Dash Wiring problems of the 1996 Plymouth Neon

Ten problems related to dash wiring have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Neon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2004

Oil leaks, dashboard failure, noise in brakes, wind noise in passengers door. Have replaced valve cover gasket twice, replaced oil sendind unit,cam sensor was replaced now I have a big oil leak, car only has 45000 miles on it.

2 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2002

Dashboard indicators stop working. I could have a full tank of gas and the fuel indicator will read empty. The car could be running for an hour and the temperature still reads cold. Ph.

3 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2001

I have heard too many complaint on these problems not only from other Neon owners, but dealership mechanics as well. Last Chrysler product that I will ever purchase. No safety defect mentioned.

4 Dash Wiring problem

The dash control's(speed)only works sometimes!the frontend feels like it is coming out from under the car, and the paint is peeling off the top and the sides. I am truely disappointed. Plus I have had it worked on for the headgasket. Plus gas pedal sticks.

5 Dash Wiring problem

After 2 months of a small oil leak, the problem worsened. The mechanic replaced the head gasket. Recently all of the gauges on the instrument panel completely stopped working.

6 Dash Wiring problem

All gauges on the dash quit working, the cluster and circuit board were replaced.

7 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/01/1998

Dash meters were already previously fixed but said I was going to be charged to replace the 2nd time since I wasn't under warranty anymore. The oil leak is said to be found in all Neons from the mechanics I took it to.

8 Dash Wiring problem

Instrument panel on the dash board is not working. Dealer has been contacted.

9 Dash Wiring problem

Multiple problems with car from engine to wiring. Not happy with car contacted manufacturer and they would not do anything about the problem car!.

10 Dash Wiring problem

Electrical system failed due to a circuit board failure. This caused the digital console to completely go blank not being able to initiate readings. Please describe details.
