1 Speed Control Cable problem of the 2000 Plymouth Neon

Failure Date: 03/27/2004

Faulty spot welds on the metal bracket thats holds the accelerator pedal assembly to the firewall broke loose. Spot welds full of air pockets. Showed it to the dealer, but they would not honor the defect. 38000 miles and its real nice to have the gas pedal to hang by the throttle cable. Thank goodness it happened in the driveway and not pulling out into traffic!.

2 Speed Control Cable problem of the 1998 Plymouth Neon

Failure Date: 01/15/1999

The trottle sometimes sticks after cruiding along and coming to a stop. At times the engine speed is great enough so when braking, the rear wheels lock up and the car is difficult to stop. The dealer has been unable to find the problem. I have checked the engine when the throttle is stuck and found no cables binding, but the throttle plate was not at idle.
