general problems of the 1998 Plymouth Voyager

Three problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 1998 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/27/2003

After the signal light turned green driver stepped on accelerator pedal, the engine revved, but the vehicle would not move. Vehicle towed to a repair shop for transmission problem.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2003

Vehicle was taken to the dealer for service. Consumer feels that the service was incomplete because, after a week, vehicle started jerking whenever accelerator was pressed. Vehicle was taken to another shop, and consumer was told that transmission fluid was exceptionally low. Less than a week after that diagnosis transmission completely stopped working. The dealer would not make repairs without consumer paying for them.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2001

Auto is on cruse 67 mph, I feel a "slight studder or quick hesitations" I speed to 72 mph seems o. K, auto returns to cruse speed all is o. K. , 5-10 seconds later I lose power, warning lights on dashboard are not lite, I pull off on shoulder and stop at which time I see "white" smoke at left front, I pull the hood release and it don't release the hood, then smell smoke and it's lite gray,I get out to get help? I do have approx 5 min time or more before I see flames appear between the hood and wheelwell. I est 10 min before the air bags? explode at which time the fire dept from sav GA and pooler GA arrive a 6-8 mile drive from fire station.
