Five problems related to steering gear box have been reported for the 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Recall 03 v 527 000 concerning steering gear bearing. While driving vehicle experienced a momentary steering wheel lock up while turning, more so when making left turns. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed consumer that this vehicle was not covered under the recall due to VIN.
Vehicle has been at dealer seven times for noise in the front end. The dealer has replaced the intermediate steering shaft, the rack and pinion and has tightened the control arm and front struts. Manufacturer has been notified. Ak.
