Four problems related to ignition switch have been reported for the 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Upon restarting the van the key failed to turn in the ignition. The van was towed to the dealership where it was determined that the ignition had locked up. The dealership replaced the ignition switch and made adjustments to the steering column. Please provide any additional information.
Ignition lock cylinder defect. Third defect/replacementon this vehicle. Stranded do to defective material/workmanship. Additional defects include temperature switch,radiator cooling fans, premature brake wear(brakes replaced twice already). Manufacturer thinks this is normal.
2nd replacement of ignition/ lock in steering column. Car has 52,000 mi. Not covered under maintenance agreement. Car had to be dragged backwards out of garage to get it into the tow bed, very bad for transmission, if this failure occurred at late night, could have been very dangerous.
Comsumer has a hard time turning key in ignition. Driver says another time key would not turn at all. Consumer has contacted dealer, and they stated that entire steering column needed replacing. Please provide any further information.
