1 Brake Disc Caliper problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2004

Front and rear brakes are wearing out too soon on minivan. Got brake work done on 10/5/02, 11/5/03, 3/26/04, 8/3/04 and 9/4/04.

2 Brake Disc Caliper problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2003

On a 2000 Plymouth Voyager with 14 inch wheels (non-abs), when replacing the front brake pads I noticed that the brake caliper piston was cracked and chipped in numerous places at the outer edge and there were small pieces of the metal piston missing - the missing metal were the size of m&m's. No noticeable problem was detected with the brake pad backing or the rotor. No force was used to remove the caliper or the pad - so this must have happened just while in service. This was only on the passenger side.
