Engine And Engine Cooling Problems of Plymouth Grand Voyager

My van has been accelerating when I am (applying) putting on my brake to stop, making my van rev, skip & jerk. This has been going on for over 2 months.

The vehicle caught fire when I was about to leave my house, I had started it and then was about to put it in gear when it exploded, I had to jump out the passenger side and then there was another explosion followed by another.

Engine would start and run a few seconds and then go dead. Engine would restart and run very rough for a few seconds and continue to go dead. Eventually engine would not start. Checked power at coil and there would be power for a second when switch was turned on and then auto shutdown relay clicks and power is lost to coil. Replaced crank sensor and put a computer from same model van in and still will not start. No codes on scan tool. There is fuel pressure on the fuel rail.

Above are our major problems we recently had with our van. The most serious one that has to do with safety is the body work done to the left side strut tower due to rust - which also included the repair of the suspension. I reported this to daimlerchrysler under concern#11568602 asking them for financial assistance but they refused. We also had a transmission failure and air condion failure; howerver, these were fixed with no charge due warranty (below 100,000 miles), but the air conditioning failed again as noted above. Regarding other costs: these were for the front sway bar bushings and outer tie rod ends. I purhased this 1996 van in 11/12/1998 with an odometer reading of 53,841 miles.

The evaporator has gone out,so no cold air - the mechanic said this happens often with my make and model vehicle and said I should complain. If you can ofer anyhelp or solutions I would apprecitate it. Thanks, d kossow.

Abs pump went out.

Air bag warning lamp continuously illuminated with failure of horn & cruise control. Previous year models are being recalled for same clockspring not being wound correctly during installation.

1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager with several recall issues. Consumer states that the vehicle has not been looked at for these problems with the gasoline delivery system, airbags, and fuel injection and would like to know what to do. The consumer stated the vehicle now has engine problems and is not running.

On various occasions since the first week of ownership of the vehicle the speedometer and temperature guage have simultaneously dropped to zero and the fluctuated between 0 & 85 mph, dealer was contacted and they kept the van to investigate, nothing found, they then hooked up a computer reader that I drove with for 10 days, as sthis incident only happened sporadically and I had to hit a button when it did nothing was reported. When travelling at anywhere from 10 to 65mph it is sometimes quite dangerous to takes your eyes off the road and your hand off the steering wheel to hit the button of an attachment on your visor. . ! this incident had continued to occur over the past year and now in the middle of a hurricane I have attempted to evacuate my children from the area only to find that my vehicle will not start. The dealership sent somebody to assist and due to the weather conditions he told me to keep the car running all day as he did not feel that this was a battery problem but computer related,particularly after I told him about the strange happenings with the speedo etc. The van ran for about 3. 5 hours on my driveway and then died. . . ! the local Chrysler dealership is coming to pick it up tomorrow morning.
