Air Bag Problems of Plymouth Neon

2000 Neon my air bags and cruise control and horn are not working. I need a clockspring assembly and this has happen to other car same yr and they will not do any thing about it can you help me.

Mva, my mother was involved in an accident. According to the accident report, she was turning left and the other car was only going 25 miles/hour. My mother received injuries that caused her death a week later. In inspecting the Neon, 2001 it appeared that the seat belts did not lock out. She went forward into the airbag. She had a fractured sternum and 4 fractured rib's, and multiple bruises ( so many she had to have a transfusion. How can this be! she was hardly moving and the other vehicle was only going 25 miles/hour?.

I was driving down the road, came to a complete stop to allow a vehicle with a blow out to get off the road. I started to accelerate, looked at the car with the blow out and apparently a truck in front of me felt the same way because when I looked up he had come to a stop and I couldn't stop before hitting him. I was going 15 mph. My air bags didn't deploy. I didn't even scratch the other vehicle but within seconds a fire started coming out where the windshield wipers were, in a matter of minutes my car was enguled. The front of my car had little damage but the fire engulfed the rest.

The air bag light illuminated on the dashboard, and the horn did not work.

When attempting to have all NHTSA issued safety recalls completed on my vehicle service repair center manager. Stated they only applied to certain Neon's not all of the 2000's. I have yet as of this date been able to accomplish NHTSA recall id#99v043000, #99v114000 nor have I ever received the addendum referred to in NHTSA recall id #00v366000. In recognition of the recent problems experienced w/my vehicle, overheating, inoperable driver side window, horn & airbag system and my having also experienced brake problems, I feel these recalls are essential. However, they are going unrecognized by annapolis tate Dodge.

While driving consumer smelled something burning, then, horn went off. Went to dealer who said that airbag module had to be replaced. Not covered under warranty because consumer punctured airbag, there was no visible damage to steering wheel where airbag was located.

Engine oil leaks three set of head gaskets/ transmission slipping rebuilt three times/ powersteering pump replaced 2 times / speed contol doesn't work because clocking spring defective in air bag control/ dealer stated tha manufacture would on pay for parts only and the coustomer would have to pay the labor out of the two plus years that I have owned this car it has been in the shop for at least 6 months.

While driving 70 mph the occupant fell asleep, the vehicle went on the wrong side of the street and had a roll over which it roll over in the front of the vehicle when the driver and passenger airbag should of deploy but it did not deploy and did not protect the occupant. Please provide further information.

I just found out about this recall for the 1997 Neon's. However the biggest problem is that the paint is peeling off the entire car. I've tried several times to resolve this problem with both the dealer and the maker,to no avail. What is my recourse? thank-you!.
