Fuel Injection problems of the 1997 Plymouth Voyager

11 problems related to fuel injection have been reported for the 1997 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2006

: the contact stated while driving 15 mph there was a smell of fuel and smoke was coming from the air vents. Someone behind the vehicle alerted the driver that the vehicle was on fire. The driver pulled off of the road and exited the vehicle. The vehicle was engulfed in flames and was totaled. The fire department and the police department were notified. The fire department determined the fire originated from the hood and spread throughout the vehicle. Updated 07/03/06.

2 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2004

The contact stated vehicle stalls when idling followed by the engine dying. The vehicle restarts after several attempts. He took the vehicle to an independent repair shop. The repair shop cleaned the throttle body and the fuel injection system. This did not correct the problem. No further repairs have been made at this time.

This auto has a numerous/expensive repairs, we have not been notified of recalls for this car. Help what do we do? dt.

4 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2002

Nhtsa recall 00 v 268 000/manufacturer's recall 895 concerning fuel leakage: dealer: maroone Dodge in delray beach, FL; phone# 561/278-6362. Indicated on work invoice that both clamps and tube were replaced. Consumer states that both clamps was replaced, but not the tube. Jlg.

5 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2002

Safety recall clock spring assembly nar 1/22/2003 the air bag light illuminated and the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer where the problem was diagnosed as a short in clock spring. The power door locks were not unlocking, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. Another recall regarding the fuel rail was repaired, however the consumer was charged a $50. 00 deductible.

Recall 00v268000, found recall on NHTSA website, called Chrysler who denied there was a recall.

7 Fuel Injection problem

Found out about recall on NHTSA website, called manufacturer with VIN number, was told by Chrysler there is no such recall.

8 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2000

Recall 00v268000/ manufacturer's recall 895. Consumer contacted dealer months before receiving recall notice. Dealer stated they have to wait for manufacturer, there was nothing they could do. Recall showed a remedy, but dealer, puckett Dodge Chrysler Jeep, 3625 old halifax road, po box 818 soth boston, va 24592, phone# 804-575-5050 did not seem to know what to do. Consumer states the fuel rail could be replaced now, however consumer believes that dealer thinks it is too expensive and are trying to come up with a cheap way to fix problem.

9 Fuel Injection problem

Vehicle completely burned, cause of fire was due to a fuel leakage. Vehicle was parked, and was driven 45 minutes prior to incident. Please provide any further information, and indentification number.

10 Fuel Injection problem

The consumer has experience the following: noise coming from the rear brakes, noise when starting the engine/uneven idle, the check engine light had come on/burned #5 exhaust valve-removed head/replaced valve/reassembled engine, the engine is knocking/internal rod knocking-engine had an oil leak/replaced gasket & the rear main seal is leaking (the vehicle is going thru 2-3 quarts per month), and when engaging in gear, the engine moves hard. Scc.

11 Fuel Injection problem

Consumer recieved recall notice 00v-268 for the faulty o-rings but is unable to have the recall repairs made because the dealer cannot get the parts and is not sure when they will become available. Nlm.
