I was driving when the instrument cluster gauges started moving up and down like if the instrument cluster was making false contact with the connector to get a calibrated read on the speed, gasoline, temperature gauges.

The contact owns a 2000 Plymouth Neon. While attempting to park, the contact changed gears into reverse and the vehicle shut off. She restarted the vehicle and shifted into park; however, the vehicle continued to accelerate on its own. The brakes failed to work when the pedal was depressed. The contact was able to shift into park, but the vehicle shut off a few minutes later. She waited a while before restarting the vehicle and it returned to normal. She will take the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. The current and failure mileages were 100,000.

Problems wtih vehicle's brakes and gas tank. There were brake problems and the gas tank had fallen out of the vehicle. The service department claimed that nothing was wrong with the vehicle and that it was normal for the engine to race. The fuel pump seal was found leaking.
When the driver removed his foot from the brake pedal the vehicle surged forward unexpectedly. The rotors warped.

When backing into a parking space vehicle accelerated backwards, resulting in an impact in reverse. Vehicle was towed to dealership, and they were unable to duplicated problem. Both dealership and insurance company were unable to find the cause. Consumer states on several occasions the vehicle would not start.
Consumer was approaching an intersection and applied brakes and vehicle started speeding up. He lost control of vehicle and hit another motorist. Dealership was aware of problem. Ak.
Rpms would remain open even when accelertion havs decreased. Dealer was not notified at this time. Feel free to provide any further information concerning this matter.

While driving 25 mph vehicle accelerated and then hit an embankment, and rolled once upin impact, neither airbag deployed. Consumer was not injured.
While driving 25mph another vehicle cut in front, forcing consumer to brake. Once consumer took foot off brake vehicle accelerated, engine revved, and shot across road to left. Consumer wanted to avoid hitting other vehicles, hit embankment, and rolled once. Consumer was not injured.
Consumer is having difficulty in scheduling recall (00v-194) appointment with the dealership.
Daughter indicated at time of accident that vehicle would not slow down when brakes were applied. Figured operator error at time however, may have been wrong especially in light of recall information. Note. Weather was fine the day of the accident, no extreme cold. Vehicle was on dirt road, coming down a hill when she allegedly tried to slow vehicle down.
Consumer experiencing ongoing problem with vehicle continually / intermittently accelerating out of control, causing vehicle to go out of control which almost caused damages and injuries to other vehicle. Vehicle been in dealer shop on three occasions, and problem still remains unresolved. Consumer would like some help in this matter before someone gets hurt or killed.

Throttle position sensor switch failed twice in less than one year.
When accelerating the car pulls to the left, when decelerating vehicle pulls to the right. Steering wheel replaced, it was vibrating due to being out of alignment, rack and pinion and steering rack were also replaced. Excessive shaking while driving, dealer replaced tires, and balanced and rotated tires, however shake still present, dealer stated vehicle had torque pull and could not be aligned, also had bad strut, vehicle continues to pull to the left and right and shakes. Consumer noticed oil around the bolts on the valve cover at only 265 miles, dealer can not find any leaks, front motor mount had a lot of play and was replaced, oil is very dark in color, poor power. Cv joints bad. Dealer lubed and adjusted front windows, they were hard to open and close. Windshield wiper blades failed. Wrong air cleaner vent was installed on vehicle. Emergency brake was stuck on. Consumer states vehicle was taken to dealer on three occasions for brake problems. Consumer complained of poor gas mileage.
While driving engine revs up without notice. Also engine revs when brakes are applied which causes the vehicle to jerk forward. Dealer currently has vehicle.
The vehicle would accelerate on its own, however the dealer could not find the cause.
Intermittently when coming to a stop under normal conditions vehicle will rev up and will surge forward, causing extended stopping distance. Manufacturer has been notified.
All gauges will go off and come back on with in the next ten minutes or when turning engine off and back on they may come back on.
