May 29, 2004 on a state highway and traveling at 55 mph when we felt a "thump" under our van. Upon pulling over, saw an oil slick left on road from vehicle. Transmission had a hole punched through from inside. Both Chrysler dealer and transmission supply said they see many like it every month, where a set pin lets go and a small shaft slips over far enough to contact transmission case and destroys it. Vehicle had 49564 miles on it at the time. Transmission replaced at a cost of $2004. 29. I have old case at home.
Failure of the transmission.
While driving the transmission "fell apart" without warning and caused loss of front wheel drive. A broken transmission pin caused this problem. The technicians said that this is design flaw and Chrysler was aware. Scc.

98 Plymouth Grand Voyager - 70k miles was informed by a Chrysler service center that I needed a new transmission. 96 Plymouth Grand Voyager wipers activate on there own occassionally - airbag light comes on and stays on occassionally.
Consumer heard a loud bang almost like hitting a bump. After parking vehicle there was a puddle of transmission fluid on ground. Vehicle would start up, but wouldn't drive. Chrysler wouldn't cover cost. Customer service agent was very rude.
My van is a lemon. All kinds of electrical problems - defogger sometimes work and sometimes not, windows won't roll down, stereo speakers sometimes works, instrument panel lights go off and on, dim yellow headlights, etc. Found pin hole in head. . . Defect in metal. Van over heated and gauge did not say it was hot. Fan went out. Now something going wrong with front end. Occasionally smell gas. The lifter head gasket now leaks oil. Van sometimes jumps in park and rolls. I can not afford to fix this stuff. . . Bail me out not Chrysler. . . .
In November 1999 had transmission replaced. Currently, transmission needs to be replaced again. In December 2000, headgasket blewout.
When backing out of driveway on a hill, it is difficult to put it into drive from reverse, causing the vehicle to roll backwards before it actually engages the drive gear. Dealer claims this is not a defect. Also, anti-lock brake failure reported previously.
Transmission can be engaged when the vehicle is on/off or when brakes are applied. Dealer has been contacted. Ak.
The vehicle was put into gear without the brake being applied.
Grinding noise originating while idling in gear and a/c on from engine carpartment problem submitted to the dealer twice, no solution available.
