering linkage and notified me of recall. When contacted Nissan dealer claims that recall does not cover this vehicle. Called Nissan customer service number who also denied the recall. Vehicle is within the recall dates and was manufactured at smyrna, TN plant. Representative could not say why this vehicle was not included. Wanted me to take to dealer and pay to have repaired. Either Nissan is not honoring the commitment to the recall or the recall needs to be expanded to include all of the effected vehicles.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph and higher the entire vehicle would start to shake. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileages was approximately 154,000. Tb.
