Three problems related to wiring have been reported for the 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I started vehicle to warm up while at our cabin in northern michigan. After about 3 minutes of running I noticed a bad odor coming from the vehicle. Upon inspection of the vehicle I discovered smoke inside of the vehicle. I moved it away from my garage and shut it off. I opened the doors and the left rear speaker next to the seat was on fire! I went into my cabin, grabbed a fire extinguisher and put out the fire.
Traveling home from town I made a sharp left turn and noticed a warning momentary warning beep. The airbag dash lamp illuminated momentarily and went out. After making a second left turn it stayed on. The next day I noticed the lamp stayed on and the horn did not work. I have not checked the cruise yet.
Wire harness has failed, causing the horn to be inoperative. There was a recall associated with this description; however, this vehicle was not included due to VIN.
