Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problems of the 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager

Six problems related to automatic transmission park/neutral start switch have been reported for the 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2002

Child was able to move gear shift from park without depressing the brake pedal. This being a primarily "family vehicle" they should be prepared for any type of situation that could accidently occur involving a child.

2 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2001

Vehicle was in park, child moved gear shift to drive,and vehicle started rolling downhill. Consumer was able to jump in through sliding door and stop vehicle. Child was injured.

3 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2001

Consumer's 3 year old child was able to release vehicle from park gear without the use of a key or pressing of brake pedal. Vehicle rolled forward into a garage, and crushed garage door. There was no gear shift interlocking system in vehicle. Please provide any additional information/attachments.

4 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2000

Child was able to put the car into reverse without touching the brakes.

5 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 09/21/1999

While vehicle was in park position a child was able to put van into drive and it took off. Child was was not touching the brakes.

6 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Brakes do not have to be applied in order to shift gears. A child easily shifted gears which resulted in vehicle losing control and hitting a mailbox. . Et.
